All of the quilting on the corset is SO pretty and you don't even get to see it! And I'm so impressed that all the cording in the petticoats gave it so much volume without a hoop

The 1830s had the weirdest silhouette imo, but you still made such a pretty dress. QvQ Definitely want a better look at that corset construction.

I love the wave trim on the skirt, and that colour is just gorgeous 😍
I love this. The only commentary I dare add is that I think it would be interesting if the fabric itself was more modern/fantasy looking, in a shade similar to what they use at the parks. It could make for a fun mix of historical and Disney.

This is fun! Last year I designed and made a full illustration myself an 1830's dress for Ariel based on the pink gown she uses for the dinner scene! I also included the fork, it's basically a MUST HAVE reference in that hair and that time!

All that is needed is a pink/purple shell accent at the bust for a bit of color and to match the shell/rosette on Ariel's gown. Doesn't event need to be sewn on. Everything else is so perfectly done it would be the topper on an already iced cake.

I just finished my first ever corset this week, and it was a pair of 1830s corded stays - I can't believe you cut that entire process down to only a few seconds, knowing just how long it takes to do all that cording!!!

Your needlework is exquisite! What type of thread did you use for the hand sewing? It looks quite substantial compared to the polyester thread I own.

Macrame cord works! I used it for my corded petticoat
Yes, macrame cord is what the one spool of cording was. The thicker stuff I found on amazon years ago and was cording for curtains and such, but it's pretty thick, so mostly did the other stuff.
