- Hi, this in depth video shows you a Nintendo Switch Frankenstein creation using a 10.5" Full HD screen so you can have a larger Nintendo Switch with a better resolution because of the 1080p screen (nicknamed 'The Vincendo XL, after me!!!!! ). It allows the better resolution because the Switch is 'docked'.
It shows all the parts needed and the price so you can recreate this monster for yourself.
Many thanks Vince. - Jak na to + styl
Me: Oh wow this looks neat!
**Flips it over**
What in the WORLD!?
Omg same iwas like I'm gonna buy this but then flips it over😳😂
I love your amazing DIY builds so much! I'm praying for your success in all things you try to achieve..
I can't believe how much more subs you've gotten since your 100K special.
Keep up the great content!
My mate Vince... the Vincendo xl 🤣🤣! You're AWESOME, Vince! Great video, mate. Love your Frankenstein builds👍👊🔥
Thanks mate. I am in the process of doing a Frankenstein portable PS4 so hopefully you might like that one too :-)
your profile image is a couple years too old lol omg old meme memories
This is the best work I have even seen.
I'm gonna do it, eventually, but sure I will!!!
Thanks for the detailed video.
You are so genius...I need this 1080p portable gameplay
Fantastic creation, especially condensing all that into what you’ve shown.
This could be a thing of the future. Great job Vince. :)
Vincendo XL worldwide sales!!!! Thanks for the views and the support :-)
You're very welcome Vince.
Nintendo should make their own version of this,
I'd buy a dock with a Screen attached for table top mode.
Ikr!
Thank you, brilliant as always. Reckon this setup works well when playing with a group of little ones and there's no tv around, I reckon.
Always thought about this but never had an idea of how to do it. Excellent vid bro. Cheers
Oh my god vince uploaded my entire week is blessed
You are insane my friend! Great work mate. I may do this myself.
That's a great innovative way to make the screen bigger that's great
It’s cool but totally impractical
+bego
Impractical HOW? it's only about 2:1 the switches size to scale.
Now, if only it had bigger joycons too (Edit: Nonetheless this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen)
just say Hori split pad pro.
I think it's awesome like your videos. Thanks for the ideas. Cheers from Oklahoma!
This is awesome for 4 player table top mode! I wouldn't be surprised if Nyko released a 15 inch monitor with docking capabilities and a built in 15,000mAh battery to power it and only be an inch thick. Cool mock prototype tho!
that would be cool and i'd definitely buy it:)
you are definately creative..love the channel
Wow, great job. I like this a lot!
Dope build and I am sure it has been a blast to play! Great job! But it looks heavy as heck. Many people are at a higher risk of carpal tunnel due to computer based jobs and I can already feel my forearms seizing up and aching just looking at this thing. Even the New 3DS XL is too heavy. But this would be a go-to for traveling to a hotel room and not wanting to risk a lack of an HDMI input or for playing games while camping. Super cool!
Really nice result! Good Man!!!
I do not own a switch yet, because even my phone screen (Honor Note 10) is bigger then the Switch. With this "XL"Switch idea, I am really considering to get the Switch and do the same as you. Many thanks for this video mate :)
You cold make it less bulky by putting te switch long ways up and down near the side of the tv, with the usb facing inwards. Then arrange other components to flatten out the system
Vince your ideas just blow people away I would try this kind of stuff if I had a switch also does anybody else think that Microsoft or Sony will try there own version of this
Teacher: What do you want to be when you grow up, Jimmy?
Jimmy: An Engineer :D
Teacher: Oh? Why's that?
Jimmy: *Shows her this video*
like a boss :)
Ben Heck is an engineer, this guy just plugs crap in and ties it down.
I see you must not know the dankest of memes.
@@KarmigulaEffect this is cringeworthy
A++
Very nice! You really outdid yourself!
Look great for 4 player game on the go.
Burrito Man Mr yep. Looks like it fits right in your pocket
EvanderGee lol
The screen looks beautiful
I like it, and I don't even mind how it looks on the back (I like visible cables...).
This set-up is nice.
love it, Nintendo or anoher company should think about making these like you said in the vid
The Idea is genious
dude, Vincendo in Italian means winning. And this is definitely a win in my book
If Nintendo never makes a Switch XL (which I hope they will), I would love to see a company make something like this. A portable Switch monitor with joycon rails. Great job, Vince!
Hey just copied the model with Orion upswitch
Nice Project You Got There! Hope Nintendo Release The XL Version And/Or mini version soon...
That is just awesome dude. Subbed
Thanks :-)
Your doing the Lord's work
This is genius I wish I could buy something like this
This is pretty awesome.
