Canadian here. Ever since "started from the bottom now I'm here", we're good. Dude grew up in one of the richest neighborhoods, in one of the most expensive cities in one of the most expensive countries in the world. And he was an actor in a well-known Canadian tv show when he was a teenager. Even his drama teacher dogged on him for that lyric lol
Everyone acts oblivious to this dude background..Aubrey acts on every song he is on...
Ty for that bro đ

Ty for that bro đ
I forgot about degrassi yup bro been able to get it since a kid he doesnât know the struggle of being dead broke police harassment none of that!
Just because Drakes dad is black doesnât mean that he automatically respects black culture. If he respected black culture he would never have used that bar about slavery.
What bar? The one he spit towards Kendrick? Because that wasn't disrespectful and I'm a black American.

No cap. I'm one of your subs. I'm 68 years of age. I'm a Jazz fan, Coltrane, Holiday, Miles Davis folks like Jimi Hendrix but now Kendricks Lamar! I've been up for 3 days watching all the reactions to the disses. This is Spiritual ! OVHOE! LOL.
Sorry but what kind of spiritual is that? The kind that takes your soul straight to the devil afterdeath?
You donât understand. This is actually very spiritual. And thatâs okay if you donât know, but educate yourself.

Drakes dad is a black man from America who played in a band for jerry Lewis. His uncle is Larry graham who played for prince for crying out loud! I feel like thereâs no excuse to make fun of slavery.
or any excuse for fake activism
I'm a Canadian white chick and I find myself smiling, singing Kendrick's song like.....'O V Ho!' đ I've always felt Drake was arrogant

Always felt like he was n ACTOR playin the role as a RAPPER
A lot of them do this! You're correct
I've said this ever since I first heard of Drake. I'm 41 so I never really saw what was so likeable about Drake. He just seemed like a whiny simp who always complained about not being able to find "love". Well yeah when you groom teenagers and you're in your late 30's then that's weird. Drake is the definition of a culture vulture cause he grew up rich and never had to struggle but now he's dressing like a gangster and making gun signs with your finger like you would actually ever get involved with some real shit? Once I heard that Chris Brown sent him a bottle of champagne at a club cause Drake was with Rhianna (another one with the herpes) and instead of saying thank you, Drake wanted to be tough and send it back with a note saying "I'm still f**king Rihanna". That's so disrespectful and all he does is bang his friends girls, Even lil Wayne. Then he gets a tattoo of him to suck up. I would never get another man tattooed on me unless it was my family or maybe Elvis...lolm
He messed up disrespecting Pac. He messed up wanting to beef with a true battle rapper.
pac is basic smh yall be on nonsense talkin bout Pac and Eminem both industry plant... pac was a back ground dancer wit a nose ring and a damn actor before he even became a rapper lmao...
That wasnât even disrespectful is was creative mfs just donât like drake

Drake's father was not around when he was growing up. His mother who is đŻ Jewish raised him. He grew up in a well-to-do Jewish neighborhood and had his bar mitzvah when he was of age.
He had/has NO ties to the black community .
"He's NOT one of us".
Drake was just a whole character playing this whole time
I love seeing the culture happy ... That's the best part of all of this
Im from the Caribbean and they taught us about slavery in school at a young age, but as you said, yes we had slave plantations etc, it happened here and it is real to us.
Because the law will be coming for him soon

No, she isn't reaching. Drake didn't make a "mistake" by disrespecting the enslaved Africans in the USA. He grew up as a white jewish man and doesn't have any sort of emotional connection to African American history which is why he thought it was funny to wear black face. Which is also how and why he got the push he got in the industry. The main people giving people like him a pass and allowing people like him to keep going are non generational African Americans. In my opinion.
I agree with you. Also, Drake was always the blackest person in the room most of his life, so he probably always wanted to fit in. He has a lyric in one of his songs :.. on take care album Marvinâs room where he says âmy white friends said the n word I hope no one heard that, if they do we are gonna be in some troubleâ ⊠so he basically admitted white people say the n word around him all the time and he allows it. That right there is worse than the slave comment because he has no connection to the n word. If you had a connection to the n word you would know why the boundary was set to ensure other races especially white doesnât say it.
Facts
Older people can be hip hop heads lol. Where you think it started from. Good music has no age limits!
Exactly, come to bmore and see all the ogs playing hip hop from the 80s and 90s.
It's not because he's mixed, it's because he's Canadian and has a gentrified view of racism. He has no personal experience with racism
And he throws around the n word with a hard rđą
I don't know how I can be 54 and just start learning about this! Love it!!
I don't think she reaching and just because father is black doesn't mean his father taught him anything about what it means to be a black man
He wasnât raised by his black father, he was raised by his white mother in a wealthy white neighborhood but now feels the need to comment on poorer black neighborhoods in another country from where heâs from
I donât think people say Drake doesnât understand black culture or the black experience because heâs only half black. I think itâs because he was only raised by his Jewish white mom and grew up in a predominantly Jewish community, on top of all of the out of touch things that Drake constantly says or does, just like the slaves bar in family matters.
He needs to roast DJ Ackademics next.
Definitely
The Germans and French are very literate about the US civil rights movement. I lived in France and Germany as an African American and I had many in-depth conversations with Europeans about what happened here, far more than white Americans and immigrants to America. When I lived in Brazil, I wanted to know what happened there. Iâm going to give the Congolese woman a pass because she lives in Canada, but if you come to the US , you need to step up your understanding of who fought for you to be here!
HE WAS ACTUALLY GAY, GAY, HE WAS A FAKE RAPPER, AND SCARED TO BE EXPOSED THE FOOTAGE IS OUT THERE

