  • This was A Great Day in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. On that morning I did the usual walk and run in the park. Then we visited my uncle in Las Marias. Then we visit San Sebastian to visit friends. They have small chickens and roosters. They have oranges, chironjas, and naranjas and I bring some home. I also test a little ron cañita. Later I fly my DJI Phantom drone in the area for some great footage. The song over the drone video is sung by my father Rocky Duran.

Love your videos....love coquis......thank you so much...hope for us to come visit for our 50th anniversary this November...we live in Oklahoma but lived in Hawaii for 6 years and miss the tropics. Lots of family here in OK so that makes it hard to move but as we get older, we have to figure out what we really want....maybe just winters in a warm place? Oh and the bananas! Our best friend in Hawaii was Jackie Hernandez, came to Hawaii in the military...passed away last year..but we love our memories. Best person we have ever known.

Lol I remember as a kid my grandmother had a sack by the kitchen door full of China s. She made fresh orange juice every day.
I asked my mom the other day if she had heard of your father. And she said she had. I told her he is on the radio on Sunday but didn't remember the radio station. She loves listening to the radio. I always ask her about the weather and tell her the temperature here. She laughs. She doesn't miss the weather here at all. Lol Awesome vlog. Peace!!

He was 19 when I was born. Still very young and he preserves very well to this day. Yes, you did spell Ponce and Lares correctly. I feel different when I arrive the island. At peace and with no worries. I highly recommend you do a trip to the island. You do have family there, lots of them. Look for second and third cousins and pay them a visit. There must be a connection somewhere. If you put some time aside and start planning now, you can be there by next year. I am planning another trip now, for July. And Ponce is on my list again.

Originally in Puerto Rico it was called oranges from China ( Naranjas de la China ) but eventually people cut the name to Chinas and so stayed until today. We call Naranjas to another variety that is bitter and we use to make a typical sweet. So here the sweet variety is China and the bitter Naranja.
