Mick Tucker is a great drummer!! Andy Scott is a great guitar player, Steve Priest is a great bass player , Brian Connolly is a great front man and Singer. They all can sing great. Put them all together and you have one of the greatest bands of all time!! Sweet deserves to be recognized and they belong in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!! Long live Sweet forever!!🎤🎸🎵🎹🥁
Dianne Carpenter spot on such a great era and the sweet are the stand out group , the seventies ohh to be able to go back , truly happy times. Woodroffe
Brian Connoly is not a great front man, he just stands there he does not really interact with the crowd if you're a good front man you need to interact with the crowd you know find that one person that's not getting off on your show and make them get off. Now I'm not saying that Brian Connolly can't sing, he does that quite well he just needs to interact more with his band and more with the crowd. it's a shame he won't be able to do that now ,maybe the guys up in heaven will teach him. Hey you know if there's a rock and roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band, and what he doesn't know they'll teach him. Rest in peace all good members of sweet, and Andy Scott we're still glad you're around and you're a hell of a guitar player., And a great singer. Andy if you read any reviews on yourself I compare you guys to Queen I said if I could compare these guys to anybody it would be Queen with their vocals in the way they all collaborate with each other. Fantastic . You guys rocked
@@mariannemctaggart3373 Have you seen Brian Connolly and the original Sweet in concert?🎤🎸🎵🥁
@@diannecarpenter7718 I'm sorry to say no I have not .but some his videos I can see that he doesn't do much action on stage as like some other bands do and I'm not saying theyre not a great band because they are an excellent band I really like them a lot I just wish Brian Connolly was a little more of a showman he had a beautiful voice they all had excellent voices I compare them to Queen and queen did an interview once and said that they are influenced by Sweet they are very underrated people don't give them the credit that they deserve I love them I think Steve priest and Andy Scott play together great and we're able to interact with each other. check out the song Sweet fa you will see how well they work together. I am in no way bad-mouthing the band the band is fantastic I'm just simply saying that Brian Connolly could have been a little bit more involved that's all.
@@diannecarpenter7718 have you had the pleasure of seeing them,
Why is no one talking about how awesome Andy Scott's voice sounds and those badass guitar riffs and bass riffs
brian who? 😂
I thought that…should have done more.
The stick twirl in one hand while drinking with the other. How cool is Mick Tucker. Just an amazing drummer 🥰
Yes ,unfogeteble
Hoe d you what hé is Drinking?
That's where Tommy Lee got it from..
I miss this level of power, talent, sheer musicianship and, equally, humour. This band are too important to ever let slip out of the public eye
Agree!
Ladies and gents, one of the greatest drummers ever, RIP
The greatest
Sadly this is the side of the Sweet that we didn't get to see very often, they were such a great band.
I have said on another video that I saw both versions of the band. The teenybopper version were excellent and entertaining, but I went and saw them two years later and they had reverted to their original style of playing, which they are so obviously happier doing. Those doubting Brian's input during a live gig are wrong - he was belting it out far better than a lot of contemporary 'heavy bands' singers were [and that includes Geordie ,whose lead singer went on to other things apparently...........]. Don't forget he had to be the 'pretty boy too :)
First time I have ever seen the raw side of Sweet and it's unbelievably amazingly mindblowing.
Why the hell didn't they stay on this road from the beginning, they were a real rock band ?
It's the flip side.
Agree 🤟🤟🤟🤟😻✌️💋
What an absolute amazing talented drummer Mick Tucker was. He left this world far too early.
So true. Ah, the good die young as they say.
Agreed
Mick Tucker was beyond phenomenal. Why is he so underrated??? In fact why are Sweet as a whole so underrated??? They ROCKED!
Can't belive this is from 1974, this drumsolo is so ahead of the time
all innovative great things was done in seventeens man, didn't you know?
Drum solos were common back then.::...usually they were an unwelcome addition to a song....check out Deep Purple. Made in Japan for unnecessary Drum solos....also Yes on one or two songs from Yessongs
One of the best drummers, and highly underrated.
