Update Canadian government band the selling owing and breeding them due to them being an invasive species. The government wants us to flush them down the drain. So sad. What happens is crazy fish club stays in Cray fish club lol

We had them growing up. We got one when i wqs 4 qnd it died when i was 15. I loved it. I had it trqined to follow my finger across the tqnk and We had a catfish and my dad always knew because it would knock out the pump. I am 51 now so you may not know what the old pump was like but they were a pain. He had cloudy eyes qnd wqs being treqted but our catfish killed it. My dad had one od the doctors qt rhe hospital perform an autopsy and when my dad found out it was the catfish we rehomed it. We loved the shqrk and it pulled through th3 cloudy eye multiple times in its 11 years. It was 18 incles long and over 20 lbs. My dad had it cremated. It used to eat roght out of my hqnd. If we couldnt find q tank big enough the Maine Aquarium was going to take it qnd i cried my eyes out. Th3y were amqzed at how tqme it wqs qnd how i had trained it

Going to try pristine by seachem to remove food source My tank is ONE WEEK OLD ! Everything is BRAND NEW ! None of my other tanks have them either. And there is an EXPLOSION of detritus worms! Like OVER A THOUSAND I think tbh I had a dying plant but they came in on another plant that I ended up tossing but the dying plant was in another tank and they aren’t in that tank so probably Came in on new plant went after dying plant had a population explosion and just went INSANE with that plant and I didn’t even know it Until once I removed it and that swished everything around all of a sudden I saw like HUNDREDS if not thousands of baby worms alllllll over the glass! I hoped I could bring the plant back using flourish and a new plant light which is why I had it in there basically almost dead for this whole week but the plant was just not coming around so I got rid of 90% of it I kept 2 pieces it’s those pink alternanthera rosanervig so I got 2 at petco 1 was rooted the other wasn’t it was like a “bunch” of them couldn’t see it wasn’t rooted til I got home and only ended up keeping 3/7 of the them the others like were slimy translucent leaves hardly rooting just a MESS and I bet they were having a damn field day, Going to TOWN! Must of reproduced all week? Idfk bc like I said tank is only ONE WEEK OLD😭 and I was oblivious I don’t over feed I clean my sand weekly in all my tanks I have like 3 pieces of food on the bottom but doing a full cleaning of the tank tomorrow Thank GOD i did my tank last last week so my suction gravel vacuum didn’t go into any other tanks and I already bought a new one to use on the other tanks to prevent cross contamination But I think this water lettuce dawrf plant was the culprit came looking not great caused toned of problems other plants were in other tanks that have zero issues, still so it has to of been the water lettuce got delayed along the way in shipping process and it was cold like 30-40° outside that week & weekend at night they arrived being half dead roots making a huge mess leaves getting wet bc they was like sinking a little i removed them after 4 days to a shallow pan and once I did the math after I saw the worms I tossed them and took the loss I might do a substrate free tank for a week too for like atleast 2 weeks and again gonna try to use pristine by seachem to remove food source bc there will always be microscopic pieces of food even if I’m being so careful

You don't even need eggcrates if you have 2 inch of substrate.

Black panty hoes can help keep fry in better then doubleing up the mess

I always use water lettuce as a incentive for my Shubunkins to breed. And, I always, always use two males to one female, always. If you watch them really well, and take the adults out, your losses of them eating their eggs is minimal.

I did the opposite of all of this. Walstad method with hob filter and an air stone, no heater. Lots of water sprite, and temperature was at 64 degrees fahrenheit. I also have ab100 juvenil mystery snails, all in a 29 gallon tank, and barely feed them at all, andt hey breed like crazy. Two months later, the temperature is 29 degrees fahrenheit and all is thriving.

The issue about dipping a hand with a cut into the water for testing purposes is that subjecting open sores to aquarium water is a very bad idea due the assortment of bacteria living in the water. I was hoping the video would have mentioned some scientific means of testing, like what some users shared in the comments.

I did mine in a 5 gallon pale. It literally only took 30 minutes of soaking to clean the silk plants.
