      He was a joker all right. Him and Senna were in a helicopter and Berger opened the door and threw Senna’s Louis Vuitton bag out the helicopter and it Sennas car keys, wallet passport everything in it. Then another story that he dared Ron Dennis to eat these hot chilli’s. During the night Ron Dennis had to take a dump and his backside was burning so bad he had to turn on the shower and take off the shower head and aim the water where the sun don’t shine.

    Gerhard Berger was the one to whom Ayrton expressed his concerns about the Tamburello corner and they talked about the possiblity of pushing the wall back but there was a river behind the wall so it couldnt be altered, but I'm surprised that they never discussed the possibility of putting a tyre barrier and a gravel trap at that corner to make any crashes less severe. Regarding the Eddie Irvine and Ayrton Senna issue, Irvine wrongly overtook Ayrton which made him furious as he was in the lead and Irvine had already been lapped hence the reason he saw red and punched him. It just goes to show that even laidback and reserved people can lose their tempers from time to time but when you are involved in an intense sport like Formula One, the level.of intensity is off the charts.

    I’m a die hard Senna fan but his legend grew after his death. I’m not convinced he wins in 94. We’ll never know. It wouldn’t have been easy at all. And Benetton was banned for multiple races just to close in the points and make it interesting. Such was Bernie’s F1. 96 and 97 were only Williams years bc Schumacher left Benetton for Ferrari. Revisionist history a little bit. But a common perception.

    • @rkk578
      @rkk578 Před 28 dny

      I think you're the first Senna fan I heard saying this. It would have been close for sure, despite the 30-0 after Imola. Unfortunately we will never know what the outcome would have been.

    • @Dashriprock4
      @Dashriprock4 Před 13 dny

      I think with the updates to the car at the Spanish Grand Prix and afterwards it would have been highly competitive. Honestly Benetton was just a better team as it relates to pit stops and singular focus on Schumacher. I think Michael would have pipped Senna in '94. 95 would have been immense with the Benetton having the Renault engine and a revised and and quick William's car. Had Senna stayed 96 and 97 would have been his easily. Unfortunately we will never know. I say all this as a prost fan but with a intense dislike of Michael. So there's my prejudices up front...

    • @byza101
      @byza101 Před 5 dny +1

      Mate, if Hill pushed Schumacher all the way to Adelaide, Ayrton would have had it wrapped up 2-3 races before… Benetton got caught cheating, so that still would have happened.

    • @nicorsar
      @nicorsar Před 4 dny

      @@byza101 it wasn’t cheating. I mean everyone knows they WERE cheating using traction control but the penalty was Schumacher overtaking Hill on a formation lap, ignoring black flags and getting two race penalty for it. Bernie basically evened the field with a thirty point penalty for that series of events. That’s what made it close. Benetton still had the better car in head to head battles. That was my only point.

    • @byza101
      @byza101 Před 2 dny

      @@nicorsar gaining an unfair advantage is cheating. It might not be serious, but if the rules say you can’t do it, and you do it to gain advantage then that is cheating. Bit like when Schuey turned into Hill, it was done to gain unfair advantage…. And by the second half of the season Williams were competitive against Benetton, so it’s not hard to imagine Senna getting comfortable with the car by then and absolutely wringing the neck of it.