Holy shit raw sweet don’t get any better
Einfach Genial !!!! Für mich mit einer der besten Rockbands!!! Love Sweet Sweet Forever!! R.I.P Brian Mick und Steve 😥 so Traurig
Pure Drumming GENIUS!.. Love you Mick ✌😎
R.I.P. BRIAN,MICK and STEVE...🙏😔🎼🎸🤘Greets,from an 61 Year old (Born in 1960) SWEET Fan from GERMANY 🇩🇪 😎
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mick Tucker in the summer of 1990 in San Diego, California. He was an amazing person, a real gentleman, and probably the most underrated drummer in rock history. Truth is, Mick was an amazing drummer and will never be forgotten by those who knew the incredibly humble human being he was and his brilliant, unparalleled talent. Long live the memory of Mick Tucker and the music of Sweet.
he never spoke too much in interviews so its hard to see his character - was he shy like brian or how was he when you approached him?
Mick was a phenomenal drummer ❤
❤
Vom feinsten echt!👏👏👏👏👏👏Asdrein boah so Megageil!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mick Tucker is probably the most underrated drummer ever. Fact is that he was one of the best. World class top notch drummer.
+Justin Case Absolutely. Technique, knowledge, entertaining showmanship and genuine poise behind the kit, power, sensitivity, inventiveness , seemingly boundless energy and also being possessed of a commanding presence ... Mick was a fabulous drummer !
+TheHumbuckerboy I agree with your comments !!!!! He was unique !!!!!!!
Yes, it is a shame that his name isn't mentioned enough whenever people are discussing all-time great rock drummers because Mick deserves to be placed right up there amongst the best ever IMO.
have to admit Justin, never seen this footage before but this is breath taking good.........the man with the golden arm wowwwww
He is all of those things. I can't remeber exactly who said it but it may have been Andy Scott, but whoever it was said of Mick that, "He was the best little drummer this country has ever produced." (OWTTE).
Considering Mick's contemporaries, high praise indeed. Cozy Powell, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ian Paice, Nick Mason are 4 or 5 of his contemporaries that readily come to mind. Mick Tucker is rarely included in such lofty company but for the life of me - and probably you, I don't understand why ??
What a legend. What a time keeper. What a master of the beat. Amazing how he could drum and twirl his drum stick (longer than others I have seen at) the same time. Pure entertainment. Truly the man with the golden arm. Sadly gone before his time. His legacy to music still lives on.
Forever a big part of our hearts 💕 !!
Because twirling a fucking drumstick means you HAVE to be a great drummer, right? Look at all the great drummers, Baker, Paice, Bonham, Moon, Powell Starr etc. they didn't/don't, do fancy twirls they just play great drums.
@@CB-xr1eg Fool. He didn't just twirl the drumsticks as you put it. He could really play. He had fantastic style and his timing was impeccable. I saw 3 of those others you mention above playing live at various concerts during my youth. Although very good they did not match Mick Tucker in my honest opinion. He could also sing very well which is something the others couldn't do. The fact that he could twirl those sticks the way he did during his drumming sessions and still keep up with his timing and rhythm was an indication of just how good he was. I actually remember as a teenagers around 1972 time, Mick tucker been described by some critics as one of the best young drummers to come out of England.
Mick was such an innovative cool drummer to watch and listen to. I wish I got to meet him. I saw Sweet live in NYC in 1990 at The Cat Club. Mick was larger then life and the way he commanded the kit and played Action (and all their other hits) was unbelievable!! He really had it all - time, feel, technical skills, creative fills and a amazing voice. RIP Mick Tucker
Wow you were lucky. I agree that he did have a great voice also. I wish he could have sung more songs over the years though. The rock world is a lesser place without him.💔
They'll never be another Mick Tucker he's so underated I could watch him all day, no one twirled a drumstick like Mick, RIP Mick your missed mate.❤
I no that .
Agree 100%! So much skill, personality, and cuteness all in one package. He was truly unique. Sadly missed but never forgotten. 💘
Ladies and gentlemen: THIS is a band! Accomplished musicians, each one. This is breathtaking. xx
🤣🤣🤣
Thank God we've got footage left of truly one of the greatest original rock bands ever.....4 extremely talented vocalists and musicians...never to be forgotten

This is one of the greatest videos to show Mick's incredible talent and personality. Our Mick was truly one of a kind. On this sad anniversary of his death we will remember his life and legacy to music. RIP sweet Mick. We miss you! 😘🖤
A fantastic opportunity to allow Mick to show his drumming chops...WOW!!!
