- We’re reviving our home built Honda CB750 cross kart! This 80hp home built go kart always looked great and had good acceleration, but the brakes were finicky. In todays episode, we install new brakes, new taller front wheels, and get the old cross kart running and riding again!
Thanks for Watching!

It should not have started that easily. That’s a Honda!
If it starts and redlines, it's good
So happy to see a video from you guys I was just seating here watching y’all’s old videos
John, pin your comment to the top, you fricking hoodlum! 😂
Got an 81 honda gl500 it sat for 20 years ...I bought it 2 years ago with 3,176 miles on it 3 months ago the time chain snapped at 38,729 miles ...... I'm sure once it's replaced it will start exactly the same
And nonethanol.
Warrior wheels are reversible so you can make it wider by turning them inside out allowing for more clearance on the inside. You just have to deal with the valve stems being on the inside.
The look on Ikes face when that wheel came loost was the best!!
That alone was worth the shocked (yeah it figures) price of admission...lolol...
It'll buff out and it'll be fine fellas....Also,I really love the high Rev noise that cb750 makes...classic...
Bout died from the Charles "everybody has this guy, idk how to help him" 😂
IDK if any of my words help you guys but its fun to think it does. Love you guys. Especially Charlie. Best thing to happen to you since birth.
I mentioned this in other comments in the past an old-timer taught me to stop pumping the brakes when you bleed them because you just push the air bubbles back and forth push the pedal down crack the bleeder close and repeat I've done it and it works way better and faster than pumping them
Agreed! I would also say that the cheap hand powered vacuum pump bleed kits are a great way to get a good start on bleeding the brakes.
hey just put some miata wheels on it with 14" UTV tires, they'll do really nicely.
exactly What I was Thinking!
probably the best shortcut and they have the parts
If anything just do it to say you did it lol
Get yamaha blaster front spindles that will solve alot of problems, especially if you get a set of 2000 and up disk break spindles but even the drum ones are great for the yard cart
The og cross kart is definitely my favorite build you guys have done. That's what you were building when I found your channel.
Mines rat rod wagon the cross kart and the rail
One of my favorite projects! Hey, we all make mistakes of the loose wheel, but y'all recovered. The Cross Cart is still awesome and I can't wait to see more videos of it. John, Ike, Charles, you're all amazing and awesome for what you do. Keep it up!
Liar liar, your panties are on fire! 😂
the camera man is an under rated goat
I know most people prefer flashy, new builds from scratch but I personally enjoy seeing old projects get improved and "finished right". The roadkill guys seem to be leaning more towards that too. Now, having said that..............I agree with what someone below said about a scratch built recovery vehicle would be SWEET! Maybe an ATV winch, but with a tall boom so if, I don't know, a wheel falls off you can "wheelbarrow" it home.
Great job guys!!..... Ike great drifter !! Editing awesome !!..... Charles in charge !!
When you make a rocker arm like that for the brakes, you want it to be up and down 1/2 way through the stroke. In other words at rest it should be leaning one way, then as you step on the brake it should go to straight up and down then at full brake travel it should be leaning the other way. This way the push rod travels up and down as little as possible through it's range.
Here's an idea, and brace for this one. Zero turn go cart. Steering by levers, gas and brakes by pedals. I think it would be a challenge yet rewarding build.
oh yeah something like the 6 and 8 wheel drive hunting tubs that float! that drivetrain would be fun to build
all mechanical too, cant use hydrostatic!
Green machine style?
I’m no expert but to what I know about brake fluid the main difference between DOT3 and DOT4 is the heat rating. They both shouldn’t hurt anything rubber related because all master cylinders that I know of for motorcycles and cars have rubber in them.
My thoughts are the corrosion is the culprit along with possibly just a cheap master cylinder🤔😁
but what does dot 5 do???
@@spassser good point🤔 I guess the question mark is what the master cylinder was designed for…. DOT 5 gels when mixed with 3 or 4. That would be understandable. I guess I’m thinking most old vehicles don’t use dot 5 so what’s the chances that’s what they put in the master cylinder with probably and old motorcycle caliper on the rear. 🤷♂️
Idk wasn’t there to see it. either way enjoy the videos 😁👌👌
@@spassser also if they put DOT 5 in there with 3 or 4 the chances of the rest of the system being messed up is high which I highly doubt is the case😉
So then it’s back to corrosion being the problem 😅
Next build should be a go cart recovery vehicle. Or build the minnie truck into a roll off to retrive broken carts on the grand prix. Could be used at busco beach also.
second this
Third
Yeah.. I said it. Charles fan says much love my guy. Keep on doing it like you do. if I can ever meet up with you boys the first beer is on me.
And calamity ensues as soon as Ike shows up hahahaha.
