I've had it for a little over a year now and at first my periods were irregular and I had very bad cramps but now they have calmed down and my periods are literally exactly on time. Hormonal birth control was horrible for me and I absolutely felt horrible. This alternative has been a life saver!

I'm on the implant now!!! They had to put me on the pill to stop the bleeding!!!! Because when I had it taken out I was bleeding heavy for 20 days!!!! I had to start taking iron because of it. I'm sad because besides the bleeding it was so nice to be hormone free!

One of the side affects of the copper iud is irregular and heavier periods. This is something you should expect when getting the copper IUD.
