A great band, Mick Tucker was one of the best drummers to ever sit behind a kit.
Mick was a terrific drummer. just second to none! it's a shame that people only mention Ian Paice and John Bonham as great drummers. I'm sure Mick is no worse! He deserves to be on the top of top drummers list!
He sure was! So sad he passed 20 years ago. He will be greatly missed. His talent will live on through these videos though. RIP Mick.🖤💔

Brian who is amazing as a lead singer, had the best background singers. What an amazing band! Sadly, three out of four are no longer with this, but the will live in the hearts of true Sweet fans.

@@scottqualls7690 Sweet was doing that style of vocals before Queen was, but Andy Scott mentioned in an interview that when they heard the very high vocals in Bohemian Rhapsody (which had only just been released) and the press were comparing Queen with Sweet, making it out like it was some kind of competition, Andy said "Right, I think we can go higher than that."
Yes did that vocal layers thingy in 1970. Check out Sweet's 'Stairway to the Stars', there's some extreme level of this stuff, they indeed went higher than Roger Taylor. I don't know who did this high notes in Sweet, my guess - it's Priest.

I love lots of other bands, but Sweet is the best of all the rest. Brian had such awesome voice and great front man, other members were great of their expertise also. In my opinion, Sweet was better than Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, (I do love these bands too)but Sweet had/got it all and just can't get enough of/from Sweet (no joke), never get tired listening/watching them performed. And yes, that's right NO ONE COULD TAKE YOUR PLACE, BRIAN ! Sweet was not the same without you.🤩💖

Yes Brian had a great voice but Steve's backup made Sweet such a special band. The harmonies were just mesmerizing and must have been an inspiration for Queen.

My favorite era. These guys were at their best when they were producing their own music, which allowed their abilities to really shine.

Brilliant live band. Saw them for the first time at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester in the summer of 1973, in my last year at school. People compared them with Queen but these guys were, in my opinion, a level or two above Queen. They loved their fans too and it showed.
I'm jealous!!! You saw them at the height of their powers. And, yes, they were so overlooked yet so powerful. Only think they're getting the kudos now. They should've conquered US with their original music. Those harmonies were ground breaking and they explored / invented so much in hard rock. Queen were ok but Sweet tunes still make the hairs on my neck stand up!
Queen in my opinion, for what its worth, are a poor mans sweet, Fred was a legend and as charismatic a front man as any, but the talent in depth of Sweet makes them a cut above not just Queen, but pretty much any band, and as for seeing these guys live, just wow, to have heard Tucker smashing those drums live would be amazing, i could go on, but i wont bore everyone
