Hell even if it is across the street I’m not taking a hospital order for less than $8. 99 times out of a hundred they are a pain to find the customer, finding parking or the right entrance
I just found that out 2-3 nights back. I was in the parking lot of the Chick-fil-A and the location was less than a mile for like 2 bucks. That took 30 minutes as had to wait for late 8pm rush and 20 plus minutes in the hospital. I learned a hard lesson for 2.18….
That’s what we call a selfish cheapskate, when a person like that should get their own food especially when their a driver and don’t value other drivers bringing em’ food late at night with the time, miles, gas, etc to provide you good service. If I was to tip a driver, it would be $10-$15 bucks as a way of saying “I appreciate you and we’re in the same field of work so I know how it is”.
I drive for DoorDash and UberEats and whenever I order food I pick up everything myself not because I want to but because I can't afford to have it delivered. Some of these $1.00 tip McDonald's people should be thinking the same way. 😁 I noticed if I picked up my burrito from Chipotle it was only $10.65 or something. Having 1 burrito delivered to my house before tipping is like $17 and I always tip at least $4.50 at minimum. So about $22 for one burrito coming to the house is insane. People must have some money to burn.
They need to scrap the entire system of how pay is determined and create something like a scale based on mileage that is pre-determined with a percentage of that service fee going to the dasher, as well as tips. He's 100% correct, these orders we see for 2$ for 8 miles are not only due to non-tipping, but also due to the pre-determined $2 base pay that isn't scaled on miles.
That’s what we call a selfish cheapskate, when a person like that should get their own food especially when their a driver and don’t value other drivers bringing em’ food late at night with the time, miles, gas, etc to provide you good service. The irony 😅 he must be trolling with that 2$ tip, 2$ is insulting no matter how close the restaurant is and that's assuming the driver is already at the restaurant and not 3 miles away... He...should...know...this
That’s what we call a selfish cheapskate, when a person like that should get their own food especially when their a driver and don’t value other drivers bringing em’ food late at night with the time, miles, gas, etc to provide you good service. There should be more transparency and the customer should know how poorly the drivers are paid and exploited, Imagine picking up and delivering anyone's order for $4.00 or less. You might as well just flip burgers and you would be much further ahead. Especially if you are in California where minimum wage for fast food workers is now $20/hour.
I won’t accept an order for $4 even for a mile. Just don’t order something that cheap where you won’t tip at least $4 and DoorDash can’t pay the driver more cause the subtotal is so low. There should be minimum subtotal for delivery orders like $20+ it would help everyone. If the numbers are too low it just doesn’t make sense to do business for us drivers.
I thought this video was about DRIVERS Being upset! This video should be titled "Why Customers are upset with DD" I don't take $2.25 orders. As a DASHER, how do you feel good about yourself tipping $2 for a hospital delivery? DD should do better, but YOU should do better too!
Thank you so much for this info. I've been saying this for years. There needs to be a MINIMUM PAYMENT for delivery of $4 (local), from the gig company. We're all about no tip, no trip, leaving it up to the customer to pay more. We should be more about these companies paying us a FAIR base payment. Congratulations on your BabY 👶!!!
I just drove 20 miles to do my dash in a nearby town. On arrival I get a delivery BUT they decided it will be pay by the hour and give me no choice, so I pass and they diss my metric and log me off my shift. I call customer service on the phone and they say they are aware of the "Glitch," also that they cant reinstate my dash after. The 20 miles does not matter to them. So I give it a few moments and try the app again and then it says dash now, so I log back in and the order I passed on hits me again, same thing they ignore my BY DELIVERY choice and hit me with hourly or nothing again. I let it pass by without decline and it dissed my metric and logs me off again. So beware of the NEW BS no choice ! and loose your shift and your stats. I thought it could not be worse but they try hard to make it shitty instead of caring about drivers with great metrics. Apologies but no way will I drive for partial minimum wage on my van and my gas !!!!!!!! NO WAY DOOR DASH
If you gonna tip a driver be more generous and mindful before you make that move because 2 bucks is a insult which speaks volume about your character being selfish, cheap, and greedy especially when you do this type of gig work to know what drivers go through and everything. So practice what you preach next time you decide to do a video. I don’t order food for a driver to get for me on any apps, I go get my own food but if I did, I would tip the driver 10-15 bucks as a way of saying “I appreciate you and know what you go through as a driver who’s in the same field as me”. If you keep being this way and go down this path, I assure you, karma will come your way soon & you won’t be blessed✌️ 😈
I'm curious do you have any comments on the new Dasher Rewards program that replaced the top Dasher program because I'm still trying to figure out if I complete 100 deliveries a month will I get platinum perks for the entirety of the coming month
Bro they deactivated me for failing their Face ID one time (other attempts successful) and denied my appeal despite proof of my identity being sent to them in many different formats This company is going downhill they are getting the shit sued of them
I wish people who order a food delivery service would think like the customer I had last night it was 11 at night and raining the distance was 7 miles not many orders were coming in so I took the order because it was for 12.00 but when I got there the customer said he added a better tip because he thought about the fact that it’s dark and raining and the road to his house isn’t great on cars. After the order I see he added 15.00 on top of the 9 he tipped to begin with. That’s a good mindset to be in, think about what the driver has to go through to get you that food and tip appropriately. Last night was rare, every order I got had a tip of 10 dollars or better. And for my market that’s high, you’re lucky to see an order paying over 15 here.
Damn!!! This video backfired hella hard with your $2 trash tip 😂. Regardless of the subtotal or miles driven by the delivery driver, the tip should NEVER be lower than $5 on every order. My dad delivered pizzas for Pizza Hut back in the early 90’s and would receive a $5 tip on almost every delivery on top of an hourly wage. 30+ years later and customers are cheaper than ever.
The food upcharge is for the restaurant to cover the fee doordash charges them to be on the platform which is 15%-30% depending on the package they go with.
You are so in the wrong bro tipping $2. These people order all day long, knowing the fees. But they choose not to tip knowing that the driver has no control over prices. That's like stiffing the pizza delivery driver, same model that's been in place since the 70's. Not to mention most pizza places don't deliver outside 2-4 miles period.
So I’m not good with math and I have not started dashing yet, but, you said that if DoorDash paid better wages, wouldn’t there be more and more competition with other drivers because more drivers would start dashing and therefore the available work might go down right? Am I missing something? Is that not how it works? I’m still trying to figure it out. Thanks. Congrats on your baby by the way.
I live in Beloit Wisconsin and when I do shopping delivery orders now it tells me to take a picture of the receipt and it sends it to the customer and then it tells me to throw away the receipt last month it would only just have me throw away the receipt because the customer was getting a digital receipt so I'm guessing that must have changed

Yes, which means that money goes to Doordash to cover the cost to be on their platform. DoorDash is still getting that money, that’s why the prices are higher. If DoorDash didn’t charge restaurants they wouldn’t have to increase pricing
