I’ve built three DIY stands with canopy first two (30 & 55 gallons) built over 10 years ago and the third was built this year for a 90 gallon. All are holding up aquariums with no issues. As long as you have supports on the legs between the upper and lower frames. Without supports is just asking for problems, hence why I don’t like cheap store stands/cabinet.

I saw an old video on worms in the tank. How do they get there? I know you said from over feeding but are they in the food?

They can come from other tanks on nets, bags that have fish from stores, travel on fish.
