      How do you re install them? Do you have to use a vacuum pump to evacuate the lines once again?

    Pioneer has a video showing how to use a vac gauge to do exactly this, with the added reassurance that when you have zero pressure, you are done. Probably this 40 second trick results in the same thing though, most of the time! Cool that this is possible and relatively easy.

    I have a question. Before you disconnect the unit, do you turn the unit on so it is running and let it run for 40 seconds before closing of the outlet, or, does the unit come on automatically when you undo the pipes? I hope that made sense. I am doing one this week end.

    When you say "Backing up the system" are you saying you are getting the Freon out of the minisplit and getting it saved in the system. Sorry I might be using all the wrong words. I need to take my mini split down to do work on the wall and then put it back up. The HVAC company just quoted me $3,000 to do so. My system is a Dial brand.

    • @davinsrandom3142
      @davinsrandom3142  Před rokem +3

      You backup the freon into the compresor. You can do it with any system as long as there are valves on the hose connections.

    • @EPeltzer
      @EPeltzer Před 2 lety +1

      Not in theory, if you do it right. You are pumping all the refrigerant back into the outdoor unit. So it is basically just like it came from the factory fully charged. That's the idea anyway.

    • @davinsrandom3142
      @davinsrandom3142  Před rokem

      In the second video I removed it and moved it. Yes I backed the system up so no recharging needed.

    • @DurzoBlunts
      @DurzoBlunts Před rokem

      The problem is the amount of refrigerant lost from the lines. From my understanding you need to refill over to compensate for the amount used in the lines. Hence why the diy companies and some others sell pre-charged lines with refrigerant in them already to compensate for that loss. Mr cool sells pre-charged line sets for if one is damaged or ever needs to be moved and don't wanna hire a professional with the right gear.
