    Mick Tucker is a great drummer!! Andy Scott is a great guitar player, Steve Priest is a great bass player , Brian Connolly is a great front man and Singer. They all can sing great. Put them all together and you have one of the greatest bands of all time!! Sweet deserves to be recognized and they belong in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!! Long live Sweet forever!!🎤🎸🎵🎹🥁

      Brian Connoly is not a great front man, he just stands there he does not really interact with the crowd if you're a good front man you need to interact with the crowd you know find that one person that's not getting off on your show and make them get off. Now I'm not saying that Brian Connolly can't sing, he does that quite well he just needs to interact more with his band and more with the crowd. it's a shame he won't be able to do that now ,maybe the guys up in heaven will teach him. Hey you know if there's a rock and roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band, and what he doesn't know they'll teach him. Rest in peace all good members of sweet,and Andy Scott we're still glad you're around and you're a hell of a guitar player., And a great singer. Andy if you read any reviews on yourself I compare you guys to Queen I said if I could compare these guys to anybody it would be Queen with their vocals in the way they all collaborate with each other. Fantastic . You guys rocked

      @@diannecarpenter7718 I'm sorry to say no I have not .but some his videos I can see that he doesn't do much action on stage as like some other bands do and I'm not saying theyre not a great band because they are an excellent band I really like them a lot I just wish Brian Connolly was a little more of a showman he had a beautiful voice they all had excellent voices I compare them to Queen and queen did an interview once and said that they are influenced by Sweet they are very underrated people don't give them the credit that they deserve I love them I think Steve priest and Andy Scott play together great and we're able to interact with each other. check out the song Sweet fa you will see how well they work together. I am in no way bad-mouthing the band the band is fantastic I'm just simply saying that Brian Connolly could have been a little bit more involved that's all.

      I have said on another video that I saw both versions of the band. The teenybopper version were excellent and entertaining, but I went and saw them two years later and they had reverted to their original style of playing, which they are so obviously happier doing. Those doubting Brian's input during a live gig are wrong - he was belting it out far better than a lot of contemporary 'heavy bands' singers were [and that includes Geordie ,whose lead singer went on to other things apparently...........]. Don't forget he had to be the 'pretty boy too :)

      Considering Mick's contemporaries, high praise indeed. Cozy Powell, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ian Paice, Nick Mason are 4 or 5 of his contemporaries that readily come to mind. Mick Tucker is rarely included in such lofty company but for the life of me - and probably you, I don't understand why ??

      Because twirling a fucking drumstick means you HAVE to be a great drummer, right? Look at all the great drummers, Baker, Paice, Bonham, Moon, Powell Starr etc. they didn't/don't, do fancy twirls they just play great drums.

    • @TELFORD96
      @TELFORD96 Před 3 lety +9

      @@CB-xr1eg Fool. He didn't just twirl the drumsticks as you put it. He could really play. He had fantastic style and his timing was impeccable. I saw 3 of those others you mention above playing live at various concerts during my youth. Although very good they did not match Mick Tucker in my honest opinion. He could also sing very well which is something the others couldn't do. The fact that he could twirl those sticks the way he did during his drumming sessions and still keep up with his timing and rhythm was an indication of just how good he was. I actually remember as a teenagers around 1972 time, Mick tucker been described by some critics as one of the best young drummers to come out of England.

      Das lag daran, dass The Sweet damals eine Teenie-Band waren. Sie konkurrierten seinerzeit mit den Bay City Rollers und Smokie und nicht mit den Stones, Deep Purple oder Queen. Als Teenie-Band abgestempelt, wollte niemand The Sweet ernsthaft als Rock-Band wahrnehmen. Dafür hatten sie einen sehr großen kommerziellen Erfolg. Leider haben sie es im Laufe der Zeit nicht mehr geschafft, ihr Image weg von der Teenie-Pop-Band hin zu einer ernst zunehmenden Rockband zu entwickeln! Im Gegensatz zu so mancher Pop-Band, waren The Sweet tatsächlich richtig gute und fähige Musiker, die ihre Instrumente beherrschten. Durch ihre großen Erfolge mit ihren Pop-Hits waren sie jedoch längst abgestempelt. So sind sie dann letztendlich als eine der vielen, einst so erfolgreichen Teenie-Pop-Bands, in die Musik-Geschichte eingegangen - und wurden auch ziemlich schnell wieder vergessen. Tragisch. Denn eigentlich steckte viel mehr dahinter. 😞

    Krasser Gegensatz zu der heutigen bekloppten Musik!
    Dies war noch ehrliche und gute Musik von echten Musiker n die noch Spass an ihrer Arbeit hatten !!!
    Traurig das du so früh von uns gegangen bist Mike 😢

    Mick was the man. This guy could have played in any heavy metal or hard rock band in the seventies, or eighties. I ve seen a ton of great drummers, but Mick took it to the highest levels of perfection

    Mick passed away in a hospital just 3 miles from my workplace. There was a small mention in the press. So glad we now have access to performances like this which are testament to the great works of performers both living and departed.
