  • Via Ferrata Delle Trincee was an AWESOME day in the Dolomites of Italy. This was our final vf of the trip, but well worth every single minute we spent on this route. The crux of this climb got our blood flowing right away and the history of these really cool tunnels kept us interested to the very last cable section. A++++ day and highly recommend! 7.6 Miles, 3600ft of elevation gain + difficult via ferrata rating. Filmed in July 2022.

I appreciate the land use/ownership discussion. What a rad looking hike and great way to spend a birthday!

Nice! I recently hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc that was also beautiful. Need to make it back to the dolomites. Those via ferratas look a bit scary though!

This was def the most technical one we did but if you watch my other vids from the Dolomites they are much more mellow.

What a way to spend your birthday. Dope! A little off your usual content, but would love a Patreon post about your Italy itinerary; did you stay in the same location the whole trip and travel out to the hiking spots/via ferratas? Tips for a similiar trip and things you might've done differently..etc. Definitely looks like a bucket list trip, but I've never traveled overseas and its all a bit overwhelming to me.

Great video! Did you rent the harnesses when you got there? Planning our trip to the same area and trying to figure out our packing list. Thanks!

Nope we brought our own - super easy to pack (minus the helmet) and saves you from having to create a schedule off a rental spot. Gear we used linked in the vid

Fun fact. Most of the people in south Tyrol are bilingual. Not so fun fact: second language is usually German.
If you're ever make it to Austria it's even more obvious. Hiking trails are maintained by the local tourism association, so landownership usually isn't a problem. Leave no trace is even more important as you will get fined if caught. Dogs are always welcome as long as you take their litter out, but have to be leashed. You're not allowed to leave the marked trails tho.

@@TheVirtualSherpa I'd love to go to Colorado some day. So far I never had the chance to cross the pond at all, so you got one me so far ;)

Love your videos! How do you get those over the head camera shots? I don't see a device in the description that fits the profile. Thanks!

Assuming you are not referencing the really high above ones (which come through the drone) the other ones come from the 360 camera (GoPro Max). Appreciate you looking in the description before asking though.

Really cool seeing those old WW1 mountain forts. Looking into it a bit more those seem to be Austro Hungarian border defenses that Italian troops fought to take for 2 years with no success. Judging off of the views from those firing holes I can see why, never again.

In the summer - probably paradise, winter likely the exact opposite 🥶
