Great teardown video - Thanks for being so thorough!
Huge respect for the amount of detail you put into each step, especially how you made sure to fully explain the importance of the ribbon cable lock at 6:50 , as well as the detail you put into how to take off the CPU’s x-clamp at 12:20 .
Lastly, thanks for doing a full beginning to end video - made it much easier to step through the video from my perspective. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank You Man!...You are the best! You had the most in depth step by step teardown, and put back together video on CZcams. I badly needed to replace the thermal paste, as my Xbox One-X kept powering off anytime I tried to place any graphically enhanced games. So after Googling the fix, I came to the conclusion that I needed to replace the thermal paste. Having never attempted something like this before, I came to CZcams to find the best step by step guides...and after watching many videos...I decided to use your video to help me attempt this crazy mess. I was nervous about doing everything right, so I ordered the tools and the thermal paste from Amazon. I followed your step by step guide...and a couple of hours later (because I took my time to get it right) and a lot of rewinding the video back and forth...my system works like it's brand new. No more shutdowns, and the fan runs quiet as can be now! Thank You!

I want to Thank you for this instructional how-to-video! I bought my XBox One X in 2017 refurbished from Gamestop. I had performed no maintenance from the time I bought it. Just kept it clean. I decided it was time to crack it open. I followed your video step by step. When I lifted up the heat sink off the CPU to my horror the Thermal paste was almost all gone and it was dry and flaky with tacky parts here and there. No wonder my fan started up immediatly when I turned the system on. After an hour and a half the system was up and running quieter then it has ever been. I kept checking it thinking the fan wasn't working as it was just so quiet! Muchas Gracias!

its not hard , if you want to clone your XBOX hdd to a ssd, you will need the following:
A PC or laptop with two usb ports:
you will need a two sata to usb adapter:
      amzn.to/3tXjvLD
and you will need a program called "Macrium Reflect"
and you can remove the xbox hdd and plug into adapter and plug your new ssd into another adapter and use the program to clone the hdd -ssd.

      yes and no,
Yes it will be slower but we talking about seconds not a big %,
but recommended is always fresh install.
its like trying to say i have intel cpu, if i put a 3400mhz ram is faster than 2400mhz , but in reality the differences are not even noticeable.
but in amd cpu then sure the differences from 2400mhz to 3400mhz are very noticeable,
same goes for cloning lets say its somewhere in between

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Před 3 lety +1

okay do this 1st , open it up and dont remove the heatsink. just disconnect the fan 1st (very important) then use a compressed air (gas station air its stronger ) or i highly recommend to keep one of this at home , its very use full and powerful 100X better than the air can spray that its moist air and not powerful ,
      amzn.to/3clpDro
use this to clean the fan and the board and the fins of the heatsink.
and then test it out and you will get it going. No need to replace the paste at 1st.
NOTE: its very important to disconnect the fan jack from motherboard before blowing air into fan , the reason is that the fan will generate voltage and it will backfire into motherboard. so disconnect the fan always for any electronics.

regarding your issue, warzone it is a very demanding GPU load. the only two reason that the fan gets lound are the following:
the heatsink is dirty or the heatsink is not placed perfectly on the GPU/CPU (but if its not set perfectly the game or console should turnoff or crash after max 15min gaming)
if no crash after 15min of gaming, then its ok let the fan spin as fast as it wants as there is no harm for it ,it will push out the air faster out :P

@@ZuLqYaH i need you to do the following steps:
      #1. remove the motherboard completely
#2. place the board over a old wood table (nothing with fabric or plastic)
#3. make sure there is no fan blowing air or the room is not cold (no A/C units) work at room temp.
#4. once placed the board on a table, grab a hair dryer. set the hair dryer to max heat and low or medium air.
#5. point it straight on top of the CPU with a 1" distance. and keep it there for 6-8min
#6. remove the heat and LET IT COOL down ON ITS OWN. don't rush the cooling my placing fan or anything let it cool down 10min.
DON't move the board for 10min.
after 10-15 min repast and test it out.
reasons is that because of the over heating that you had before there is a high chance that a solder ball under the CPU is cracked or resisting a voltage, with this DIY you doing a refllow. note the external heat that is applied wont damage the chip, the internal working heat is much different than external.

Dude, I did it exactly as instructed you in the video. but after folding and turning on, the xbox logo lights up, the console beeps, then about 5 seconds it beeps again and turns off, the logo goes out. don't you know where the problem might be? HDMI port left during disassembly? I'm confused about it properly.

Regarding your question: i would like you to re do everything and make sure the heatsink is really touching the cpu, this happens alot with people they think the heatsink is flat with cpu but a slight movement it makes the difference, and double check all the connectors. its not broken that is for sure. you just need to adjust the heatsink and make sure dont use a cheap thermal paste else it will get worse.

You should mention that too much thermal past can cause the Xbox to instantly shut off!! Now I need to restart!

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Před 3 lety +1

Not true at all unless you are using a different thermal paste that was not used in this video, if you using Artic silver 5 then that paste its more harder. but if you using the MX4 no the amount of the paste wont do any damage or shut down. we have tested with excessive over done MX4 and same result.
therefore not all paste have the same properties, some are more softer and some very thick.
if you placed the MX4 and its shutting down then its not because of the extra paste. maybe your heat-sink is not sitting properly on the cpu.
