    Thank you David. What I did I had a real good paint job on my Peterbilt and I wanted to put a clear coat but I picked up the wrong can and it was white paint. I tried cleaning it off but I made a total mess. I finally got it decent paint job and put a clear coat o and it turned out pretty good. Thank you for the advice. Happy modeling.

    I am building this truck right now. What I did is paint to engine black and then yellow over top and it makes the engine look like it's got shadow and grease on it. Also with the mud flaps I'm doing the metal a steel color. You made my decision to do white mud flaps that looks awesome

    Have built this twice as well as the other REVELL Kenworth. Practically a snap kit but its excellent and builds great and looks excellent. They are cheap as hell more than half the price of other kits but look as good. Hobby Lobby about 25 bucks. Fully recommend the kit and cheap enough to buy 2 or 3 and make weathered, wrecked etc.

    Looks good, bud. I was born & raised into trucking & drove 25+yrs fore a low back injury ended my career. That was back in 2016. I drove many different trucks, with Kenworth being my favorites. Long haul OTR, regional OTR, local OTR, local daily, & in road condtruction/ constcuction jobsites. Ive put many, many, models together including different semis with alot of attention to detail, scratch building, kit bashing, adding parts n pieces, making parts move & work. . . . .alot of fun!!! Hoping i can git set up & back into the hobby again someday. Bigrigs & helicopters are my favorites!!! Happy modeling & love the Kenworth W900A Aerodyne model. Thanks for sharing. . . . .10-4! P.S., ya might try adding C.B. radios to your truck model interior's. They're usually mounted up on the front forward part of the headliner of the interior ceilings, in between the 2 sun visors! Paint your C.B. antennas "red" with silver or chromed tips or just all red color. These were known as "Fire Stick" C.B. antennas!

    • @davidchin350
      @davidchin350  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the info regarding fire sticks Ray. Your in demand now with the lack of truckers available and the port loading delays affecting our supply chain. Good luck with your model building. Model on!

      @@davidchin350 Your welcome David Chin. And thankyou. My career is unfortunatly finished though! I have alot of pain in my low back spine & hip area/hip joints, sometimes shooting, painful, zips or "lightning strikes" as i call them. Feels like im being stabbed with knives. I would have these episodes while driving the last year i had to hang it up. It was all i could do to keep 83,000--85,000Lbs in my 2 hands, not crash the trucks, & get safely off the road somewhere & parked until the episodes were finished with their ordeal. Ive always had the patience & skill to sit down for hours at a time & just enjoy the hobby of model building, in all scales. I love the HO-1/87 scale model building of semi trucks as well. VERY challenging to say the least! Happy modeling, bud!

    Its a decent kit, more simplified more AMT, but if you put in the right ammount of effort and work into it, it can be a nice truck. It was my second truck kit, the Revell Pete 359 was my first. I still like the green. I heard something about one side was to thick and you clean it off. What I need to know how to clean the paint off. I’m really new at building truck models the only thing I build plus trailers. I had a run and I tried wiping it off and actually ruined my kit. Good video you made. I need some help.

    • @davidchin350
      @davidchin350  Před 3 lety

      If I sprayed too much I instantly take a lint free cloth with paint thinner and wipe off the enamel paint. If not, wait until it dries and wet sand it down. Important thing is to clean the surface, lay a thin coat of primer. Wait at least 2 days after primer to spray a VERY THIN coat of paint. Thin is better because u can always respray another coat. If it's too much it's going to run. Wait at least 2 or 3 days to dry in arid temp between coats or else paint will crackle. Watch my starsky and hutch car build and you can see how fast and light I spray can the parts. Hope this helps. Let me know if have additional questions. Thanks Terry!

      I used Rustoleum 2x rattle spray can from Home depot since it's the cheapest but you can buy spray cans made by Tamiya and Testors from a hobby store. Be careful when using spray cans since they push alot of paint out so spray with very quick passes.
