    With over 2,000 deliveries and platinum status, I still get $2 orders with no tip. It is not worth the effort or the expense. So for all of you who are thinking about driving for doordash, you should think again. If you ignore my friendly warning, there is a 99.9% chance that you will understand exactly what I mean within your first month. Do anything.... And I mean anything other than subsidize doordash. Good luck!

      I actually appreciate this warning because I think most people get into it thinking they will make good money but then soon find they struggle especially with only running DoorDash. Thank you for you view and insight

      Yes, if you could rate, please consider the time it takes for people to get your food. It is not a Dasher’s responsibility to cook it and package it. We literally stand there and wait for it to be done before we can go .. unfortunately that is the reason some orders are declined depending on the merchant and time of day. Then the next dasher accepts the order gets penalized because it’s super late for the customer.. ppl just don’t know how much happens in behind the scenes.. some merchants don’t have it down pat yet and steadily keep taking your orders..

  • @keithseamster4988
    @keithseamster4988 Před 3 měsíci +5

    The second your acceptance rate hits 69% it automatically knocks you down one level. In my opinion doordash getting worse. They don't care about drivers they just want the orders deliver asap. So they can make money. North Carolina

      And that’s what makes this program so frustrating. Once you drop to Gold or Silver Dash now goes away. And in several markets it’s extremely difficult to get on dash. Thank you for commenting and watching!

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah, it’s crazy that it fluctuates every order. They are just finding fancy ways to “make drivers feel good” when in reality just wanting orders delivered

  • @jacobrawlins1069

    I’m a Platinum DoorDasher for almost four weeks, and I just realize they don’t offer hourly pay anymore.
    Which unfortunately means I’m not getting payed to cover my wait time and travel!!!
    Tonight I also realized when I get a order pop up to tell me the amount I’m getting for the delivery, sometimes it’ll say the price ($4.59) and +tip.
    Apparently the ($4.59) is all you’ll get at the end of the delivery because when you get the order and arrive to the customer, another pop up shows up after the delivery showing the the real price of the delivery ($2.09) and the Tip ($2.50) = ($4.59)!!!
    I drove 13 minutes for $4.59… I see why people cherry pick or use multiple delivery apps.😞

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 2 měsíci +2

      I never thought about the pay by time thing so that’s a good point. I agree, multi apping is the way to go because doordash is hiding things and taking away from the drivers wherever they can

  • @tomalderman7598
    @tomalderman7598 Před 4 měsíci +3

    I got to platinum with my first 32 days doing dd. The last week , 90% of my deliveries they have sent me have been garbage. Now my acceptance rate is right at 50%. It was 98% but I was also doing it by time and not by offer. Most of the restaurants take forever here to get the food ready. May just go back to hourly and take forever to deliver.

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Oh man what a bummer. This is the problem with DoorDash. They change things up and cause drivers to take orders that don’t pay and then drivers want to give it up. Sorry my friend

    @noseefood1943 Před 5 měsíci +5

    I’m at 4.96/82/99 but I multi app and can’t schedule enough to meet the rolling 100 deliveries. DD is again trying to force us to deliver more trash. Every new rollout by DD is to screw drivers. Btw my platinum friend says he sees very few lop like once a week maybe…

      @maxwellschneiter Před 5 měsíci

      This is the same problem I have. All my metrics are Platinum level except I can't maintain the 100 deliveries because it's really difficult to get any good shifts through scheduling. I've basically given up on DD as a result, there are better apps in my area that don't require the same amount of BS.

  • @mracer8
    @mracer8 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Ben,, as a top dasher in the old day, you can already accept cratering order if you have catering container. To be honest and trueful, the only difference as a Top Dasher on this program mean instead of taking 2 to 3 crappy(low pay or long distance) a day or just taking everything during last 3-5 days of the month for Top Dasher next month, chance are you will have to take 3-5 crappy order a day in order to keep the above 70% level! This is just a way for DD to get those low end order moving at the expense of every driver who actually need this job! imo

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 4 měsíci

      I was never able to do catering and I have done 10k orders over 4 years, but thats because I never kept my Completion Rate above 95% and for the most part I was below the 70% because of so many bad orders. In Phoenix, Scottsdale, Peoria, Glendale (AZ) I think I could have done what you said and just took what I wanted throughout the month then went 2-4 days taking everything like you said, but now I live in Wichita and if you don’t have Platinum it’s tough to get on dash making it very difficult to bring your ratings up. I do agree this is another carrot to get Dashers to do their bidding and it sucks. Also, I appreciate your view and comments.

  • @MalfunctioningRobot
    @MalfunctioningRobot Před 2 měsíci +2

    All of the “carrots” in this program are for the customers who DO NOT WANT TO PAY ANYTHING TO THEIR DRIVER, which is roughly 50% of them in my market. For the drivers, this program is all “stick”.

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 2 měsíci +2

    3:23 not may mean. You'll be demoted. With this update DD is basically giving the middle finger to anyone who isn't doing it full time. My stats are in line but I fell behind 100 deliveries for rolling 30. Sucks big time. You can schedule a week out but in a week you're way way behind. Squeezing out the part timers. Just gonna cause more orders to sit around.

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I don’t like it either. Making it harder for gig workers especially part timers which is like 60-80% of drivers. I actually don’t like any of these programs. Wish it was like it was in 2019

    I did 107 in 30 days 5 of which I did last night and I woke up this morning and they took 5 of my dashes. Can you explain why

    • @BenWahl-vi6xz
      @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, the 100 orders works off the last 30 rolling days therefore when you went to sleep you may have had 107 but the next day knocked off however many completed orders were on the previous days 1st out of 30 days. Think of it like this:
      OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
      These o’s represent days, but as each new day comes the first day in the lineup falls off so if you had 5 orders that day then you just lost 5 orders from your completed total.
      It changes every day.

Also my 30 day deliveries are down to 52? How do you get back to 100? It’s crazy ! I definitely don’t want to do it at night for safety reasons in KC period! @BenWahl-vi6xz  Před 4 měsíci

      @@Blended247 I’m sorry to hear this. DoorDash is squeezing drivers making us feel forced to accept those bad offers just to keep our AR up. Your AR will fluctuate each offer depending on if you accept or decline. I would say maybe get your AR up high enough to give yourself a cushion and try declining those terrible offers to hopefully get to some good ones. It’s a hard fix because 60-70% of DD offers are $2-5, but maybe it could help.