That is one awesome vincendo abomination and I mean that in a good way!!
Thank you :-)
Cool mockup, my only concern is not having additional support strength for the joy-cons. I think by now we've all heard the stories of the rails getting bend or loosening over time. My thoughts on it, is maybe add a form fitted rounded grip, should make it more comfortable to hold while shifting the supporting weight away from the joy-cons and rails. Also thanks for sharing info on the parts, maybe I'll try it myself.
You can buy kits tor replace the cheap plastic latches that lock the joycons in place with metal ones for $2-5, but yeah the rails themselves could have trouble with all that extra weight...
Honestly I would just use this at my friends house or if I had a friend round on tabletop mode
there are some newer lighter 4k screens out now i would love to see this updated! The thin and Light c-force moniter would be great.
Seems you were well ahead of your time Vince, there's a kickstarter doing something quite similar to this at the moment.
Hahaha, I've only just seen this 'new' product...Very similar 😂😂
thats an amazing idea, nintendo NEEDS to support this
I have the Fastsnail dock, but I use the official Nintendo Switch AC Adapter with it. Not providing the required 15 Volts to the dock could easily be causing problems, so I figured better safe than sorry. Also I'd rather just use a portable dock for when I take Switch to someone's house, particularly on special occasions or holidays.
Solid and Awesome video, if only I had the switch and money to do this... would be the perfect console haha
I know this is an old video but you’ve inspired me! I’m attempting to do this myself with a thinner lighter monitor. Specifically the Innocn 13.3” OLED. I’ve bought some spare joycon rails. Do you have any tips for attaching the rails to the side of a thin metal monitor?
Thanks!
Rad! Thanks for the video.
Love your videos. When can I buy the final Vincendo XL case for switch then?? 😂
Wonderful mod! Cheers!
Cool, great job.
love your videos
Now my nintendo switch looks like a bomb
Oh yes I would love to have a Switch like this
Theoretically you could do this with a monitor relatively the same size as the Switch screen to get that beautiful 1080p on the go.
Samuel Samuel
1080p at 6" is quite a low standard for today. Alot of newer budget smartphones are maxed at 1080p and you can tell a difference from them and the more expensive phones with higher res especially since people generally use their phones up close to their face.
My 4 year old smartphone does 1440p at 6" and its OLED (Nexus 6) which has a superior screen than any budget phone out today with a LCD or a lower res OLED.
The switch isnt a phone but it uses a small screen at the same size as smartphones of today. Therefore it's still a fair comparison to use a smartphone to contrast simularities with the Switch.
You sir, have earned a subscriber
Great idea I have been trying to do this with a PS4.
@My Mate Vince, ive got a serious plan for the switch console in regards to an upgraded screen and such. are you familiar with the NVIDIA shield K1? I've been looking online and based off of pictures i see that they appear to have the same screen connectors. Would you think the screens could be swapped? im going to buy a Switch soon and i want to try to make a better switch "pro" and my first idea is starting with that Shield tablet screen. I personally think a 8" screen with small bezels would be perfect. or maybe a 9.25" bezel-less screen.
I'M honestly surprised no one mentioned overheating potential here. The Switch already gets a bit warm, and since the dock is an empty shell of sorts, heat can still dissipate properly. The problem with a device like this is the fact it's all wrapped around. At least on 3 sides (with the top only exposed). That's potentially a very bad problem on more demanding games, especially since some people's switches have started to warp due to the heat issues.
man you're nuts.
and i love it.
It's a great idea. It might be useless, but good idea
Good vid Vince
Thanks :-)
Thanks
you sir are Awesome. You make a good product a Fantastic product! In the the words of the late Tony The Tiger Your Great!!!.
Great video 👍
This best thing about this is because you get the full power of the switch in portable mode. Not the restricted power which we normal get with reduced visual settings. . 50% downclocking. reduce resolution to 720p.. sure the switch gets hot to hold and reduced battery life. But who cares. You're not holding the switch itself. . Rather you're holding the joy cons. And if you charge via cable.. then battery life isn't an issue either..
great job!
I'm working on a slimmer design. Most likely a clamshell. Not gonna be XL but it might have a 1080p screen. Probably.
A clamshell Nintendo Switch?? Have you done it and if so, could you upload a video of it because I NEED to see that!
Can you A. disassemble the monitor to maybe hide some of the components inside? B. Place battery and Switch side by side to reduce bulk?
