In Mexico we have something similar called chicharrones or duros. They’re made with potato flower and come in orange and white colors. Some are shaped like tubes, others like wheels, sticks, wafers, squares and sometimes even big slabs. The big slabs are used to make chimichangas or chicharrones preparados, which are basically a snack salad with hot sauce and cream on top of those slabs.

We used to have these when I was younger, but it wasn’t a wide variety of shapes like the ones you displayed, they were colorful circles that appeared as plastic but when you put them inside the hot pan they would turn into a colorful chip. It had a shrimp on the packet, so growing up I always assumed it was shrimp chips but now I have no clue what it’s made of.

In Malaysia, we have something similar called "keropok ikan". It is made out of fish and it will puff up in seconds in hot oil. We use "acar" which is basically a sweet, sour and spicy fermented salad to add on top of the keropok.
