    I can remember the day when I suddenly 'got it'. Got to keep your legs bent after the initial pop (so that your legs actually have room to correct in both directions), and I literally forced my legs/knees to pump forwards and back so that my brain learnt how it was affecting the balance point. It's the only way I went from fluking good manuals, to learning how to hold good manuals. Ok, average ones.

    I’ve watched every video on CZcams for YEARS on how to manual and my
    Manuals are still crap. But now I’ve watched video. If this is the o e that does it, well, that will be amazing.

    Great video, Duncan, as usual! I missed some tips about the right- left movement of the knees to keep a straight line in the displacement, which has to be learnt and applied simultaneously to the balance point one I think... I still struggle with that part!!! 😅😅😉

      Cheers Man. Yeah there is a lot going on all at once for what seems like a simple trick. Good luck!

      That's the key right there, heels down, kick your feet forward

    Chin up, and butt over the axle, lock your arms ( not necessarily straight, but don't bend them too much), really really get a good feel for your rear brake.

    I have San Quentin 3. Is your Marin Rift Zone 3 great for transitioning to full sus?

    • @marinbikesofficial
      @marinbikesofficial  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes! The Rifty is a great all-around trail bike, and is a solid choice for most trails and riders. It's the #1 MTB of Marin staffers.

    Honestly I think it's more about body control, yes you have a safety clauses, but if you know how to control your body you should have it licked.
