Unless it's already been done, the Paddington movies have some amazing attention to detail that really brings the little bear to life. Facial expressions, interactions between real life objects and animation, lighting, details in fur and materials, for a family movie I think it holds up really well.
The pop-up-book sequences in Paddington 2 are beautiful!

Wasn't expecting you here
Shallan: "I'll give you all of my stormlight"
Wren: "I'm a stick"

But I'm stick
Thank you, I read this in Kate reading's Shallan voice.
Came to write this exact same thing. Thank you, Radiant.
Came to the comments section for this.
The beautiful thing about Death Becomes Her is that the action is so outrageous that you don't even notice the slight imperfections in the effects. Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis are a hoot to watch.
I remember seeing this movie in the theaters back in the day but really forgot who the male lead was. Can understand the surprise
Wren is a confirmed Stormlight Archive fan and I’m so happy to learn this. “I am a STICK!”
Oh, yeah. Dig into some of their other videos. He goes on about Shardblades multiple times and once named a pair pf batter packs "Kaladin" and "Kelsier". It's the greatest thing.
He's also worn some Stormlight shirts in previous videos.
Yeah, when they started that whole discussion I was just waiting for that line from Wren, wasn't disappointed :)
yeah
he talk about stormlight on some sponsor segment before
I thought of the line while they were discussing the shot and then Wren said that, and “I understood that reference” and went straight to the comments
As a ten year old when it came out, Death Becomes Her's effects and the way they pulled those effects off absolutely blew my mind and yes 29 years later, it really does hold up.

Wren being confused about everyone laughing at him saying 'VFX Warehouses' is so cute😆😆
@DaKermitFrog i think he meant "powerhouses"
@DaKermitFrog You usually refer to them just as a VFX house. It's supposed to sound artsy. The joke is that Wren said warehouse. Corridor works out of literally an old warehouse.

I am so blown away and impressed by the work that went into Godzilla vs Kong. The entire animation team should be very proud.
@beedsj roiue A genuine classic that redefined what was possible in a movie.
Godzilla vs Kong is just fantastic. It deserves a Academy Award nomination. Man, the mo-cap actors did a fantastic job.
The animation for the motion especially on Godzilla was really bad. They moved unrealistically fast, nothing like in the Godzilla movies.

Peter Jackson, Robert Zemeckis, Michael J. Fox... I'd love to see a breakdown of the VFX from The Frighteners (1996). They're somewhat cartoonish, but they were pretty awesome at the time. And the beginnings of Weta before Lord of the Rings...
Weta Digital actually began in 1993 in order to produce the visual effects in Heavenly Creatures, which is another film the Corridor Crew should break down.

The scene in Matilda when she first unlocks her powers and is causing everything to fly around in her living room. I think it's a blend of bluescreen, rotoscoping, and reverse shots that makes it all look ridiculously good for 1996. Please tell me how they did it.
iirc a surprising amount of the work in Matilda was practical with wires painted out. I think there's a BTS with Devito from the special features kicking about somewhere that explains a few of the shots.

You guys are doing a real service to us movie geeks..thank you so much. Being an older viewer my appreciation is just staggered by the wealth of knowledge and physical where with all at the fingers of the movie industry. I mean I've lived thru.... the giant claw, plan 9 from outer space, the original Godzilla. Movies now, border on art and magic with the technology. The genie is out of the bottle...while I love it all, yet the pendulum has to swing back to the other direction. Emotional/humanitarian films has to have a seat at the table..the pie is big enough for Weta/ILM and Spike Lee. Kudos to your channel..this has given the nerd kingdom a look behind the curtain...THANKS.
DragonHeart (1996) still holds up. Sean Connery voiced a giant vfx dragon who completely made that movie work because it’s face was more expressive than some of the human actors. I believe that was ILM’s doing

Death Becomes Her is one of my favorite movies ever. I'm so happy you guys covered it
Love, Death and Robots has some amazing episodes in both volumes that really blur the line between CGI and reality. There were a couple of instances where, knowing that it was a series of animated shorts, could have believed some of what I was watching was live-action. Snow in the Desert and Life Hutch from the second volume, while there is a good bit of gore, looked so photo-real at times it was astonishing.
