I have a copper iud will be 8 years this year and I feel like my body is telling me it’s time to remove I have vertigo , get werid rashes on my face , body pain and more I just feel sick ! Idk I just feel intoxicated and blood work is normal everything normal 😑 I want to remove it but I’m so scared .

Im getting mine tomorrow. I’ve had 2 babies though. With my first, I was induced with a foley bulb which is a little ballon that goes into the cervix to help dilate it faster. I fainted and needed fentanyl for the pain. So I’m terrified to get the iud just from past trauma lol. But I’m really hoping it’ll be easier since having kids

I have PCOS and the copper IUD(its usually not recommendec but I'm treating my condition seperate from my birth control). And with the irregular periods I would say you may want to look into whether you've recently changed your diet, increased/decreased exercise, recent stress levels. Also heard if you have excess copper it can deplete your zinc levels which can throw off your period. It's crazy how there are so many things that can effect your period, it would suck if you removed it if you otherwise liked it especially with how painful the initial procedure is. Remember, anything you do yo your body, any type of meds you take, the IUD is still considered a prescription medication so something to keep in mind when trying new things. Btw it may br better to see a reproductive endocrinologist instead of an OBGYN or PCP because they really dont know anything about our hormones and cycle. A reproductive endo can actually test your female hormones(FSH, LH, estraditol) AND androgens(testosterone, DHEAS, etc.) to see if youre imbalanced hormonally. 🙄 ofc they might recommend switching to hormonal birth control but as someone with PCOS I can tell you there are natural ways to rebalance like acupuncture, plethora of supplements, stress management, diet, etc.

Ob-gyns always say everything is perfect😂 You could be dying and they would still say everything is perfect. Source: I nearly died because of a copper IUD, and still they kept telling me all my results were normal. 😂 (Had second and third opinions, the doctor who reviewed the ultrasound scans and blood test results was even more outraged than I was. The IUD had been perforating me from the beginning, it's just no one bothered to tell me. So that explained all the irregular bleeding and spotting fresh blood... Also the "normal" blood test results showed rapidly declining liver and kidney functions. So yay for normal.) Anyhow. This is not to say you have the same issues I had. I mean I know you don't, you wouldn't be able to do youtube videos if you were doing that bad. BUT it's certainly to say that YOU know your body the best. If something feels off, it is off. There is life after copper IUDs. They're not the last resort.

copper and zinc levels go hand in hand. maybe try a zinc picolinate supplement to balance the copper?

Hi Stephy! I have watched all of your update videos and I wanted to say thank you for sharing your experiences. I have been thinking about getting the copper IUD but irregular bleeding is what scares me. I had nexplanon for over a year and a half and it was so stressful dealing with bleeding and recurring infections. Have you had any infections since getting your IUD?

This made me feel so much calmer about getting my iud

I just got mine today and like you mentioned, it didn't hurt as much as I was expecting! As a matter of fact, it felt unusual, but nothing more than a mild period cramp. The thing that freaked me out the most was the clamps they needed to use for opening the cervix. But my GP didn't end up using them! She had a clear enough opening so she used the speculum, measured my uterus which felt like period cramps, and then inserted the IUD. Again, feeling like mild period cramps. I'm so glad I watched your video because it really helped put my mind at ease💕

Thank you for making this video, I feel like every other video/article/post I’ve come across makes IUD insertion sound so terrible. I recognize it’s different for everyone, but it’s encouraging to see a positive insertion experience. I hope to get my cooper IUD this month, just made the appointment!

The pain was horrible for me, I felt like I was going to pass out and I had to lie down for several minutes afterward. I don't know if that was just because I tensed up so much, though.

girl I have been on depo for almost four years and I really want switch to the iud depo has made me miserable my family is thinking i want another baby and they don't realize paragard lasts up to 12 years and it has no hormones 😔

So the real question is..did anyone bleed during insertion?? And how much did u bleed after?? I got mine inserted 2 days ago and I bled while insertion and still bleeding not too heavy but its some quite amount kinds has me worried... its a Saturday today so I will have to wait and ask my doctor till Monday.
