I could not get this trigger to work for the life of me in a lonewolf full size frame/ parts kit, I was convinced it was DOA. I was very close to attempting modifications like this video but the idea of adding shims did not sit right with me. I replaced the lonewolf trigger housing w/ a OEM gen 4 housing and it worked flawlessly! A+
Does being on the shelf guarantee that they striker safety will still be functional? (I ask, because a few people have shown that the Timney triggers release the striker when dropped. If that happens with a disengaged striker safety, the gun will fire).
I highly recommend stainless shimtock. Comes in many sizes, so you can use just one or 2 instead of needing several (like one 0.005" instead of five x 0.001"). Comes in every thickness from 0.001" to 0.050", but mostly 0.012" and less. (edit: Of course you mentioned that you plan to get metal shims right after I typed this).
In this particular situation , would building up the drop shelf with a set screw allow for the cruciform on reset to prop up higher based on set screw adjustment height to not allow for binary action? Not sure if it would work I guess I’m just snowballing
So I was having the same problem with my Timney Alpha - tried the shim tried pulling the pre travel out, the fix was a factory trigger bar- the lone wolf that I was using was the difference between double fire and purring like a kitten
I have a question Johnny. So if the trigger is back and you get a binary fire, is the firing pin safety still in a position to allow the weapon to fire a round while moving the trigger to reset?
Johnny I got one of these for a 19x in a trade never been installed I put it in my 19x and the shoe will break without the center being depressed? I'm not sure why any information on that happening? Thanks brother 🙏
I already did this. Your shim method will work.. but u have to file the hump in the disconnector. When u release the timney.. look at the seer engagement.. when u start to release.. it drops the disconnector slightly when u first start to release the trigger and then it starts to rise again the further forward the trigger moves..
Where the trigger bar pushes down on the sear you can file some of that material off then polish it. The the trigger bar will be back without pushing down on the sear. file the bar until the pre-travel is almost all the way out while only resting on the sear. If you get real fancy you can match the angles on both the bar and the sear. You need the bar to be raised without raising the sear and tge only way to do that is to file the bottom side of the bar that meets the sear.
Mine did the same thing once I adjusted the pretravel. So reversed what I did and put pretravel back to stock and it continues to do it when I reset very slowly. If I reset quickly it doesn't happen. I wish I never adjusted it because it never happened before. I'm confused
So I just dropped a Timney in my 19 I’m having an issue when I hold the trigger down after a shot or pulling the slide back the trigger does not reset I have to push it forward from the side do you have any idea what might be the issue?
Took my newly installed timney to the range today and kept getting yelled at because the gun was double tapping. Had no idea what was going on. Range officer had the same trigger in his Taren Glock 34. Said the trigger is binary and to contact timney. Good to know what is going on as I contacted Timney. Will let you know what they say.
For anyone else having this binary problem like I did I wanted to tell you that after I installed the lone wolf housing with over travel adjustment screw it stopped happening. No shims were required.
If you figure out what’s going on please let me know! I can’t fix mine. I tried the same exact shim method months ago but with masking tape on the housing itself and still didn’t work. Thank you!
Try using a dot or standard connector. This happened to me with a minus connector since its angle drives the trigger bar down on the reset. The standard and dot drive the bar forward on reset which fixes this
I installed the zaffiri precision finger banger trigger and I now have this binary issue. But what gets me is that it only happens with the mag in. With the mag dropped it never does this. Any ideas?
@@mikeyeyes7 it’s not a matter of racking it again. There is not enough seat engagement and the gun is slam firing. The gun goes between binary and full auto
@@P.green5232 what connector are you using? Mine done it with the ghost 3.5 and i replaced with factory dot connector and it fixed it. Also make sure the connector bend angle isnt too far in or out.
Timney trigger bar is trash. Had to grind out and polish a valley to get rid of striker drag now I just noticed that the (upper tear drop?) on the trigger bar that depresses the saftey plunger , is actually bending around the plunger? Instead of passing over it? WTF. Junk
You apologize for the focus and stuff but we're all just happy that you're willing to share all this information for free.

your understanding of the Glock engineering is exellent. only after you fully understand how any works can you design to improve it.

THis is what is going on with mine...Binary trigger action. really need to find the fix...Grateful for the efforts
My timney trigger wont reset, so glad I found out about all the issues with this system after I bought it......
How’d you fix it?
Mine done the same thing using a ghost 3.5 connector. I replaced with a dot connector and it fixed it totally. Gen 3 19.
I just put in the stock connector and hoping for the same results.

Actually a soft bronze shim stock comes in the same sizes and it will conform better stainless might be too hard
If you put an 8lb Glock oem connector in it…. Will it increase the pull weight? Thanks

That’s cray cray my alpha trigger did not like my g17 gen 5 but she likes and works pretty good in my g44 with dot connector
As always, thanks Johnny!
Free double tapping, right? I wouldn't mind my edc double tapping if the trigger isn't touchy.
Is it possible to fit Timney trigger in a Oz9c ?
How about putting a set screw into the Glock to tilt the Timney's sear?

My trigger is a little sticky on the reset? Any advice? On dry fire at least, it’ll get a little stuck and not reset

Had the same exact issue with my zev pro in my old worn out 34

will this trigger work in a glock20?

Can someone please make a recommendation on Fiber optic sights with a black rear for the Glock 44
Angry bear arms fiber optic sights are nice
Maybe aluminum speed tape for shims, won't move around after it's stuck down.

Are these Timney triggers drop safe? And could you show how they are? Keep up the great videos!

Watch my video called You're Gun means your responsibility
Ok. I will. Thank you so much. Aloha 🤙🏽
I’m having a problem with the trigger not resetting. Is that what’s happening ?
You can shim with paper to get it where you want then mic it to see what you need for a shim
The problem I'm having with mine is that the slide lock keeps staying open.
Jonny Glock please do a fallow up video that resolves the issue.
❤️❤️❤️
Good video. 👍🏼. Personally I’d rather back off the wall the tiniest bit and avoid all this troubleshooting.
Why not just add a small jack screw thru the Glock plastic housing, counter sink the head and that should allow you to dial in any lift required.
That's Kenny Rogers. Know when to hold em. When to fold em
Timney added a new heavier spring that fixes the reset issue
Timney Alpha is straight garbage. 2-3 modifications just to get the striker to drop? JUNK
I didn't have to do any modifications and it runs great. No light strikes or malfunctions, great reset and a break like a glass rod. IDK

Why all this fussing with pre travel? It happens between the time you acquire the grip and the dot. No lost time.
Exactly. If you shoot off of reset you’ll never notice it.
Seems like the solution is to just not waste money on these garbage triggers 😂
It’s not that bad I have one I like it
Junk 😂
