- It can be difficult to be a successful water hunter in the winter. The lack of fresh drops means that we have to find some beach erosion to have a good day! Spoiler... we had a GREAT day!
Equipment being used today-
Metal Detector- Minelab Manticore
Scoop- Xtreme Titanium All Terrain Plus

Hi I was the kid you gave the 50 caliber bullet from WW2, thank you so much it made my day
Such a cool thing to have! A piece of history.
They didn’t confiscate it at tsa 👍
Hey dude!!! It was nice to meet you! I hope you had a great last day in town. Hit me up when you're back and I'll take you detecting if you're up for it😎

Water is so blue. Thank you for saying oh my goodness when you find something instead of the alternatives.
water looks like there is glitter in it ✨✨✨
I absolutely love what you do with&without a metal detector. And you hold peoples and thier loved one keepsakes until you can return them to there owners. Thank You from Michigan, Matthew Gullifor
Thanks Matthew!!!

2024 is the year of gold, can't wait to see it.
🤞🤞
Gold in da scoop!! Beautiful 10k Brotha!!!
I was wondering where you have been! We all are so excited when we see a new video Shawn! You are a pleasure to watch. So happy you found a Gold ring! I hope the rest of this year is that successful for you at metal detecting the Ocean. Thanks for the video and I’m sorry about that man’s Dad passing away, but at least you found his Dads ring and he still has a part of him with him!❤️
Thank you!!! I've been digging, but most of our beaches have been badly sanded in. I don't want to make you guys watch me find nothing but trash!!
Shawn that's what most of my metal dete ting has been. I metal detected our back yard and found a 1953 license plate! This was all farm country before the subdivions cane in. ❤
With the direction of current gold prices rising, I would save all of it and buy a mini forge to melt them down into gold bars.
Nice first ring of the year 😊
Hi Shawn, you’ve been missed! 🎉 Glad everything is going well for you and your healthy. Nice find BTW! Let’s hope the rest of the year goes the same way!! 🫶🏻
Thank you!!
So glad you are back making videos. Congrats on your first gold ring of 2024! I hope you have a blessed week.
Привет из Беларуси, у вас очень красивый пляж и море😊 надеюсь когда-нибудь побывать в таком ярком и солнечном месте) хороших находок)
Glad to see you back out congratulations on the gold ring
Congrats on the gold ring always great to see the yellow stuff coming up 🤩
Soooo glad to see you out detecting! Cant imagine how cold the water is there, but here in Kentucky, Spring is on the way, hopefully!
Thank you for your clean videos ! Love watching them 😂
been using my vanquish 340. with the V12 coil. found a bunch of junk. yesterday. one beach was loaded with black sand. found 2 pieces of junk. there. have a good day.
You've got such a sweet soul. God bless you!
Hey!! Missed ya. The beaches sure are pretty in winter… I am freezing up here in GA. Nice find with the ring. A lot of work, but at least you’re cleaning up the beach. Thanks for that. Not gonna lie, that video made me a little homesick… have a fantastic February
Hi from Northern Ireland 👋👋👋 love watching your posts. Well done on your amazing ring find. Keep on keeping on 😊😊😊
