    I don't have endometriosis but I have had a clot in the brain and the leg so I am on blood thinners for life and my periods have gotten so heavy they last 12 days a month. Getting the mirena coil in a few weeks and hearing a positive story is great!

    Thanks for your video. I'm just weighing up getting a mirena. But first your make-up is so complimentary to your features, your very beautiful. I would be glued to your makeup tutorial for this look! I really appreciated your gentle tone while explaining the procedure and the subsequent effects. You didn't leave anything out or blow up any aspect too much. It's scary to have any kind of invasive treatment so you were a great guide to have, I feel reassured and that's important.

      @StrawberryBlondebyAimee  Před 2 lety

      Thank you so much for your kind words Amy, they are much appreciated 🥰 You’re right, having an invasive treatment is never fun but I guess sometimes we have to weigh up the pro’s and the con’s of having it. For me it was a life changer in a brilliant way. It might not be that way for everyone but we should strive to get the most suitable options for ourselves to make life a little bit more manageable. Good luck with your decision. Make sure and chat your GP and practice nurse if you’re not sure, they’ll help as much as they can xx

    I’ve heard so many horror stories about this, and I have been going back and forth with whether I want it. I either see “best thing ever” or “never again” - I really don’t want to risk weight gain, acne, mental health issues (I work as a model so it would mess with my work if I get acne/weight gain unfortunately)
    Your video has really helped reassure me that it might be a good decision
    I feel like it could go either way, but I guess I won’t know which way it will affect my body until I have it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @StrawberryBlondebyAimee
      @StrawberryBlondebyAimee  Před 2 lety +3

      You’re 100% right Florence. For me, my quality of life was compromised by my cycle so I didn’t really have much to lose when I got it fitted but I understand not everyone is in that position. To be honest, I wish I got it 5 years earlier and avoided years of pain and discomfort. Definitely chat your GP and weigh up the pro’s and cons as there are so many options available, thankfully!
      Wishing you the best of luck with it and thank you for watching! ❤️❤️

I'm trying to avoid surgery the IUD is my last resource. I'm hoping it works for me I've heard all kinds of horror stories. This video gives me hope, thanks.

    Isn’t it great Aimee! I got mine fitted in January. Long story short I didn’t get to take the meds to help dilate so got it fitted with just ibuprofen and it was slightly uncomfortable but still manageable. It took a couple of months to settle and I’m delighted with it.

    I am 45 and suffer from anemia due to very heavy bleeding that has extended to an unbelievable amount of days. I have only had a week off my period every month for the last two months. Of course got in to see the OBGYN after getting an ultrasound of my uterus and ovaries. My OBGYN recommended the same IUD after having a normal PAP test. I am scheduled for a uterine lining biopsy and IUD placement this month. It was suggested to use Ibuprofen 800mg prior to the procedure. I am wondering if placement discomfort for some reviews is due to some women not having vaginal births and age, and I am curious because I am older and have had two vaginal births. Still nervous about the procedures, but more tried of this inconvenience that is effecting my life. Thank you so much for sharing your information because we need to share more. I would not recommend a hormone IUD for women who just need the IUD for birth control. They seem to experience side effects because they are not having a hormone imbalance. To much of anything usually ends up being a bad thing. Bad experiences can scare people out of what is beneficial for them personally. Do your research ladies.. ask the questions fearlessly.

      @StrawberryBlondebyAimee  Před 2 lety +1

      100% Hollie!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 And thank you SO much for sharing your experience here too. Yes that’s a good point that placement discomfort would likely be more severe in women that had not had vaginal births. Hopefully it is a walk in the park for you and it gives you the relief you need 🤞🏼 You’ll be a new woman!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🎉💕

    • @holliewitt5816
      @holliewitt5816 Před rokem

      @@mizn2785 I ended up having a hysterectomy.. everything removed besides my ovaries.. they found a very large fibroid that an IUD just would not fix the problem. The biopsy was not as bad as some people suggest.. but everyone is different and the feedback I got from others made me prepare for the worst. I also requested a Xanax for anxiety and that could have been the reason why the biopsy went to well. I took it 1 hour prior to the biopsy.

    I had the same procedure as you last month, after bleeding connnnstantly, literally, since 2019, no kids (don't want them lol), several pills and potions later, I gave in to them putting in the coil. 4 weeks post, and bleeding again now, trying not have ptsd around the the whole thing maybe not stopping again, so fingers crossed. The bloating / pain since though has been tough.

      Well done for being so brave Laura and going with the coil as an option and I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such a hard time since 2019, that’s a long long time to put up with such discomfort 💔I go back to what my nurse told me, stick with it as much as you can. In saying that, If your pain is really unbearable maybe give your GP/nurse a call and see what they think. If nothing else it will give you some peace of mind. Best of luck to you, hoping for a super positive outcome for you! 🤞🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️

    exact same story as me except with PCOS instead of Endometreosis..got a hysteroscopy and everything is okay thank God. 3 weeks in now and cramping is honestly freaking me out but I feel great otherwise! I've actually managed to lose some weight on it too so things are going well, just hoping the cramping eases up because sometimes it feels so intense that I could vomit. Hey Aimee, when you said you had period for 7 weeks in the beginning, did you have heavy bleeding and bad cramping like you 'normaly' would before you had the coil fitted?, I've just got my coil fitted and scared I will go through the same I don't think I can cope!

    • @StrawberryBlondebyAimee
      @StrawberryBlondebyAimee  Před 2 lety

      Hey Meena, thank you for watching! 🥰 No it was definitely not heavy bleeding it was kind of like the end of your period bleeding. The cramps were more a very low constant ache as opposed to full on period pains each day. If I had that I wouldn’t have survived the 7 weeks 😂 Best of luck with getting your coil, I hope you have as much success with it as I’ve had 🤞🏼

    Hi. I watched this the night before I got mine inserted. I was a nervous wreck going in. Dreading it. BUT IT WAS FINE girls don’t worry. Ask doc for good strong pain killers ..take them before u go. And ask what u can take with it. I can take paracetamol along with what the doc gave me. alternate them every two hrs. I got the camera in the womb first was offered the gas and air so pulled on it big deep breaths..got as much into me as possible. Like child birth u float and don’t feel it. and then the coil inserted. Which is like a smear test. I’m 24hrs later & I haven’t bled much at all. And I’m taking the pain killers so don’t have cramps at all. I’m going to take the pain killers for next few days even if I don’t think I need them. I’ll make another comment in a few days. So far so good. Maybe I’m the lucky one.

I forgot to take any pain killers this morn and I’ve no cramps. Yest I took them in case …abt 3 times during day.
