As a former match angler in the southern region of England, and a bass professional here in America, I am now returning to my roots, and your energy and video compilations are perfect for an old guy like me, getting back into coarse fishing. I hope to be able to teach more of the youngsters here about that style of fishing, which produce numbers of fish, and keeps the youngsters interested and attentive.
    Keep up the good work.

I love method feeder fishing. My preferred way is Hybrid feeder fishing as the hookbait is in the Centre of your bait mix.
Another one thing I’ve discovered is when you got snagged too many times and you’ve lost your methods... (I lost 5 in a session). Yet I still had a 1.5kg of method mix. So I wet the mix just a bit more and used it with a ledger. Running lead, at the end with a longer hook length, instead of moulding the bait mix around the lead, I moulded it around the hook/hookbait. The result is basically having two sources of weight - the led and the bait mix. It acts the same as if fishing hybrid feeder or the Guru feeders with the clip which holds your hookbait in the middle. Every single hit was a bite, because the fish goes straight to your hookbait.

My first carp and my first big fish landed on my first method feeder session. Well... it was only around 6-8lbs but for me it was huge. So I wanted to say big thanks to you guys for your tutorials. There is no better feeling than playing a fish that not really wants to be landed. And the best part of it when you can already see the fish fighting by the bank but its not yet in the landing net. I'm so excited for the new season. Best of luck guys.

Oh to be young again. Lol! I'm buzzing for you guys! Your vids are top notch & your tutorials are clear & precise. The fact is I have watched many videos made by older & more "experienced" anglers that just aren't as clear, concise or easy to follow as yours. Keep up the good work. As for adding my own little tip when using a method feeder I begin mixing my feed with condensed milk then finish off with water if needed. This has got me some pretty astounding results & is worth giving a go to see if it can make any difference to your catches. All the best & tight lines lads.

Thanks for a brilliant tutorial. Watched it last week and tried it out this morning in a very heavily fished local pond. For a couple of years I'd heard about a mythical 30lb monster that's almost impossible to catch...... Turns out that it liked a small krill pop up on the bolt rig method, you described. Fished it tight to the reeds in shallow water with a mixture of sonus hemp and krill method mix ground baits.
Two rods, two casts, and two carp in two hours.... 20lb, equaling my PB and 30lb smashing my PB.....
    I owe you big time!

Great video! I’m in the states and this is the most effective way I’ve found to catch carp here. I use a “pack bait” of oatmeal or panko with sweet corn, and 1 or 2 fake corn as hook bait. Works well and stays on the feeder in current.

When I fish the method feeder or any other type of semi fixed bolt rig fishing for that matter.I always use a rear grip rest and make sure the first eye of the rod is behind the alarm/rest.And of course make sure that the freespool is engaged on the reel.I've seen a few peoples rods dragged in over the years. The bites can be that instant and savage.Even a 5lb carp can pull a rod in.

The other thing that I don't think was mentioned in this video was if the carp are carefully feeding, moving slowly and feeding on the spot (which they tend to do in the style of fishing) a shorter hook link can be beneficial as having sucked up the bait they don’t have to move far before hitting against the weight of the feeder and hooking themselves, too long of a hook link will mean there is a chance a carp will feel something not quite right and eject it long before it took up the slack.

Good method for river carp . Use your normal carp rod/s 2.75 lb tc and up . Find slacks and eddies . I normally target areas behind up stream far bank trees and bushes , objects that are in the water that provide protection to your bait from the flow . Get some vitalin dog food and your freebie offerings in a bucket and cover with boiling water . Put the lid on and leave in a cool place . Do this the night before fishing . The result mix when packed on your method feeder hard enough will stay on your method feeder for an hour easy . Use your alarms and normal weighted bobbins (not the lighter or really light bobbins) . Use back leads to sink your line (not the flying back leads) . If your rod is downstream of your method feeder , then the bobbin will eventually hang right by giving of line (a little at a time) . Watch you bobbin dance up and down and your alarm beep beep away as carp attack the bait (have your alarms turned down) . Only pick up the rod when you have a screaming take or recognise a fish is on . This works well when fish havent seen this method on rivers . It also works well when fish have seen this method in rivers but fish at night .

So far ive caught 4 carp, so ye Im a beginnner on carp fishing.
I do have a question, Im a fishing with i think a system that should be selfhooking.
But sometimes there is like alot of movement on the tip of my rod, like big bites.
If that happens idk if I should Wait for the selfhookingsystem to do Its work or just hit the rod myself?
Because sometimes When I hit the rod myself while getting a bite, makes me miss the Fish And then I idk if I shouldve waited for the rig to do Its work

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  Před 4 lety +16

Yes, you should wait for a proper bite. If the rod just taps it’s normally a line bite so don’t strike at that. Wait for the rod to whack around or line to be pulled from the reel. Good luck!

Been watching for a while, have one question when carp fishing with a weight tungsten tubing is used, can that be used on the method or does it affect the way the pay is presented, I'm a match angler and am looking at using the method for the bigger carp
