I've had my trust taken advantage of or broken throughout my entire life and if a friend did that to me AFTER knowing how shitty people have been to me, it would be "game on".
I would get fully sober, rested, recovered, cleaned up, find the person who did it, tell them "FUCK YOU FOR DOING THAT TO ME!!!", knock them the fuck out, and walk away from them forever. Practical jokes are one thing, but dosing someone that hard and WITHOUT their knowledge is dangerous and a complete violation of that person's consent and trust.

Ok drugging a friend unknowingly is not the greatest idea but Jesus they make it sound like it was a 50/50 chance of death. It’s a little MDMA. Bro, are you serious? Molly is a vasoconstrictor and can be cardiotoxic to the wrong person. Burt is massively overweight,on blood pressure meds (being on one drug that slows down your heart, and one that speeds it up is super dangerous) and an alcoholic. That is a recipe for disaster. The main take away from this is you don't drug people without their consent.

You buy booze at a store, and buy molly off a guy on the corner. Anything can get slipped into street drugs and all it takes is a lil of something extra to cause panic or worse. The dose was slipped into his drink , not offered, so learning you were drugged at your own home, in front of your kids, wife and other guests by a "friend" would put you in a major state of panic, on top of already being wound up from the drugs. Bert isn't a big hard drug guy. Ari is, so if Ari gave Bert a dose that's Ari's used to, but Bert isn't; can you imagine how sketched he'd be. Nothing worse then being too high in an environment where you shouldn't be.
Well Bert's an alcoholic on blood pressure meds and Ari slipped him METH-METH. MDMA is Methylenedioxy-methamphetamine. Meth cranks your heart to 19 out of 10.