Hi, I really wanted to put the Switch and battery side by side but it over hanged the monitor and looked bad from the front. I haven't opened the monitor yet but I am sure there is empty space inside around the speakers. You should be able to hide the portable dock. What would be ideal would be a rechargeable monitor with a battery built in and then you could hide the dock and just have the Switch on the back. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of small monitors with HDMI available to choose from but you could use a laptop screen instead if you had a suitable case to put it all in. A school/college/university student with access to a 3D printer and machinery could make a great school project out of this :-)
I think it's a great idea but ultimately I think Nintendo will make their own version, possibly with more power.
tech always gets better there isn't much reason for them not to release a better version down the line heck they were the first one to do upgraded consoles with their new 3ds and now sony and microsoft have done it with their consoles. i expect them to release a better version before the switch's life cycle ends. that being said i do agree that it most likely wont be a bigger version but then again i wouldn't be surprised if they did do that since the switch already ins't that portable since you need a bag
what?
it's possible, other tablet can do it,smartphone can do it
there's possiblelititties
Nintendo isn't focused on making refreshes of Nintendo switch's, instead focusing more so on peripherals.
They did that since the DS Lite, I believe, so it's a much earlier history. It's the same machine, with a few extra ecslusive feautres, I guess.
I think we could count the Gameboy Advance Micro too?
Wish the Nintendo Switch had 1080p docked and could've been the very first Handheld console to ever have 1080p anywhere any time.
My mate, you sound like a sales person. You just sold me one.
Its madness! , but also awesome
U just made my day 🤙
Darn! Was hoping you'd gutted the Swtich's internals and made a custom case and such. This is cool but seems sorta like a cop-out method to make it all a "unit" without having to take anything apart
cool efforts though!
Still too bulky with the battery sadly. I would just use a wall outlet near me instead.
if that monitor supports aux in for audio, i would recommend using that because the switch will override the docked audio out with the aux audio out, and this lets you control the volume more easily by holding the home button
Very good point :-) It does have a line in. I have loads of 15cm and 25cm 3.5mm cables that I could have used. I wish I had known this before the video!! because it would be easier in handheld and table top mode. Thanks for the advice :-)
no problem, I found out about it because I wanted to use my USB headphones, so I hooked it up to my PC's mic in and it worked really well
Theres a company called Orion and they made this exact thing, ironically their product is more new and looks very similar to yours 👀 i wouldn’t doubt if they watched this video
My thinking exactly!!! 😂👍👍
Thanks Mate.
awesome build, need a link to all these attachments!
your voice + accent can sell me anything........
Just wait the Switch XL version... i hope so :)
use some sort of dev board (like an Arduino) to make the joy cons bigger as well! (Obviously, you have to take apart the joy-cons or even make a new type of controller)
Good Concept
I'd be one to use it in portable mode and hold the entire thing like a controller.
Do they now have a retail product like this for the Nintendo switch? Because this would actually be very nice to have. 😁
Honestly this would really be good for VanDwelling trips or RV trips
My next question is if you have to charge the joycons will the joycons slide in place while the switch is strapped in place to charge? Just curious how flush they sit cus of how the L+R triggers sit out
Hi, they can just barely squeeze on by weaving through the cables but getting them off is hard because you need to use a screwdriver to get to the release button. It would be best to just take the Switch out to release the Joy-Cons :-)
My Mate VINCE lovely... it makes the design more apealing to me to carry 2 sets of joycons to rotate charged ones with ones needing to be charged...
Adds another 100 grams to the weight as well to help build up the forearm muscles :-)
You monster using the white theme!
Very cool
I say ridiculous....
Ridiculously awesome!!
Awesome .
at least the screen to body ratio is better but can you control the brightness and volume adjust from the quick menu????
rip for those who play doom on a switch and no a ps4/xbox one is still bad cuz i played it on a ps4 and its just much harder with a controller but on pc i finished it thankfully cuz the controls r better with a mouse
How did you attach the joycons and get them to charge?
i'l buy the vincendo xl, mainly because its made by a genius
You finally got Odyssey
Yes, I only got it a couple of days ago but first impressions are good :-)
Cuphead is easy :D
Do you have a smaler version? And if yes, where can i buy it
Is it possible, to take apart the Display of one of my old unused tablets(Galaxy Tab A), clip it on an pcb like thing to get an HDMI input, and use that gorgeous AMoled Full HD Display for the Switch?
nice, looks good at the front but oh god that mess of wires and stuff at the back
Awesome, but, is it possible to make bigger joycons, as long as it connects via bluetooth you might be able to make some
You know what you should do? Put a link to that monitor
What do you mean by a link? Is it a pun? Sorry, I am lame.