Nice to see you posting again Shaun. Congrats on the gold ring 👏 I'm sure there is a lot more treasures waiting for you this year.
Fantastic camera work!
That's so interesting that you find those bullets - all the other stuff, too, but the history of the bullets is special! LOVE your personality - LOVE your videos! ♥️👍♥️
Missed you . Condolences to the family . 😢.
Congratulations on the first gold ring of 2024!! I hope all is well. I have not been able to hit the beaches here in SWFL for a few months. Life has been so busy. Can't wait to get out there soon!
Awesome ring congrats! Good to see you back on the manticore👍🏻
11:55 Good ol battery! Gotta recharge the eels somehow ;)
Awesome video. Beautiful beaches. Up here in Pgh Pa we’re getting snow. It’s ok cause spring is right around the corner. Thanks so much for sharing. ✌️☮️✨✨✨
Thanks for the new video! Nice find.
Very good to see ya back at it, thanks for the treasure hunts.
It's been a while, great to see a new upload! 👍
Nice gold ring, congrats.
Awesome video and congratulations on your first gold ring of 2024, hope you find many more
Thank you!
Way to put in the time, finding is grinding. Sweet score.
Haven’t seen you in awhile. YT algorithm must be going bonkers. 😂
So so sorry to hear about that young man’s father. I was really hoping he was going to get better. 😢
Nice ring you found there. The person that lost it probably feels sick over it. So many vacationers so that ring could be from someone across the globe. Also I never thought to hang the rings on a carabiner. Awesome idea! ✌🏼
Nice find Shawn!! It sure is tough this time of year! Congrats Brother!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Ray!
Nice that you found your first gold ring of the year. Congrats. I found a whole bunch of the 50 cal bullets a few weeks ago at Amelia Island - when I dug them up for the first time, I didn't know what they were or the history down here in Florida - did research, and now I know - pretty cool. I haven't gotten into the water yet with my detector, surf has been way too high for me. Keep the videos coming - you are an inspiration with your ability to return your finds to their rightful owners!
Thank you! Even though I find a lot of those 50 cals, it never gets old finding them. Such a cool piece of local history
Congrats on your first awesome ring of the year. Hope you have a great year 👍
Great video.
congrats on the 1st ring of the year-gold no less. I haven't gotten my first gold -yet lol
Love you're videos man I just got a Simplex Ultra yesterday so going to try it out some more today... Happy Hunting
That's awesome! Good luck!!
So glad your back!!😊❤😊
Thank you!
I never do well at this beach. Nice ring!!
Its hit or miss. I pretty much only go there in the winter time. Its usually badly sanded in during the warmer months
What a cool thing you do for people. I just found your channel and subscribed. 50 years ago, when I was a kid, my family was at a beach in St Petersburg and my dad lost a custom-made Ruby Masonic ring that his cousin made for him. He talked about that for years!
Hopefully I find it one day! It might still be out there. I find very old rings all the time. Send me an email with the location of the ring, and I'll put it in my log of lost rings. Whenever I find a beach that is eroded, I check my log to see what rings were lost there and never recovered.

