Neither! The ONLY way to achieve platinum status is to accept BS offers! Even if you reach platinum status they still send you garbage offers! This ends your independent contractor status because you aren't free to decline a garbage offer without penalty! Stop schilling for Doordash!
This is true plus the only benefit is large orders in I only got one the last 2 months. there must be too many platinum people. So I get a lot of shopping and deliver orders. And I can't see what the customers getting like instacart. So it's like playing Russian roulette. You can get orders with four cases of water and bust your chops. Get under tip by a guy who has a Bentley in his garage.
U all need to get out of the past and stop complaining. Either make the money now or get off the platform. I'm platinum with a full time job and do some every day and I can make 300 plus a week. Every order is not going to be the best and u neednto get out of ur head that u r entitled to good great offers because of ur status. If ur not taking some bad offers then door dash does not have time for u
Correct, I've been saying this all along.
I get no monetary benefit from DoorDash, this video is to my best effort an objective take on my experience dashing on Silver and Gold status. I will always give you my objective take and I will never fluff a platform even if it's sponsored content (which this is not). I am always open to constructive feedback I just want to make that point clear. I've mentioned the concerns you cited about accepting lower offers to maintain that AR. Hope this helps, appreciate you watching
That's how I got you gotta catch em all like Pokémon
Shop and deliver is valuable in my opinion. As long as I ask the workers for help to find items, I tend to spend just as much time picking out groceries as I do in a restaurant waiting for them to get the order ready. At least the time is in my hands in shop and deliver.
đ€« shop & delivers are trash
They're hot and cold I feel, gotta know which are worth it. When they don't have issues yes I can fly through a quick shop and I'm glad I did
@@YourDriverMike keep telling your watchers they suck Mike
Such a great detailed video. Love the editing too
I do not understand DoorDash. I was platinum and rarely got high paying offers. When I got them they were VERY good though. But i dropped to 69% (I need to be 70% for platinum in my region) I didnât worry about it at first. But I then did SIX STRAIGHT ORDERS and it didnât move back up. I then declined another and it dropped to 68% and then did 2 straight orders and didnât move up. Then declined another and it dropped to 67%. This still continued. And Iâm currently at 64% ar. But what sucks is that when I dropped below 70% I went STRAIGHT to silver instead of dropping to gold and I keep getting bullshit orders which causes me to decline them and keeping me in silver. Mike is seeing 48% high offers on SILVER when I was barely seeing that on Platinum. And itâs just crazy to me. DoorDash created a terrible system that hurts drivers. Thank god I multi-app. Iâm taking this weekend to basically just accept all orders regardless of pay for a while so that I can get back to platinum. Most of my money in gig work has been coming from Spark and Instacart lately so my main focus will be on just getting offers and praying for low mileage. But it sucks.
Appreciate that, using a new video editor I'll pass that along
appreciate the video, mike. also, im very happy that you mentioned sample size not being large enough for your to draw any strong conclusions. looks like DD change the algo to actually benefit the drivers that have high AR. anyways, looking forward to your future vids that can give us a more conclusive idea on how much AR/Tiers matter to the average dasher.
I appreciate that! Yes context is key, I have tons of experience with this stuff but my own sampling size is definitely not representative necessarily. Take these videos in addition to your own research etc
Dasher rewards isn't available where I am but it looks like sometimes status doesn't matter as much as they make it out to be. If nobody is tacking on a big tip, it don't matter what your status is, its going to be a low offer due to lack of tip alone.
Good point, yes no bonus pay and low/no tip leads to JUST base pay which is $2-$10 aka how generous is DD feeling
I'm a part time Dasher and I'm at Platinum level. Having a pizza bag, catering bag, red card and completed alcohol delivery training earns me more in 20 hrs then I make at my full time job working 40 hrs. I couldn't even imagine being at silver or gold. I spent one late afternoon and evening basically doing nothing but shops and was able to go home early because I made more money than expected. I have a 85% acceptance rate. 100% completion. 4.9 customer rating. 90% on time deliveries. I turn down all deliveries below $5 unless it's slow or real quick to do.
