Good news and not so good news from the PET SCAN regarding my Prostate cancer treatment

  • Today I spoke to my Oncologist, we have the results from your recent PET Scan and it’s rather good news
    This video is about the chat and what’s on the agenda for the next round of treatments
    Thank you for watching this video, I’ve been making these videos as a vlog sharing my journey through Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer.
    My world literally fell apart on Sept 15th 2021 when I was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer which according to my Oncologist is incurable (although ive never accepted that) Questions such as how long have I got left how bad is it , in fact, a whole host of frightening thoughts, where sudennly swarming around my mind and exploding at opportune moments when I felt most vulnerable.
    If i were to be honest, I was lost and lonely to begin with. People don’t know how to deal with someone who has stage four cancer. It’s a taboo subject. I honestly didn’t know who to turn to for help. It can be a dark place and I only wish I could of found a channel such as this to help me through those early days.
    I started writing a blog whilst I was in hospital and recovering at home after the initial treatment phase.
    I then decided to make this vlog because it seemed a better way to get my story out there. I want to provide a channel where I would continue telling my story for as long as I can and invite comments from others that can also help and share their own experiences.
    Cancer can be a lonely place, and I hope this channel will help someone else who may be a bit lost and feel alone whilst dealing with their own diagnosis and experience.
    Nothing is ever as bad as you think it will be, and that seems to the case so far with my experience with Prostate Cancer.
    Thank you for watching. Please comment and subscribe if you feel like it, and please share the videos with anyone you think may find them helpful
    Woody ❤️

    Just came across your channel. My husband recently diagnosed with PC. Is now on hormone therapy. Next is radiation . He had a bone scan as they thought it had spread to his hips which it hasn't thankfully. Your right about thinking positive, it's me that's worrying, reading things online, some scaring the life out of me. They can't operate, because he is in his 70s and the recovery would mean he would be left partially incontinent, so now onto the next stage of treatment in a few months. All the best to you x

      Hi Sharon thank you for your comment
      Sometimes you can scare yourself to death with all the stuff you find online.
      Some of it’s good but some not so.
      The good news is it hasn’t spread to his hips and hopefully nowhere else. When I was first diagnosed it had spread everywhere but thankfully none of my vital organs.
      I’m sure if he tries to live a healthy lifestyle plenty of fresh food veggies and fruit and stays away from the processed stuff, gets plenty of exercise and stays positive that is the most important thing to keep positive, you will have many more lovely years to come with your husband ❤️

    Was waiting for your video Woody. Radiation has improved over the 12 years of my treatments. First time i had radiation to the prostate bed, it spilled over into my bowel and bladder which was quite painful. Last summer i had one lymph node radiated, with very little side effects. Just a slight pain in the area from time to time. Targeted radiation has vastly improved during the last 12 years. You have the big picture. I think that is the secret. Yes we have cancer, but they can keep us going, and can have a descent life. Regards Carl

      I agree Carl, it’s incredible what they do when you have stage four cancer these days, the longer we survive the more chance something else might appear in our treatment methods

    >>Undetectable levels of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) have been reported from the first patient with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) to ever receive two cycles of Clarity’s 67Cu-SAR-bisPSMA at the 8GBq dose level. PSA is a marker of tumour burden, clinical response to treatment and an indicator of the recurrence of disease for prostate cancer.

    Hi Woody , superb news and treatment plan going forward sounds very promising, it seems different areas different treatments , gleason 9 stage 4 diagnosed Easter 22, chemo and hormone treatment so far, no radio, my latest PSA test few weeks ago for the first time PSA started to rise, I asked for a re test , is it a blip or really started to go up , I asked 3 times refused 3 times for a simple blood test done by a nurse , GP refused , can not justify another test your next one is in six months, no I will not worry myself daft for the next 6 months, got one done private and yes a blip back to where it should be, nice to know where we stand, in my opinion lots of superb Doctors but beware the wankers, same in every profession Phil

      @Livingwith-prostatecancer  Před 20 dny

      Some GPs are awful, what right have they got to refuse you a test I’m 100% sure if they were going through what we are going through then they would soon get tested. I had PC symptoms for 8 months before I was given a PSA test. My GP was sure it was sciatica, who knows if those 8 months would have made any difference to my prognosis, something I can’t really spend too much time thinking about really. Im glad yours was just a blip that’s a relief.

    Don't be afraid of chemo. I went down that path and it was not too bad and just a limited time. I got six rounds of docetaxel and it cleared off my last residue confirmed by PSMA/PET scan before and after. Docetaxel is very mild compared to some chemo cocktails given to women with breast cancer for example.

    Woody good result as PSMA Pet Scan is the current best practice. I admire Woody that you are still working full time. Like you I was Gleason 9, Stage 4 and have had ADT and radiation. Sorry you have small cancer lesion in base spine. Keep positive Woody.

    Glad you're coping Woody. Don't forget the tomato puree 20g 3 times a day, it works for me. It should at least slow it down. I regard it as medicine and take extra ketchup. Good luck.

      Thanks for the tips! I’ve been doing the tomato purée every day, it might of had something to do with my PSA coming down very slightly after slowly rising for five months

      My situation is complicated, at psa 380 some tumors around spine have caused my legs lost strength. I am on wheelchair again. Therapy is hardly possible as I got already a lot of radiation sooner. It is after 18years having prostate cancer..

    Sir u ever seen pc survival patient more then 10 years I'm very scared because my father is suffering from pc cancer that has spread to his 8 areas of body and my everyday is a waste because im thinking too much about what happened to my father and at the age of 23 my life became hell

      @Livingwith-prostatecancer  Před 16 dny +1

      I had PC in 2021 that had spread to many areas most of is now gone thanks to modern medicine and I believe a positive mindset is key.there are plenty of people that are alive after 10 years despite the initial prognosis, I know a few of them
      Personally which gives me hope and should give you hope too 🙏
