    I have a Burberry eyeshadow that i was not reaching for, one time I tried to fill in my eyebrows and I liked it so i started using in my everyday routine. Today I've hit pan on it and it felt sooooo good!!

    When I do a project pan, or even just to shop my stash… I pick my products and then I commit to four days a week using those products, any four days. The other three days I can choose anything else I want.

    You were the first person to introduce me to Project Pan. I honestly did not realize that it was such a big part of the makeup community! I recently filmed my first pan video, and its already kept me more accountable. Thanks Kelly

      Congrats on your first pan! "Accountable" is the perfect word for it! It has taught me to use my makeup in a realistic way!

    Makeup is fun. It should make you happy. This is why I have more blushes than I need :). But I am not a CZcamsr and I cannot imagine having 50 newest launches. That would be fun. But also a huge waste of product for 1 face.

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety +14

      +MaddiedeVillada Makeup is fun but it should also be functional. Which is why I like project pans because they help me find a balance! :)

    I'm slowly attempting that I can't buy something until I use up an item that's the same kind of product! Expect from eyeshadow I do love an eyeshadow palette 😍 its made me realise what I like and dislike in makeup. I like more natural makeup and bought tonnes trying to look flawless like people you see here on CZcams, but I don't just like the feeling of heavy make up on my face. Slowly trying to find the balance 😃 xxx

      Good for you girl! It's taken me a while to learn what I actually like when it comes to makeup! Sometimes I get caught up in CZcams trends too and try different makeup looks that just aren't for me haha. Panning has taught me to view my makeup addiction more functionally :)

    I agree with you! I don't buy as much makeup either! I mean my spending is only on samples of things I really want to test out, or actual products that I know will work :)

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety +5

      +Robinette Smith I think I should try more samples!!

    If I'm trying to use something up, I'll rotate it, 2 days use it, one day use something else, 2 days on, etc so I do not get too tired of it and I'm not ignoring the other products in my collection. Or I'll make an effort (like you mentioned) to use a product like a bronzer with other bronzers.

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety +2

      Ooh I like your "two days" idea. Because it gives you a tangible number to reach for!

    • @Angelfa1ry
      @Angelfa1ry Před 7 lety +1

      Hey I like this idea 2! I noticed I enjoyed using some of the products I'm panning for bout 2-3 days then needed to change but felt guilty for not being able to stick to panning the item eg eyeshadow or lipstick. If I allow myself 2-3 days of using the product, then a change but come back to the panning items - I think I'm less likely to feel bored n guilty.

    Bronzers make awesome transition shades.. Same with contour powders.. The highlight colors in cream contour palettes make good eyeshadow primers/bases

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety

      Yes! I use my bronzers as transition shades all the time!

    I always swirl my brush and tend to use product up very evenly... honestly i like doing that because then when you hit pan, its shorter to finish than using one spot... BUT it takes forever to hit pan lol

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety

      I still do that sometimes too! It helps to lower the level of the pan evenly without a big dent in the middle hehe :)

      I've been searching for a comment like this! I'm doing the same and haven't hit pan on a pallet I've been using for 3 years! 😩 But I'm going to keep doing this because I want to avoid having lots of product around the edge. Hopefully when we hit pan, we'll hit a lot of pan quickly!

    My problem is that i dont wear alot of makeup on the daily, so only a select few products get used up and repurchased frequently. But im also a pre pro dancer and big makeup lover so i have a decent collection of things that i only use when im doing performances or makeup looks.

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety +2

      I have the same problem because I don't wear makeup everyday either! So some months (when I'm wearing it a lot) I make major progress on my pan, but other months (when I'm going fresh faced) I don't use up as much!

    About the smashbox primer water, i always do it this way, in fact i use 3 primers all the time! A water primer, a pore minimizing and a hydrating or illuminating! :)
    Also about "defeating" the project pan purpose! You're sooo right!!! I always had in my mind, but but.. if they always use these, arent the rest of the makeup is neglected for months and months? So then you always have to go that round and it seemed so boring and constructive to me that i just stopped doing a project pan...
    Ps:- i love this makeup and video btw! (-; xxx

      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Tima! That's exactly how I felt about project pans in the beginning until I realized that I still COULD use my other products when I wanted to! And yes, I've been making a lot of primer cocktails lately like that hahaha. xoxo

    Do you have any tips to use up a black eyeshadow.....it is soooo hard....the only ways I know is an eyeshadow and eyeliner...any other methods?

    • @KellyGooch
      @KellyGooch  Před 7 lety

      I find black eyeshadow extremely hard too :/ I'm still looking for good tips on this myself haha. So far, the only ones that I have found were the ones you listed. BUT if you have darker eyebrows, you could use it for that! But my brows are too light to use black hehe

      Andrea Elizabeth You could use it to make a Lash Tint for more 'No Makeup Makeup' Days or Days that you Don't want to Wear Mascara. Idk might seem kinda dumb lol. I'm Male obviously, but I am so Passionate about Makeup. I wear it everyday, but a lot of times, I do the 'No Makeup' Look because I want to Enhance things without it being Extremely obvious that im wearing makeup. Tinted Moisturizers,/BB Creams, Blotted Nude Lip liner, Nude Blushes, Light Bronzer, Cream Products, Etc. Anyway, I have done that to kind of 'Tint' my Lashes where I've used Black or Brown Eyeliner, Scribbled some on my finger, and kind of Blinked over it to Darken my Lashes, OR I've taken this Dual Sided Clear Lash/Brow Gel that ELF sells for $1- $2 and mixed in a little Brown or Black Bronzer/Eyeshadow/Brow Powder to make a DIY Lash Tint. Or just dip Fingers in the Shadow and apply it to Lashes that way, and then Add the Clear Brow/Lash Gel Separately to Hold it and Create Definition. I usually Curl them first😄 This may not be something that interests you, just an idea. I know some people have Days where they want to use a tiny bit of makeup to pull themselves together a bit, but don't want visible makeup. (thick, clumpy mascara) It really does work 😙

      @just_some_makeup_pans5128 Před 7 lety +1

      Andrea Elizabeth I always use it on the end of my eye lid because I often use light and sparkly eyeshadows. Just to give it a bit more dimension.

      How dark is your hair? I don't remember which youtuber it was but one of them suggested using an eye shadow to darken up their hair line to make their hair look fuller. Like in the temples or in areas where you have a lot of "baby hairs".

    I just started mine yesterday. I was looking for tips. Thankyou.
    I have far to much make-up and I bought it al this year. My "old" make-up I gave all to my sister. At one point I thought shit this wil expire. I have an agreemend with myself that I have to empty 5 things of 1 product untill I can buy a new one.
    (I hope my english is not to bad)