Iâm platinum with a 96% AR. I only dash for 3 hours on Fridays and on Saturday and Sunday 5-6 hours. I get a lot of big orders that pay more. Anywhere from $10.00-$50.00 and miles are about 9 max usually
do you dash in a city like area?
Successful Platinum level driver making deliveries in a V8. Customers love it âš
California, it's 60% to be silver and 80% to be gold.
What happens when a driver falls below silver status ? Is it like a soft deactivation because the driver wonât be getting any orders
I dash around 20 hrs per week as platinum and have a full time job. Aside from the trash gigs, I do ok with the revenue. I am only hovering around 74% AR because I do tend to decline super garbage offers, but have to eat some to keep this priority placebo.
I noticed DD only takes in considerations $ to miles as being a good offer but not the time it takes to do the offer and some of those offers were bad hourly. Thanks for the video Mike! Looking like cherry picking might be the best option
Iâm a full time Dasher and Iâm already at 120 dashes on the stats
I really like shop & deliver. Lately Iâve been getting $20 to $30 groceries stack orders and I only have a 36% acceptance rate
I'm platinum and i do 3 or 4 dashes a day BUT... I decline like... zero or maybe one every couple weeks. I work for usps so this is my side hustle and I wanna keep top dasher or platinum so I just take whatever it gives me typically. I will say since changing it ti the new tier, I have noticed that my offers have been MUCH better than as a top dasher.
Iâm a trusted dasher and didnât get a single task. Haha! đ
Great content. Keep up the great work Mike!
It's okay...I trust you lol which market? It also did just roll out so look for more coming perhaps
@@YourDriverMike Iâm in the Pittsburgh Market with you man! I tend to enjoy my time in the North Pittsburgh, Cranberry/Wexford or Fox Chapel/Hampton zones.
I have noticed for my area in Arizona gold is super good even when I was starting to get my first 50 delivers done my acceptance rate was at 79% I never get bad offers out here it is really nice canât wait to see what the offers are like if and when I hit platinum
A lot depends on do you multi app, or stick mostly to DD. If you're mostly DD, and it's your only income, a slightly higher hrly with slightly higher dollars/mile makes a huge difference. Also, if you're in an area with a lot of dashers, getting those crap orders during slower times compared to waiting for half an hour for anything at all to come through, makes a big difference
Youâll need a bigger sample size. On Platinum and I only get high offer during lunch break and middle of afternoon. Typically I get at least one to two shop and delvers everyday.
In my market here in New York they bumped Acceptance Rate needed for Silver Status to 60% and Gold/Platinum to 80%... near impossible to achieve now...
I float 350-400 last 30 days and keep AR around 75-80+
A week later? Mike you should be doing this every day
4 hr shifts Fri-Monday all evening shifts (4pm to 8ish) before the program was a easy $100 a night now its about 40-50. I usually get about 10 orders in that shift and now ive fallen behind in staying in plat because of the 100 delivery rolling 30 days. Cant decline anything as the offers are getting worse as ive slipped between silver and gold with my AR going from 95% before the tier to 70%
I love shop & deliver. I honestly turn off food delivery because I will still get them if stacked with a shop & deliver. I had all gold offers today. My acceptance rate is 81%, cust rating 4.98, complete rate 98. Iâm working on last deliveries but I work a w-2 job. I have hit it as part time dasher but I had to do it at least 20 hours a week. But that is hard to maintain when you also work 40 hours at your normal job.
Great video. I just hit gold today and had my best day yet (only 7th day dashing) but passed $100 today and my hourly went up $1. So I think its worth it
Nice job, curious your numbers on your first 30 days vs 2 months vs 3 months when you get there
@@YourDriverMike saved this and will report back
Did u make more with silver or gold
Doordash wants dashers to be employees.
I don't think so, they've lobbied against that and have cited several times over the years they support flexibility. Plus that would incur a lot more costs for them like benefits, paid sick time/vacation time etc. Surveys of Dashers also confirm the vast majority want to remain IC

All I want is shop and pay pretty much. They pay best
Which is best for you: grocery, retail, alcohol or other S&D?
@@YourDriverMike honestly I prefer them all. If I had to choose retail (walgreens) (cvs)
Wait! People still cherry pick orders? That's so wild. They explain to you what you get when you get your rating up. Granted it's not as good as Top Dasher, but that was too good to be true.
