Needed to "know" this difference info so I'd either buy a double grind big bite grinder or the double grind kit for a reg grind big bite grinder. After I bought the Big Bite #8, I "thought" maybe I could just buy the double sided cutter and double grind first disk but no, even the auger shaft is longer, so now I do need to buy the double grind kit too.
I received my LM dual attachment for my number 12 LEM grinder. I got to use it tonight with fresh beef 8 pounds. I cut up into small pieces and it went through good at first but after that I had a really push hard to get it through in such tiny holes coming out. 😢 I am thinking I spent $130 for nothing. Unless I’m doing something wrong but when I took it apart to clean it those tiny holes had skins stuck in there also and it’s brand new first time using it should’ve all been sharp. When I put the dual blade on, I made sure the letters were on the outside, visible.
Just used mine for first time today. Worked great. I did switch to the smaller plate for a second(or 3rd) grind…it didn’t grind nice at all…made meat mush. I stopped right away and went back to the coarse plate. I’m now wondering if I had the knife in backwards.
Putting the knife on backwards can cause issues with the attachments ability to grind. I would try again making sure the knife is in the correct direction (# facing out as shown in video). Always best to chill the meat in the freezer before grinding as well. Thanks for the response and have a great day!
@@LEMProducts1 Yeah, when I took it apart and replaced with coarse plate, I bet I put the knife back on the correct direction. Worked great. Looking forward to trying fine plate again!
@@mattroth602I put the dual blade in like it said. Your suppose to be able to read what it says --#12 I still had to push like hard to get it all thru 😮
Like stuffing with any grinder it would be best to grind to the grain size you would like then take the knife and plates out and put a stuffing plate at the end to stuff meat bags. Grinding directly into bags through the dual grind head would not produce quality results.
There is a sweet spot when backing off slightly where it will not rattle loose. Backing it off too much and the retaining ring can rattle off. Thanks for the questions!

Can you package the meat using the the duel grind attachment.

So, no tightness at all on the retaining ring? What prevents it from rattling loose?
