Nah, really this was a matter of bad track design. What cause the accident was the curb. In that corner, you either have to give up way to early and take the short cut or you have to follow through. If you you're forced to the inside, there is a curb waiting to launch you into the air.
I think Hamilton left little space, Max tried to take a gap that wasn't large enough. But what made it so dramatic was the way the curb launched him into Hamilton.

In Monza it looked like Lewis invited Max next to him and then closed the door right at the apex. @@mrfrank2097 But that's a stupid assumption to make. Basically ignoring the possibility that Verstappen drove so risky because it was a slow corner. We simply don't know, we can't make this assumption.
To the contrary, we saw in Silverstone that Hamilton actually did the exact same to Verstappen (going inside with to much speed) in a corner that actually is high speed.
Saying that this could have been a 50G corner is BS. It's not a 50G corner and that obviously affects whether or not drivers try to do such a move or not. I could also say that it could have been a rainy day and they could drive without halo and risk Hamiltons life. But they didn't. Purely hypothetical.

and even though i agree with palmer when he says a bit more blame to verstappen than lewis.... he didnt mention lewis steering in to close the gap in his final reasoning.
Verstappen shouldve been wiser.... but lewis squeezed him on purpose, no driver can fix a mistake or misjudgement like this MID corner.... they can only make it worse.
So if you cant fix it, but you can make it worse... who made it worse mid corner? Lewis, by turning in.
clearly..... leclerc knows to close the door, lewis baited him and then closed the door MID CORNER in a chicane.
Since there was a gap and a chance Verstappen had 1 way to avoid the curb when it came closer.
