  • The El Morro National Park is an amazing place and full of history. The hike on Headland Trail is a 2.0 mile loop. Aside from the beautiful landscape and 360 degree views of the valley along the way, there are plenty points of interests that are absolutely fascinating. Among them is the Atsinna Ruins which was unearthed by archeologists in the 1950s. Further down the trail are massive sandstones, where over 2,000 inscriptions and petroglyphs were carved. Towards the end of the trail is a hidden waterhole at the base of a massive sandstone bluff rising 200 feet above the valley floor.