That is the first time I ever heard Ike say It won't be fine. Lol.
Thanks for sharing y'all's talents and adventures.
Oh and Johnny boy great edit by the way I've have been enjoy the little end clips.
Hey guys, even f1 pit crews make mistakes. Great video, love the cross cart!
imagine an f1 crew not tightening the wheels lol
@@cavemanvi definitely has happened multiple times in the past
Yeah, but even these guys can win leclerc a race
@@cavemanvi search Mark Webber wheel comes off
I've changed from DOT 3 to DOT 5 on older Harleys ... No problem with seals .... HOWEVER....you have to wash everything out with alcohol till dry before you put in DOT5 ...if you mix the 2 you end up with silicone jelly in your system....not sure what that would do to your rubber stuff
The most confusing part is that DOT 5.1 is compatible with all the older ones but not DOT 5.
Dot 5 sucks. Just get some Motul dot 4. I was boiling my brakes on the flattrack and just a simple
Switch and no more issues.
I have to say out of your fleet, the cross cart is my favorite. Watched you guys build it up the whole way through. It looks like an absolute blast!
This project has always been my favorite. I’ve been waiting patiently for a version 2 with a bigger engine maybe a cb900 or cb1100 lol 😂
You should hit up rather b welding and have him make you some beefy spindles. Keep these great videos coming
This is one of, if not THE first, full frame builds C&D has done. It's a killer platform, and not even neglected, just used and used and abused.
Charles always makes me laugh good job man 😂
Right on . Hey I was critical of him at the start but dang it , Charles is making a star worthy of the trio now . Great growing Charles You rock sir .
Nice to see the crosscarcart up and running again and you can’t beat that Honda motor! Great video as always though and glad Ike didn’t get hurt with that little tire issue keep up the great work guys👍🏼🤩💪🏼
You guys need to build a sweet mini tow truck buggy if and when these things happen!
Charles 'Everybody got this guy' 😂
John you ever think about setting it up like they do for the four-wheel-drive stadium trucks they use a large handbrake so that way they can go in and crank the wheel and hit the break at the same time
Thank you for the brake episode! This is yalls best build ever. In my opinion
So much love for the cross cart!! That is thing is a beast.
Great job yinz guys. Keep up the great work
The ring on the bearing failed and the bearing slid into the hub because those bearings retaining rings can't handle much side load. The hub needs an inner pipe to keep the bearings from being able to slide into the hub.
Like too see Charles and John drive more.
It started raining or they would have. Did you not watch until the end?
Why? Stay on track with the drag rail. Plus this sled still needs a full set of carbs.
They have to wait for parts and editing.
17:38 That's what she said. All seriousness, love this cross kart. i remember the first episode of when you started to build it.
This Old Man from Washington NC enjoying in my ManCave. 70 inch TV and AC. Your videos keep me out of the heat. Love you guys 🛵🧔💝💝💝
Stoked. Love this project.
0:52 It started like It was BRAND NEW 😂😂
Nice to see it bk 👍
For off road taller front tires helps a lot in steering control, If you look at racing ATV's you will see the front tires are always taller, even a dirt bike you have a taller front tire, young kids like to see taller tires in the rear but that's just not the best performance....
Love the crosscart!!! Some true light truck tires would be great.
Possibly dune buggy tires like a Baja cart.
The cross cart is awesome but I like the yard dart more. It's still a ripper 💪🏻
Awesome! Thanks for all your hard work getting these videos out
This has always been my favorite build. I love this cart.
Bout time glad yall still have it
Hey guys , if you never do anything wrong or overlook something , you have not done much . Love the cart and you guys are a riot .
great stuff guys thanks
Good little tip when bleeding brakes I use a the top of a water spray bottle attached to the bleeding nipple crack it open an start pumping the spray head untill fluid starts coming out ..an then do the 2 person way love the content an builds... stay safe an stay seated lol
Love the content guys keep it up! Also side thought, would be cool too see each one of you build their own go cart type thing and then race to see which faster , a little ambitious im sure but , would be cool .
before watching
FINALLY! Bigger tires!
Edit 5 minutes in: I always wanted you guys to go with bigger tires not for performance, but to give you your backs more cushion, and to increase the ride height. So many times i saw the front end slam the ground, and I grimaced for your guy's backs. I want to see you guys still messing around with scary fast machines in 20 years, not have your bodies so torn up you can barely move.
Great video the look on Ike,s face when the weel fell off was priceless lol 😆😄
Glad to see you did not damage it beyond repair and that you can continue the revival.
Good to see that 750 revived and improvements being made.
