  • In this video I explain the similarities and differences between the different Roomba models. All the Roombas except the Newest iRobot Roomba S9+ has a similar design and functions. The Cheapest WiFi enabled e5 uses a Random Navigation Pattern, where the more expensive models like the i7+, i8+ and s9+ use smart mapping aka iAdapt 3.0.

    Hi, Nathan, thank you for making these videos. I bought a Yeedi on your rec as my first robot vaccum, and how I am hooked. I noticed you have light (cold air in the winter) coming under your front door. Maybe you have tried to adjust this, but your doorsill appears to have adjustments to help fix this. With the door open you should see flat head screw features, turn those and the sill should move up, sealing the gap.

    I am debating between the i3 and e5. I am not too worried about the difference in price, but I have seen the e5 on many lists of best Roombas whereas I didn't see the i3 on any. However, the multidirectional pattern and restart ability of the i3 interest me. Sidenote I do have pets. Can you offer your advice? Thank you!

    Hello, I like your videos very much, even if my English is unfortunately not very good 👍 I fluctuate between the i7 (voice control and rubber roller good for hair? But in the tests rather behind Roborock & Ecovacs), the t8 without AIVI (voice control , good navigation, automatic carpet detection, but the app is not that good) and the Roborock s6 MaxV (good app, lots of software updates, reliable, but the filter is more difficult to clean than on the t8 and what about long hair? I currently prefer but rather the s6 MaxV before the t8 and the i7. What do you think as a professional? which ranking for the 3 models? Greetings

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 3 lety +2

      I would rate the I the Top in regards of pet hair pickup and easy removal. Can't wash the filter which is possible on the S6 Max V. The T8 has every possible feature, self emptying system, vibrating mopping system. The S6 Max V has the best navigation. So it depends on what features you are looking for.

      @@RobotMasters okay, than with long hair (human hair) would the t8 be more suitable? Can the filter of the t8 be cleaned? Then the t8 would be more suitable than the S6 MaxV? and what about the Roomba i7? is the t8 better because it is newer? Many greetings

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 3 lety

      @@XxBSExX All 3 robots can pickup long hair. I found the i7 dual extractor bar the easiest to remove the long hair. The T8 has the most features over the other two robots. Between the Two it really depends on what you are looking for. The T8 has the Lidar navigation which it allows it to clean effectively in complete darkness amzn.to/3l2F4G0
      The i3 is good if you have a very messy floor plan. Can handle a lot dirt and debris. Also the dual extractor bar does a good job picking up hair and very easy to clean. Here a few other recommendations too.
      If you want the best navigation the Roborock S6 MaxV is on sale
      amzn.to/361HgcG
      The S5 Max is cheaper and for goes the front camera but offers similar cleaning performance. amzn.to/3pSWUzb
      The Ecovacs T8 non aivi is a little cheaper but doesn't use a front camer for object avoidance. Also can't be used as a mobile security camera of have one way audio to speak to your pets when you are away. The T8 AIVI has all of those things
      Lastly the Ecovacs T8 series supports a vibrating mopping module and self emptying system.

    Hi Nathan, I need your help. My sisters birthday is coming up in February and I need help choosing which robot would be best for her. Her house is mainly hardwood with a few small area rugs, has 2 floors, and is about 1700 square feet. I have chosen that I want to give her the Braava M6, but I am not sure what robot vacuum would be best for her. I have narrowed it down to 2, the Roomba i3, Samsung Powerbot r7040. I am on a budget of under $350 for the vacuum, since the rest of the money will be spent on the braava jet. Because you know more than I do, if there is another robot under $350 that you think would be better, that would be helpful. She does not care about the braava jet connecting to the robot, but she does what smart mapping. Thank you!

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 3 lety

      So I been using the Roborock S4 Max, Roborock latest model that was released. With the Roborock models you get smart mapping and the Max version allows better multi level support, something that important since she has two levels. It currently on sale $90 off amzn.to/3mOyLXx
      Now the i3 is something you were looking at. Keep in mind there no smart mapping aka being able to tell the robot to clean a certain room or area. You also don’t get keep out zones via the app, have to use the light house. If you can forgo the smart mapping than the i3+ is a good robot that you can add a self cleaning option latter on.
      So another recommendation that would be good for your sister’s floor plan is 360 s7 amzn.to/3aC6UYi
      Offers the smart mapping and multi floor support. Also the 360 models have very good navigation and reliability. I owned the 360 for several years without issues, and been using the 360 s9. The S9 is more expensive but since you are planning on getting a braava jet, the mopping on the S9 not necessary, so the s7 a better choice.
      So those are the two robots I recommend that have good and easy to use multi level floor support, have good cleaning performance and navigation abilities. Lastly has all the smart mapping features you will need.