Great start
Congrats on the 10k ring!
Thank you!!
Nice to see you again!
Question….what kind/brand of top are you wearing? Is that protect from sun? Is that wetsuit type material? Thank you ahead of time!
Its a 3mm full wetsuit :)
Would be nice when you find a coin if possible mention the date. Thank you.
I called 10k as soon as you pulled it out of the scoop 😅
Another frickin pull tab. 🤣🤣
I randomly found a 925 earring in a parking lot the other day and thought of you. Now I just need to find a freakin’ pull tab lol
That's awesome! I'm always looking down everywhere I go. You just never know when you'll get lucky!
Nice !!!!
I feel your excitement when you find gold! However, I get excited every time I hear you say 'freaking pull tab' LOL! Congrats on finding the ring. Thanks for the updates on the previous finds. It's winter down there...but still WAY warmer there than here in NYS. How warm is that sea water??
The water temp is in the mid 60s right now. Pretty uncomfortable when you first get in, but you get used to it
I enjoy watching your videos. Is metal detecting what you do for a living, or is it a hobby?
Its kind of both. I still work a full-time job, but I do make a little bit from CZcams
What beaches in Florida are you hunting? I used to do Ft Lauderdale hrough South Beach when I detect 🤔
I travel all around the Southwest coast. I get over on the east coast from time to time too
Deine Videos haben eine sehr gute Qualität. Welche Kamera benutzt du?
Thank you! I use a GoPro Hero 12
When I was a kid in the 70s that beach was nothing but shark teeth
Soooo many people sift that beach every day and walk home with hundreds of teeth. I can only imagine what it was like back then. I first started looking for teeth there in the 90's. Its changed so much even since then
At least it’s not a bud lite can lid.
Right. Lol
Do the crusty green coins come clean?
Yep! I put them in a tumbler with aquarium gravel and dish soap
Can you share your settings for ocean hunting with the manticore?
I usually hunt using the Surf and Seawater program with the threshold turned up until its audible. I turn the sensitivity up until the machine is unstable, and then I turn it down a touch. I also noise cancel whenever I change depths, or when the machine starts getting a little noisy
What kind of equipment do you use if you don’t mind sharing? Love your videos.
Thank you! I currently alternate between a Minelab Manticore and an XP Deus II. The scoop is an Xtreme All Terrain Titanium with a 54" carbon fiber handle
@@DetectFlorida thank you!
I've been watching your videos and I have a few questions. What gear do you use, other than the detector and scoop? I've seen you put rings on a carabiner, where do you put the litter you pick up while detecting in the surf?
Also do you know the rules for detecting in Jupiter, north and south of the inlet? Do I need to worry about salvage claims or anything?
Sorry for the late reply, I use a DetectEd pouch with a ring carabiner. It has two sections in it. One for "keepers", and one for junk. The junk section is larger, and that's where I keep my trash. I'm unsure about detecting in Jupiter. You'd have to look at the county laws
@@DetectFlorida Thanks for the reply, you make great videos!
What part of Florida do you detect? I have vacationed all over Florida and I don't recognize these beaches.
I detect along the southern part of the peninsula. Both east and west coasts, but primarily on the west
Does your arm get tired of swinging that detector back and forth? Or have you just built up so much muscle in that arm that it doesn't bother you anymore? AND have you had any shark encounters?
I don't get tired out there unless I'm at it every day for about 4 days in a row. I actually had a shark encounter in the water yesterday! A 3 footer swam right in between me and my buddy while we were detecting. There's sharks everywhere. People just don't normally see them
@@DetectFlorida usually there are nurse sharks but beware that great whites have been seen off the coast of Florida in the last couple of years. Learn to recognize your sharks. You might want to carry a sharp pole or an electric prod with you in the water.... If you see one just stick it out so that it doesn't come near your legs.
Do you ever go to the east side of Florida and detect the Treasure coast area?
Oh yeah. I don't do as well over there, so my trips there don't usually turn into videos. Nobody wants to watch a video of me finding nothing but trash lol
You always sound shocked when you get the treasure in 5he scoop. I find that you’re one of the best scoopers in YouYube Land!
It's always a surprise! What you don't see is the hundreds and hundreds of targets I dig in between the treasure! haha
How do you clean your silver if it is to tarnished
If its really bad, I just throw it in with the scrap silver. If its a ring, I just put it in one of my ring boxes with the rest of them
For some reason, i have to subscribe every time i watch your videos. Is that how it works? Seemslike once i subscribe, that should be it, right? I willhit subscribe after each video just in case. Just might want to tell the rest of the peeps. Great videos. i use a detector for work finding irrigation valves. I have found a few rings for people at Jax Beach. Very gratifing seeing the relief on their face. Bryan Jones
Hmmm, you should only have to hit it once

When do we get the "Freaking Pull tab" merch?
Ask and you shall receive 😜

I’d be too worried about sharks…..
There's so many of them out there, but they almost never mess with people. I'm way more concerned about jellyfish
Curious: Florida law says it’s illegal to detect in the water. What am I missing here???
Na it's allowed here. There are certain areas you can't detect or need a permit for. But the beaches are fine.
Only in certain areas
Legal 😊😊😊
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍🥳🥳🥳🥳
Do you ever get concerned about sharks? I’m in Canada so I don’t know the stuff and things.
Nope! That's something that tourists do ;)
Do you ever just go dig without your detector maybe catch something on a whim ???
Where are you? All I can think about is a shark!
I was in Venice. There's lots of sharks around! They don't ever bother people though
@@DetectFlorida You are crazy!! LOL!! Be careful..
Hi, love your videos and was wondering if you’d sell me one of the ww2 bullets? My grandfather was in Pearl Harbor, and I collect artifacts of the war. Thank you
