- The Superstar road features the nine most difficult stages in New Super Mario Bros U. Even when playing normally those stages are quite challenging, but can those stages be beaten if we permanently crouch? Is it possible to beat the nine Superstar road levels in New Super Mario Bros. U if our only form of movement is duck hoping? Today we are going to investigate this eternal question, because today we will finally find out how many of the nine star world stages in New Super Mario Bros U , can be beaten while permanently crouching!

I think I have a solution. If you jump on the first frame after landing from a spin jump, Mario will jump without entering the crouching state.

@@monikamorningstarshadlo4129 Usually in his videos, ceave says "this is where the challenge ends" but right after he will reveal that its actually possible with some other method he or someone else thought about. However, in this video, he revealed that it was still impossible with the other method.

David A It’s actually surprisingly simple to detect the half hoo-ray in this video. It’s in the first time he tries the wall jump of doom to get to that P-Switch.

New drinking game: take a shot everytime Ceave throws us a twist in one of his videos.
If you can grab p-switches while crouched, then you might be able to move the p-switches further into the level before activating them, which might allow you to skip the wall-jump p-switch
You can't pick up p-switches in this game. Sure its in Mario Maker, but its not in the original.

Man, I would've LOVED something like this existing when I was younger and played a ton of the first Mario Maker. Your advice for playtesting in three different ways was also massively helpful. Even though I don't play much anymore, I would've never thought about moving platform cycles and how they might affect someone speedrunning a level vs casually playing (where the pattern wouldn't matter much.) You've earned a new subscriber!

You might be able to shell jump. All you need is one of the red koopas earlier on in the level. But..... You can pick them up so you need to keep up with the shell ALL THE WAY TIL the last P switch. And if you are lucky enough to get the height you need, you beat the level.
Can you pick up anything while crouching tho?
@@5up3rp3rs0n I believe it might not be possible. But like I said, keeping up with the shell could work. And if you want to get the shell to move upwards you have to spin jump, pick up the shell and jump on the first frame, and then throw the shell and run for it.

ground, desert, water, etc.

To unlock the final level you first must collect all the world 9 starcoins... So is it possibile without un-duckhopping??
You just have to beat all the stages, not get all the star coins

@@senpai668 When I unlocked it, one dialog box said "you've beaten every level, so you've unlocked the last one" and another said "you've collected all star coins, so you got another star on your save file" so I don't think you do need them.
@@albond Maybe in Deluxe, but not in New Super Mario Bros. U. When I played the game, the first level in World 9 I beat was Pendulum Castle, and then beat the other ones. Never knew there was a ninth stage until I saw it on a video

Mohd Adeeb not with these rules, the biggest thing he used to get the least amount of coins was power ups, specifically the acorn suit

Hello ceave! I am a huge fan of your vids! I believe I figured out how to beat the run-for-it stage with out the power-up! What you need to do is jump then spin jump and you will hit the p-switch without the power-up!
You were playing on the WiiU version because of a 100% save file...

Hi there, Ceave! I’m a new subscriber, and I must say, your challenges are amazing! So, for 9-2, Run For It, I have an idea. We do the same exact thing you did, then ground-pound, because ground-pounding rises you a little bit higher, which may get you the perfect height.
You can't do ground pounds out of a crouch jump.
I didn't know I needed this information, but now I know I did!

It's neat seeing all of the features in this game in this video that are going to be in Super Mario Maker 2, like Icicles, Slopes, upside down P-switches...
Doubt this would work, but if you waited for the brick blocks to begin moving back, maybe the momentum would carry onto the spin jump, allowing you to get high enough to hit the P switch.