I'm platinum. I get great offers. I have an 87 percent AR. I can dash anytime. Once in a while I get a crappy offer, but I get more higher offers.
In my market to get platinum you have to be at 70%
Yes Platinum is 70% AR here as well with the rolling 100 deliveries in 30 days
I am in South Florida. I really want to bring up my AR, but it's so hard. All i get are upside down orders, really sucks.
Itâs been a year and Iâm still in the 30âs acceptance rate
At 74%ar i had to accept 113 in a row before doordash changed my acceptance rate to 100%
I dash about 20 hours a week but I also have my 40 hour job
Pizza places destroy my AR. All those miles for only base pay sucks. I do just enough to stay in platinum and stay far as possible away from the pizza places.
I'm at 4% AR and get high paying orders all day long... its more about understanding exactly why the app chooses a driver over another... AR isn't #1 on the list
How many high paying offers do you say you accept a day and in how many hours ( on average)? Just curious
@@Cinderblockfeet12 I've been doing this industry full time for 9 years, I'm averaging over $14 a delivery for the year. I rarely have to work past 8 hours to hit my goals.
Curious as well what % of your total offers are high paying and are they more than the figures I showed here?
@YourDriverMike so a few things to help answer additional questions as well. High paying to me is more than $2 a mile. I would say 40-50% that I see on DD fall into this. Why isn't my AR higher? Just because it's $2 a mile or better, doesn't mean it's a good idea or the best option. I multi app and DD always sends me orders in the opposite direction of the orders I've already accepted on other apps. I generally have multiple deliveries at once running 4-5 apps at once.
Answer is platinum!
I would imagine you'll certainly get a higher volume of higher paying offers it's just that 70% AR combined with the 100 deliveries in 30 days. It's tricky but ultimately comes down to the math of does it make you more money.
ââ@@YourDriverMikewhen you hit Platinum at 70-75 AR.. there's not much difference.. you do get better offers at 80-90AR.. but if you go say 93+ then you start seeing these huge miles with payout that just doesn't make sense to accept. I have dropped shop n pay.. dropped pizza in my zone due to the local Papa John's manipulating the orders and giving DD drivers the worst orders
Chasing that Acceptance rate in the Tiered System is fruitless with all these trash orders that need to be declined. I think that DoorDash should change their system that benefits the driver as well as cost no financial loss to DoorDash. Those offers that pay less than $5 and those less than at least $1.50 per mile; if you accept-counts as 2 accepted orders instead of one. Does that sound sane to you? DoorDash is not losing money and those orders are more enticing to accept.
Another thing they should change is figuring out what a hi paint order is they define it by $2 a mile regardless of how long it takes to do a shop and deliver order. To them it's the fine by $2 a mile and believe me there's a lot of shity shop and deliver orders that they claim that their high paying orders.
I go back and forth between Gold and Platinum, I get great orders on Gold, once I switch to Platinum, I start getting $2-$3 every time! It sucks!
Which is odd because that'll just make you dash less bc the only difference is the 100 deliveries on rolling 30 days
I am dashing about 25 hours a week. I am silver at 64 ar.
The reason it's useless to analyze the metrics to this high degree is there is no rhyme or reason to the kinds of offers drivers get. This is due to drivers not being able to alter things like marketing, sales, promotions or any aspect of DoorDash's operations. The only thing we suggest to do is try different areas around your main dashing location to get more/better orders.
Iâm not a Dasher just thinking about it. I hear something that bothers me and I donât understand. How is it that youâre likely to get less tips when youâre getting paid by the hour. Sounds like to me. DoorDash is keeping part of the Tips unless the tip goes over a certain amount or something. Customers either gonna tip or theyâre not gonna tip they donât know whether youâre driving by the hour or not that has nothing to do with the customer tipping I would not Think.
The thing about earn by time, they send you the low/no tip orders that no one else wants or takes. That's why you get less tips, they were orders without a tip to begin with. That's what earn by time is designed for, to clean up all the low tip orders. Sometimes you get lucky and there is a good tip on an order, just by chance.
The onlybway to cherry pick is to multi app
Stop playing DDâs games! Take only the offers that make sense for you!