MY GODS THAT DRUM SOLO!
This video is of such good quality for 1974, looks great even today in 2021. They will last forever in Rockdom Kingdom! Forever Sweet!
I still play my Sweet vinyl frequently.
A complete natural and a very unique style. Totally underrated. Rock on Mick!❤
Wow, this is the first time I have seen this video and I have loved Sweet since'76
What an Awesome drummer for a 70s kick ass band. Love me some SWEET.
One of the best drummers ever.
20 years ago today we lost a drumming legend. RIP dear Mick- luv ya to the moon and back! Never forget you. ❤😘
Woefully under-rated band and sooo ahead of their time in so many aspects. Should have been HUGE in America.
My very thoughts exactly
It frustrates me! They don’t get their due
Jaw-dropping. Mesmerizing. Rock and Jazz combined. Brilliant. I feel privileged to have seen such musicianship recorded so well.
was one of my favorite bands in the 70s because they were so special and everyone really knew their stuff. had all the records that were unfortunately stolen from me. long live youtube
15 years ago today Mick lost his battle and the world lost the best and most underrated rock drummer ever!!!
R.I.P Michael Thomas Tucker

I have never seen this until today. EXCELLENT!! I'm 59, so grateful I grew up in a time when musicians had talent....
Mick Tucker, my first crush... 😍
Ive always maintained that Sweet had roots in hard rock, as highly accomplished musicians. Proof, if it were needed, is here. Total CLASS
A good one.... Oh, how great they are!!!
I have never seen anyone swirl a stick in his fingers like Mick Tucker could. He was amazing at it.
Mick Tucker. So fucking talented.
He was so fun to watch. he really seemed to enjoy what he was doing and have fun with it.
RIP to one of the best who will ever be

Tolle Arbeit Mick. Klasse
Tragisch. Denn eigentlich steckte viel mehr dahinter. 😞
I can only imagine how good this band would have been with proper management. Great talent all round.
they managed themselves and that gave us all the amazing music they had, cant really complain!
The fact that they managed themselves probably means they bit off more than they could chew in the end. Fabulous musicians and should be in the Hall of Fame for sure.
love Andy's voice, wish he sang more!
He has a great voice. Incredible vocals at the start of this...and he looks so comfortable and confident when he takes the lead. But even in later years he always had a lead singer and didn't take that lead role too often, but I think he could of. But then I'm a huge Andy fan!
As I understand it, he did on the later albums as Brian did not attend the recordings as by then he had a drink problem
I completely agree, Andy is probably one of if not the most talented singer I have heard, no offense to Brian, of cource
Great drummer- cheers Mick!
This is awesome! Vocals, guitar, bass DRUMS! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Happy birthday Mick......powerhouse of Sweet...keep banging dem skins....love u very much ❤
Absolutely amazing drumming
Proper musicians..every damn one of them...puts modern music to shame...just listen to micks drumming...and all of them could sing and play very well...very rare now
Holy smokes. This made me sit up. I thought I knew The Sweet. This is fabulous!
Inspiration for many
hearing Hell Raiser on radio i knew i had to learn playing guitar ;-)(this was a chin/chapmann composition, but nevertheless...)
Same here pelican!
Absolutely brilliant. Still listen to them now never get tired of them.100%.Best ever .Xxx
Mick Tucker was awesome, incredible... one of the most underrated hard rock / heavy metal drummers ever! RIP Mick !
Andy Scott with that "Whats that man with the Golden Arm" vocal range!!! Superb!
I like it/ На двух бочках... 74 год!!!
19 years ago today, we lost a great drummer. Rest in peace, dear Mick. 07.17.1947-02.14.2002

Mick was the man. This guy could have played in any heavy metal or hard rock band in the seventies, or eighties. I ve seen a ton of great drummers, but Mick took it to the highest levels of perfection
One of the greatest rock drummers of all time greatly underated
Mick passed away in a hospital just 3 miles from my workplace. There was a small mention in the press. So glad we now have access to performances like this which are testament to the great works of performers both living and departed.
Spot on, wonderful drummer 🥢
You can just tell Andy Scott had major respect for Mick! What a loss when he passed. RIP Mick the Great
One of England's greatest drummers
