Congrats on the XPD2. I am using it exclusively. Do not have another. Sold my minelabs and whites TDI BH. Really like the XPD2. Great platform. In the ocean, it can be spicy(beach) to very spicy(beach sensitive). I find my self using Dive mode quite a bit. Its still deep and the most stable. I am still trying different settings with beach and beach sensitive in the water. Not sure if salt sens affect depth when set to below 7.
Thank you! The default sensitivity is wayyyyyyy too high for the salty environment here. I had to detune it a bit to get it to behave in the saltwater, but it's still hitting on deep targets nicely

The Deus II does sink in the water, i used a pool noodle section and unscrewed the arm cuff and slid it on. Works great to keep it afloat. Nice hunt.
I usually hunt deeper water, so I'd rather the machine sinks. I just hope that I don't lose it! ;)

Please take my advice and ditch the bone conducting headphones, you will only find shallow targets with them. They are not made for a beach environment, there is too much wind and shouting kids for those things. Also, the XP is too chatty at the beach. The dive mode will calm that down but you will lose depth, only use dive when you must. Use Beach sensitive or Beach P and turn the threshold all the way up or as high as you can and it will help get rid of the chatter...I don't know why but it does. Hope this helps. I found that the XP is nice and stable in the water. The factory programs are way too hot for saltwater and have to be detuned a little. I'm still hitting targets at good depths. I'll always prefer the larger headphones, but it's nice that I can hear myself talk, and the viewers can hear the tones

I would try out an XP deus2 even though I am a hardcore minelab user. I've never used a Deus . I see that Deus is flooding the metal detecting market, I am subscribed to over a 1000 metal detectorist channels and I've seen Deus ask many them "that have a large following" if they wanted to try the new machine.. and why not. They promote their detectors and it looks like a damn good detector..I'm curious about thes Deus 2 detector too...maybe someday I will purchase one... In the meantime I won't complain about what I have invested in my other detectors though.. they have paid for themselves many times.. But if offered I would definitely give it a try. Good luck Sean I hope that machine brings you a lot of treasures, we'll be watching.
The Deus is very popular in Europe, but somehow hasn't caught on in North America. It's a fantastic machine and very technologically advanced compared to its competitors. I'm excited to make my first great find with it!

If the sunglasses were gold in color, they’re actually 23k gold plated so you found gold and silver that day.

lol some days all I ever find is a penny! Upgrading to a waterproof machine was the best decision I've made

It’s an xtreme scoop handle comes with the scoop or can be purchased separately

Its a textured carbon handle, so you have a good grip on it even when its wet

Casper metal detecting here...I have found real diamonds in silver a few times - so doesnt hurt to check them
Also if you dont like wearing a full wet suit in colder waters - look into getting a dive jacket - i wear a 5mm zip up - easy on easy off

Ive had this deus 2 for 2years and its bullet proof in water but the pod falls off by your hand pressure and coil cable will turn black and stop under water signal to coil and you charge coil but that does not bother me except charge clip can break and must be on charge points to charge I still ues it but will be going to the legend since Gigmaster has tested ti for a whole year and is half the price for same ability . I like your videos and returns to people who lose items.I see you using black coil cable thats what im trying now but it is a little short needs to be 3 inches longer im 6 ft. 3 have to shorten shaft length to reach pod to coil the clear cable is the bad one but its too long have to wrap circles around shaft.

The scoop handle is from Xtreme scoops in Texas. Most of my equipment comes from Digging It Detectors in Cocoa FL
Do you really notice a difference between your previous detector and the new one? For a budget minded beginner, which do you recommend given someone is only looking from the outside and considering the hobby. THanks for your videos

They're two totally different machines. Both have their strengths. As far as a beginner machine goes, that largely depends on your budget and where you plan on metal detecting (land, freshwater, saltwater). Saltwater machines are going to be on the pricier side

It's possible, but you would still need to use the antenna. I wouldn't want to hunt without headphones

It's still in the low 70's. It feels colder because the outside air is cooler. Not fun when the wind is blasting you when you're wet! haha

For some reason, the Deus never really took off in America. They're used all over in Europe. I think they just want to bring awareness to the brand in the American market. It's Deus 1 was one heck of a machine. I don't know why more people don't use them

There's definitely sharks, you might see a salty once in awhile but that's very rare. The big ones usually stay in deeper water, the small ones are pretty harmless near the shore. I live about an hour away
I see sharks from time to time. Its extremely rare that one ever bothers you. I was doing a ring recovery in St Petersburg last year, and had them swimming all around me. The people watching on shore all had their phones out because they were certain that they were going to witness a shark attack! lol

Seams XP DEUS are enlisting a army of youtube influences from the most popular channels. Merrill from metal detecting NYC has been enlisted to be one of two full time deus influences
Just hope any NEW detectorists . do there due diligence.
Seams deus are out for the lions share.
I have nothing against the deus . I just don't like the tactics. Thousands of newbies listen to you "Influences " and may well get turned off detecting because of costs and some machines are advanced detectorists machines not for newbies.
This is just my opinion..

XP hasn't made much of an impact in America(for some reason). Everyone uses them over in Europe. I think that they're just trying to do what they can to bring awareness to the US market
It a great machine but , I stick with a better brand ,Not worth the money .