When you get the new carb/intake setup, put some hose barbs in the top of each intake port and connect them all together with some 1/4" hose and tees and elbows. Should make it run a little better, but still not as good as the factory carb setup.
ever since i started watching you guys in 2018 i can easily make a top 10 list of my favorite projects you guys have made
1 the 670cc dragster (its your most iconic project yet)
2 900cc Ducarti
3 the 228cc bronco 4X4
4 the 750cc Cross Kart
5 Trophy Kart
6 670 2 stroke go kart
7 the Honduki (sorry ike)
8 the 190cc Yard Dart
9 550cc cozy coupe
10 the mb200
It has the ol' Carolina Squat!
Hell yeah gang I'm glad your back and still shooting like a gangsta.miss the video's bro
Hey boys- I just awoke from a daydream. In it, you three were working on your digger again- installing a twin turbo V-6. Funny car style headers. Seat between rear tires. Old school digger like that takes a pair of huge, shiny brass **** to drive! :-O
Keep on cranking these great 👍 videos!!
This things a beast!!!
still my favorite build. I am like John I have a soft spot for the original cross kart
to get the master cilinder to come back you could pressureise it prent the brakeline part and then play with it to get it to free up/ clear itself out
as for the intake manifolds , youre pretty handy in 3d designing , you can probably make them on a 3d printer , you do need to see wish material it most fuel resistant
crosscart is def the sexiest machine the boys have ever made, specially when clean
@23:×× welcome to summer time in NC! Lol.
Beautiful Sunny day 1 minute, tropical Storm the next. Lol.
You need to use four carbs on that engine. there's got to be a set of four laying around somewhere?
Charles needs to put a siren on that bicycle.
Do you think that the improved steering would help improve the timeing on the grand pre?
to be easy to bleed and have the best performance you need the brake master to be the highest point in the system, just like the radiator cap or bleeder in a cooling system. that's also why the bleeder screw is on the top of the wheel cylinders or calipers, because the air in a liquid filled system will migrate to the highest point.
Definitely 1 my favorite builds
First, I saw an Opel GT in the background, Very cool car. Second, you may need to put a taller gear on the rear with the taller tires to keep the final gear ratio similar to what you have now.
Don't forget to put a skid plate under the oil pan and to strap a Shanghai sushi slicer on it
Good video! I'd make fixing the front spindles a priority. They're going to just keep bending and might even cause a crash. Be careful! Thanks for the vids! 👍👍
Congratulations on over 1m subs love yall
Wow allsome work guys from cruzermans inventions 😁👍🎉
Still the best thing you guys have built
C&C Guys, please get yourselves a vacuum brake bleeder that uses compressed air to power it. (Not the hand pump kind.) It will make your brake bleeding so much easier in the future.
Stop! Your wheels are turning!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Petel the word you were hunting is it's a fulcrum and it multiplies force by leverage .
Coolio video that cross kart is dope👍🏼👍🏼
Also camera man. Goes unseen and nameless. Much love man
If you're using Miata hubs (or 4×100/4×4 bolt pattern), golf cart wheels should fit just fine, so long as the offset is correct. 1" trailer stub axles will be plenty beefy for your needs, too. I used a pair for my golf cart's front suspension, and they have held up pretty well to the roughly 1300lb cart hitting rocks and roots at 25mph so far...
4x100 is NOT the same as 4x4”! That 1.6mm makes a significant difference and can cause wheel studs/bolts to bend or even snap. People have made that mistake on MG Midgets and learned the hard way.
With a little bit of help with an A-dapter kit, I got the reference Issac 🤣
Great Show
Love that cart
Allsome work from cruzermans inventions 😁🎉👌
HEY the Cross kart, love that contraption. I want one
Awesome guys
Im doing something like this but with a Murray hard drive and a yzf600cc engine haha love the content
Without a doubt the new and more spacious C&C workshop (dare I call it a factory ??) needs one thing - a bar.
The cross cart turned out allsome 👌😃🌟 allsome work guys from cruzermans inventions alternator bike man haha😁
Let’s goooooooooo I freakin love your videos guys keep it up
this one is my favorite cart you all have
Well the swelling of seals can also be from the pb blaster. Wd 40 makes Owings and rubber seals swell.
She'll be ready for the track w/ Slicks & Wheelie Bars!!!
Taller tires! Right on guys!
Where is the best place to get some of those tires (the old ones from the drag rail, from b4 yall went to jr dragster tires) ???
I want to put some on my fourwheeler!
I first found out about this build when someone recreated this crosskart in the racing sim Assetto Corsa.
ooOOOOPPpps at 21:49 , amazing sound .
I watch every episode you guys put out who's the new kid he hasn't been introduced yet that I've seen and I don't think I've missed an episode of yours
for rears, i would test fit the rear wheels off the HonDuki, those might fit better?
