I'm 65...ditto !!
66 here, seems like yesterday.
They're amazing. I love all their tunes even the bubblegum pop ones. I always liked them but didn't appreciate them enough. I do now I'm 60!
62 the same here
Sweet never got the praise that they deserved......top band

So true. Imagine today’s equipment, and recording methods. The WHOLE BAND was ahead of it’s time!!!🤘🕊❤️🤘
These live performances at Musikladen really show how great of a drummer Mick is, very underrated for his advanced and unique skills. They were pioneers, looking through each year of their music it was always changing, going from pop to hard rock, and they kept the fun glam rock look throughout all of it too. RIP

This is a seriously fucking good song.

Mick Tucker, criminally underrated drummer.
He was a Tommy Lee before Tommy Lee was Tommy Lee 👍🎶🙃
The whole band is crimillay underrated.

Queen ripped these guys off, amongst other bands the same thing, Shame !
They ALL have equally great voices. Brian and Steve sound similar and amazing together.
Steve hat aber die höhere Stimmlage.
Can’t stop watching this. What a band they were. Great. All of them. Oh and Steve . . 🥰
Our man Steve has also shed his mortal coil and joined Mick and Brian in R&R Valhalla.
Mick Tuckers drumming style and timing is impeccable.
I could watch Mick Tucker on the drums all day. I've seen some very good drummers in my time. Mick was up there with the very best. His style of drumming was pure class. He was one of a kind in my view.
I never get tired of watching this video. I've been a fan since I was 9 years old (1974) and only heard their popular songs. Fox on the Run was my favourite, now its No You Don't. Definitely the most underrated band of their era.
The Healer?
It's Steve Priests song... He shares vocals here live with Brian 💞
Not underrated IN their era tho. They were frikken mega huge everywhere. Well except the US.
I have seen them live 1975 in Stuttgart Germany. My first concert ever. ❤
@@ingridthurner3651 🙂✌️✨😁👍🎵📻🎶☮️🌜✨🌛
Mick Tucker was an absolute Ace Drummer. One of the very best ever to come out of England.
I couldn’t agree more. Definitely one of the most underrated musicians of our time quite frankly. Certainly a legitimate pioneer of the rock n roll genre. It becomes so obvious how much both he and the band in general influenced the entire genre when you see just how many prolific musicians emulated what The Sweet were doing long before anyone else was doing it.
@@dionst.michael5818 Great backing vocals too. Reminiscent of Roger Taylor but even better.
@@josephgurzynski1053 They were phenomenal. The range they seemed to employ with ease was incredible. I don’t think enough is said about these guys. I really don’t think they get the recognition they truly deserve.
Yeah he was a monster, very Keith Moon-ish.
I still believe the Sweet were the best band of the early 70s. And the 70s were the best years of my life!
Sweet was absolutely one of the best around.....And yes...The 70's was awesome for me too..!! 😊👍
I was born in Ireland in 1960 and in my early teens I was a huge sweet fan. And yes the seventies were the best I had such a great time in my teenage years

