I've never heard someone say Lesnar ending the streak was the smartest possible. Taker didn't think he should, because Lesnar was already over, he didn't need the push and Lesnar for the most part agreed with him, but Vince wanted it and Taker was a loyal company man to the end. Ultimately he wished he could have dropped the streak to Reigns instead as that was who he wanted to help get over, he wanted the streak to either be used to push someone career to the next level, or remain unbroken to leave a bigger legacy, he got neither.

However im glad it was lesnar over reigns. Reigns is also already made with his bloodline storyline. Overall i do think it helped Lesnar get this very godlike booking that was unique. He was not only a former UFC champion but also ended the undertaker at mania. It made this aura around him that paid off at summerslam 2014 when he absolutely murdered Cena.

Bret was also responsible for Stone Cold Steve Austin getting the push he did. Bret pushed for him backstage. Also the Undertaker was responsible for the Rocks first WWE World title run. WWE wanted to put the title on the Rock. But Shawn Micheals and HHH found out they felt he shouldn't get a title run and used their power backstage to get Vince not to do it. Undertaker felt the Rock was good enough to get a title run went to Vince and convinced Vince to ignore DX. That one comes from the Rock himself

The Rock was always pretty sefless when it came to the victories of some of the wrestlers he worked with. Foley, Jericho, Kurt Angle & Brock Lesnar's first WWE title victories came from beating The Rock. As soon as he was established as a main event guy in the late 90's he could take a loss & it wouldn't affect his star power.

I'm always torn with the Undertaker streak ending like it did. I get it needs to end and what a great push it would be to a younger talent, what I'm torn about is dropping it to Brock, don't get me wrong he is a great talent, my issue is even at that time he was a on again off again "Sports Entertainer" ideally you want it to go to a talent that is more dedicated to the company, that being said at that time I don't know any talent that was better suited to drop the streak too and with Takers age and decline in performance it was not something to be pushed off.
There are so many great wrestlers who know the business and despite being at the top they understand needing their fame to be smudged a bit to give a huge push to a newer / younger talent.

The definition of “putting someone over” is all over the place in this video tbh. Taker agreeing to have his streak end at Wrestlemania 30 wasn’t about putting someone over, it pretty much was Taker showing respect to McMahon. The same man who gave Taker a chance and he is willing to do what is asked of him because of that. Plus Brock breaking the streak still wasn’t the “right” choice cuz Brock was already made. He didn’t need the win nor would it have hindered him at all. It just made for a surprising moment and if anybody should of broke the streak it should of been Roman or Bray Wyatt. Especially for Roman, breaking the streak could of easily made him a heel like the fans wanted.
