Kenworth W900 Aerodyne Tractor 1:25 Scale Revell #85-1507 - Model Kit Build & Review. Copyright 2019 Right On Replicas, LLC. All rights reserved. Review and photos by Gabriel Szeitz for RoR.
This kit was extremely easy. It took me 3 hours to have everything cut and assembled for painting. Came out wonderfully, but I did mess up on one of the decals.
Emilio, Decals can be tricky. With practice you'll learn how to stay out of trouble! PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
I just brought one today, I hope it turns out as good as yours Sir. Thank you for your step by step, setup, really appreciated, for your knowledge on this build.
That is one clean, beautiful build. Just shows that part count doesn't guarantee a good kit. Good engraving, and in this case, clean build, crisp detail painting make all the difference. Great job!
Amt/Revell may have done a good job on the kit, but you brought it home on this one. Great work. I have this same kit with minor differences, an Amt version about 1982. Hardly any of the molds lined up, like a sandwich with one piece of bread hanging way over to one side, lol. Very hard to work with so i just didn't put the effort in i should've. You really put mine to shame on this build, lol. Thanks a Heep for this build! Mr Doug!
I had the same problem with the tires. Also one thing I didn’t like is the tab for the body and sleeper. Have to paint the back of the truck after installation to look better. Great video!
Right On Replicas definitely subscribing. Please checkout my channel as well. I just got back into modeling after my 20 years in the military and loving it all over again.
I have this kit, you are right the wheels are a sticking point. Also one of the fuel tank ends was bowed in badly. Had to build it back up with putty. I call this an entry level truck kit, the Revell Germany kits are so much more detailed.
Thanks for the review on the revell model truck. With Revell so short on detail and parts not fitting well I can't see paying out $30 bucks for it. AMT makes a much better kit and for around same price. But back in the day when I built model trucks I could get them for about $10 bucks. But that was then.
Bout 4 flat tires on drive but dang look good .....I bout one sat. Working on building a drop visor for it ......it needs one BADDDD AND UR CAB OVER TOO
Very nicely done. Fit issues can be a royal pain though but with some patience a great result can be had! The one car I would like for you to do is the Joker Goon car. :)
I am currently working on this kit, so far its not to bad. Its gonna have a Ukrainian theme blue and yellow two tone with some silver highlights and decals, however mines not gonna look as pretty the one you built. its gonna be a working truck so it will have some weathering.
i had the U.K. version of this model, in 1/25th and 1/18 scale and found it was far superior to U.S. model kit, unlike the one you demonstrate, my wheels were actual rubber tires, and the wheels are put together as you would see on the real wheel set up. also, the Chrome features are far better than on those kits found in the U.S. the items i mention are as standard on all Revell .U.K. /European models.
AS, They are usually better detailed as you've mentioned but they should be. This kit goes for $30 USD and the Revell 07497 kit goes for about $60. Thanks for the comparison! -Doug
Hey. I have one of the kits. Do you think that the tire issues you mentioned in this kit can be rectified by replacement tires (amt for instance) or will I need wheels as well? Thanks in advance for you help, Steve
ST, The Moebius type replacement tires are an improvement. I'm not sure about the wheel opening size though. You might have to adjust it by scraping/sanding them larger or adding tape to the wheel to close the gap! -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
Gurjasplayz, Since it has a standard fifth wheel hitch there's no reason why any Revell 1:25 trailer couldn't be made to work. You may have to manipulate the connection or add the hitch ball yourself if there isn't one already in place. -Doug
I’ve seen other reviews and yours are the most useful I find. keep posting them right on
CN, That's what we like to hear! -Doug
Kenworth will be 100 years old in 2023. It is headquartered in Kirkland, Washington. Nice model!
Steve, Thanks for the info! -Doug
One of your best builds! Thanks!

Great build. “Soaking” warped parts in hot, but not boiling, water then clamping the part can help straighten out warps.
AC, that sounds pretty good! -Doug
Great job Doug.
Vaughn
Thanks Vaughn! -Doug

'Preciate that, Red! -Doug

CS, You are correct. And at 2-3 times the price that's what you would expect! -Doug
I just built this kit last week
076, Hey, great minds think alike! -Doug

NG, You're right; the times they are a changin! -Doug
Nice kit, I've been wanting to build a big rig. Yours turned out great!
MB, this is an easy builder too! -Doug
@@RightOnReplicas Good to know but aftermarket tires are needed!!
MB, They would really help the overall appearance on this one! -Doug
“ motor” is a reference to a mechanical device that uses electricity. Engine is the word you’re looking for.

AY, Thank you very much! -Doug
Hot water would have worked for the tires. When I have fit issues I use hot water or a hair dryer.
Josh, thanks for the tips! -Doug
Is there any trailer that will hitch into that kenworth ayerodyne 900 plz answer
Gurjasplayz, Since it has a standard fifth wheel hitch there's no reason why any Revell 1:25 trailer couldn't be made to work. You may have to manipulate the connection or add the hitch ball yourself if there isn't one already in place. -Doug
I don't remember any fit issues with my kit, except the hood not going all the way down .
Rog, thanks for the tip - that's an area to watch! -Doug
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Well,thanks TR! -Doug
Not many parts though.
BV, Yep, it's an easy builder! -Doug
SOMETHING ELSE THAT I USE IS OVEN CLEANER ANY OF THE DIFFERANT BRANDS WILL REMOVE THE CHROME OF YOUR KITS
Max, thanks for the tip! -Doug