Hi! I know that Sweet was the most underrated band!!! I was only about 10-12 years old, when The Sweet was on top. Now, as an adult, I found them again here in CZcams and I´m HAPPY, so HAPPY!!!! I love them!!!!! What is your favorite band member? And the favorite song? I love them all, but Stevie is my favorite and The Sixteens. Where are you from? Happy weekend to you and your loved ones :) from Finland!!!!
Love The Sweet, especially 70’s era. Man they were great!!
I dont like to call any one band/artist/song the greatest. But these four incredible guys (SWEET) are the greatest for me. They made being here on planet earth a blast!. . All hail SWEET. GOD bless!. I love you. And, thankyou 😊x
I agree. I'm happiest when I listen to their music. Miss them so much.
this is verging on early punk, fab.
I totally agree. Thank you is appropriate. I think Desolation Blvd is equal to Led Zeppelin 2. Desolation is one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded. Guitar players know this.
Never cared much for the glam stuff or silly songs, but these guys were absolute killers when they got serious !
Mick Tucker is a total killer on drums !
Holy crap this performance by ALL of them is absolute 🔥🔥🔥 and that bass and drums, wow!..... and beautiful Brian all in white what a lovely view of him from the back 2:25 and 2:40🥰🥰 Then the incredible Mick Tucker flipping his sticks off twice and his cute laugh when it happened. What a great drum break 2:28
That's what made Mick so likeable is that he could laugh at himself. He never seemed to take himself too seriously in these videos and that's very refreshing. You can tell he really loves playing. I also agree about the back view of Brian. Sexy!
R.I.P. Steve The Guvnor Priest. Most underrated band in rock. Period.
So much passion in Brian's voice...all of their voices, really. But damn man...I must have lived under a rock to just discover Sweet now.
If you haven't listened to Give Us a Wink yet, do it now.
Yo también !!!!!

Believe it or not, Sweet was my very 1st concert: 14yrs old, 1974. My little sister was there, too..before we got too old to hang out anymore
..
@@davidsteber7601 My favourite album aswell!
Considering that 'The Sweet' began their career with the typical hit songs from the ubiquitous pop hit writers and producers Chinn and Chapman, it was amazing how they changed their music over the time. This is a perfect example how varied their music was.
Strange as it seems this is a Chinn & Chapman song !
True ❤
They absolutely could rock out very heavy as they do here-they weren’t really a bubblegum pop group as they were often labelled.
Fuck me, that's a real live performance of Sweet. I thought it never existed. That is great!

There were 3 peaches crates full of albums and slave was in there also.

One of the best things on You Tube. Sweet were my first love and I’ve come full circle. Brian Connolly was male perfection. No one twirls a drumstick like Mick. When compared to the crap we’re subjected to these days, well there is no comparison. RIP dear Brian and Mick.

I can't understand why there are rap performers in the Rock and Roll hall of fame and not these guys. I read why the say some rap or hip hop performers in the hall but come on. They are in Rock hall but is Rock in rap hall of fame? hell no. They should be in.
I support absolutely!!!
PC and EO liberals and progressives running the R&R HoF.
Because it's turned into a total shit show as u can tell with the shit that's being inducted in. It's nothing more than a PC shit show trying to PUSH "diversity". Little to nothing to do with good rock n roll.
Rrhof is a joke. It means NOTHING.
Cool video. Always loved this song, cool to see it raw live 🤘
Great band sweet
Ha, ha, Mick Tucker twirls the stick in his right hand, while doing a drum fill with his left hand and bass pedal around the 1:22 mark. He really was/is an outstanding drummer -- great fills.
I noticed that, too. That was awesome! Fantastic drummer.
Mick Tucker was a giant drummer!!
Yeah! He was the Best in the Seventies. Btw. Steve was an excellent Bassist !
Great drummer, no argument there, but "...the best in the 70's" - seriously?! Never heard of John Bonham?
For me, John Bonham is THE Drummer...you can see him in my youtube photo profile! :-) But Mick Tucker surprised me...I know the album "Sweet Fanny Adams", but, I did not think he was such a great live drummer!
JB and Neil Peart cannot be compared to anyone. They are above reality. Everyone else are just men. The Sweet were as tight as they come. All you need do is look at Queen's success and attribute all of it to these guys. They took original complex music, copied it and rose to the top. While guys toiled in mediocrity in the US. Sad story.
of Course; but there play different Music.
What a great band. Heavy metal in the beginnings.❤
Mick Tucker is absolutely phenomenal🤘🤘🤘🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🥃🌿🌿🌿😎

When I heard that Steve had gone this was the first song I thought of. RIP Steve. These guys never got the credit they deserved and should have been up there with Purple and Sabbath
Their reputation was ruined by stuff like WigWam Sam. They never recovered from having to sing that crap.
