I saw the movie and it was great. I hope the movie gets their money with physical release sales, Video On Demand and streaming.
(Scotland, GB here) This film is based on the same unit my grandad was in, in WW2. I wanted to take my dad to see it at the local cinema. I've seen an illegal copy of the film, it's not totally historically accurate, but definately enough to enjoy and give you an insight at what they got up to. It should be in British cinemas. I may be biased. lol

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare STILL isn't even on Prime yet in Canada, so I have no idea why it wasn't put in theatres.
And who knows when it'll drop, another week, two months? No one knows!
I'm in Australia it's not coming here either. The cast is wild.. it's an amazing looking movie we are looking forward to seeing it in the theater.
OMG IM GUTTED 💔💔💔 This was a Movie designed for the big screen with surround sound and the atmosphere of the cinema I haven't really wanted to go to the movies since The big C but we were all geared up for this one. I have Amzon Prime but this is a sucky move from the ballbags that made this decision 😫

Huh, no sign of this movie coming to theatres in my country (Malaysia) either. Meanwhile we got a time limited re-release of Top Gun 2 and Mission Impossible DR1.
I wanted to watch this movie in the cinema, I was happy to pay. But even though I am an Amazon Prime member, I'll not be watching this via their service. As soon as it is released on AP to stream, it'll be available elsewhere to watch ... and I'll chose that option. I don't want give Amazon my "click footprint" on it.

Yeah I’ve been talking this up to everyone based on reports that it was going to be in theatres only to find out the week before it was supposed to come out that it wasn’t. I’m not going to lie it’s left a really bad taste in my mouth. I’ll wait for dvd, which I was always going to buy.

Not Henry Cavill. all Guy Ritchie movies after the pandemic prime video bought the rights for the worldwide release on streaming.
The cinema experience for me is ruined. Due to having TV commercials, too many movie trailers. I wait for most of the movies that I am looking forward to coming out on 4K BluRay. Then I can enjoy them for way less money and I can watch it the way I like to watch.
It was screening on premium formats last week but now im seeing less showtimes and regular screenings only around my area

Saw it and loved it. Shocked however it didn't open up the UK and other international countries ala why the very low box office takings its had worldwide, which is over $10 million to date
Now that we’re past the pandemic I really must ask, what is the point of studios rushing to get movies onto streaming? We’re not in lockdown anymore people, there’s no need for that now, movies are releasing in theaters again and everything is back to normal, doing it now just makes you seem like you enjoy burning money, so again I really gotta ask, why are we still doing it?
I doubt anyone will get Prime to see this if they dont already have it

I was excited to see this movie, but when I can't watch it in theaters I generally do not watch movies streaming. It sucks that it only on prime. I would have watched roadhouse in theaters opening weekend if it was released in theaters. I still haven't watch it.
Why would a company want to disturbed a movie what are the profits.
Well it's much cheaper then making the movie itself so it would be easier to make their money back and make a profit from it.
Props to you Robert. Citing Odeon cinemas and snakebites. Concessions are far better in the UK also. I remember seeing T2, Raiders, empire strikes back and Total Recall at the Odeon Leicester Square. Fantastic nights out.

This is bullshit!!! I've been looking forward to this movie for over a year, and now it's not showing in Canada!!!
It seems like the movie was missing a major studio needed to give it worldwide theatre distribution, hence direct to video…..seems like Lionsgate screwed up……perhaps because they didn’t want to spend the necessary marketing dollars.
Appreciate you raising the question, but that doesn't really tell us the "why"; only the "how". I haven't seen the movie yet so I can only speculate: was there certain political content in it that could potentially be considered inflammatory in those countries?
It throughly deserved a UK release. The release window in US was crazy small before vod.
As of May 23, there is still no release date on any VOD platform, including Amazon here in Canada.

LIVE-ACTION Mulan and Cruella should have been theater released too.
Both Cruella & Mulan came out during the pandemic and wouldn’t have much anything. They also used them as a test
Cruella *was* theatrically released, however it got a simultaneous Disney Plus release. Now idk if it was put only on D+ in some markets, but overall it did get a wide theatrical release and, while it failed to break even, it made a bit more than its production budget. Ultimately though, many agree its D+ availability hurt its box office (plus it was one of the first major films to get a wide theatrical release since the pandemic began). As for Mulan, unless they had decided to delay for another year, it never stood a chance
UK here. I travel a lot for work so don’t ever use streaming services anymore. I can make an evening of going to the cinema, but I’m not gonna watch a blockbuster on my iPad in my hotel room. Really bad decision from Amazon as I probably won’t watch this now for months after it’s released