Show us or itâs not real
Drake is gay?! đđđđ
We got celebs out here that are gay pretending to not be and Vice versa. Hollywood isnât real
They are playing in Grocery Store in NY.
Drake was a CV, he never lived in the hood.
Never been through what we did, but pretended to be like us and knew our struggles!
Itâs gross. Boy is softer than my pillow and hasnât been through any hardship
A lot of people know and knew he is a fake. But still listened to his b.s.

Itâs not hopping on a band wagon when youâre fully aware someone is stealing from different cultures.
About the canadian congoese poster: drake could have used his platform to explain everything she did about the experience of growning up as a black person in canada. But instead drake used his platform to enrich himself without speaking on those issues. Sounds like she still has alot to learn and i wish her luck in the future

That one bar did exactly what it intended. He showed his allegiance and also revealed his true heart posture.
I donât believe anyone (except maybe Rick Ross) is saying Drake isnât Black. I believe everyone is speaking on how Drake is CULTURALLY white because he isnât connected to Black culture. Therefore, he âactsâ black. Also, heâs from Canada, and people are accusing him of appropriating Black American culture. Heâs basically capitalizing on Black American Culture when he didnât grow up in the culture.
Didn't drake do black face
CZcams is changing the world as we know it... It's amazing how we can debate this issues on real time... It's not like we getting it from a textbook that can be interpreted/manipulated ... It's on video now to be seen around the world where you can comment and translate with a push of a button from your cellphone .....
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
Itâs âblack American cultureâ thatâs why a lot of non black Americans donât understand
It's my ringtone đ and I'm 60 and still bustin a move young man đđ„°đŠđș
I think the main way people are knowing the history of blacks in America is from listening to our parents grandparents because what I learned in school.....a lot was left out. I only recently learned so much more probably because of social media and the Internet that as lead me to documentries and articles of experiences as well as historical history that you have to search for to actually learn for yourself.
OhâŠ
It goes way deeper than Google and internet. There are things to be âuntoldâ ⊠aka Drake wouldnât know.
Can we please not forget that despite Kendricks W, this is a bit more than a rap battle
Hes exposed Drake and his handlers as evil, groomers, sex traffickers, puppeteers, career and reputation destroyers etc etc.
Its not just kendrick v drake, black v white, real v fake
Dont miss the big picture.
EXACTLY!!!
Itâs like what Katt Williams actually said! And idt itâs about to stop! Who next!?

there's no such thing as "reverse racism" it's JUST racism, it doesn't matter what color it's against.

I'm 73 and rocking Kendrick since my son turned me on to him! That was a serious beat-down!!! đđđ
âDrake doesnât care about black peopleâ is a cultural reference. Itâs a callback to Kanye saying G.W. Bush doesnât care about black ppl⊠đ
Heâs leaving because of the allegations, most them leave the USA before they come for them. Just like Russell Simmons and others.
Finally someone called Drakey out..
đđđđ the beat and all was dope đ Kendrick the man
She is on the right road, his character is being exposed the core.
And there's no where to hide, Kendrick attacked his character and who Drake is originally not the image he portraits, but the person he is in the mirror, the inescapable true self at it's core.
Metro somewhere making drums laughing đđđ
Drake put his house on the market last year. Yâall trying so hard to spin this narrative. Drake laughing all the way to the bank
I love your take on it you speak sense đđŒ
If youâre mixed, you can identify with both cultures. I have mixed kids and at times, they are at a crossroads with their culture, but they embrace and appreciate both.
Most definitely and Iâm am of mixed culture and an elder too . Iâve researched and embraced both sides which took me on a journey to be very proud of

As a female⊠I can honestly say I never got into Drake because his music too soft and emotional. Iâll choose KC & JoJo over Drakeâs monotone azz if I need a good cry. In regards to race⊠even though Iâm mixed I see myself as a Black women. The black community doesnât accept it because my skin has lightened as Iâve aged⊠but you see pics of me as a kid and I could definitely pass as 100% black
If that's the case, Drake needs to talk to Beyonce about how to appropriately appropriate other cultures đ
Im 145 years old. They not like us!!
Heâs part black but how he grew up and what he experienced is mainly from the Jewish, upper middle class, white sideâŠ
Itâs not over
I'm 16 years old and Kendrick hurt drake so bad he stopped grooming me .. rip drakey poo
Yeah dawg she was spot on about him not carrying about Black Americans. He used his father as chess piece to get complete acceptance. He only got tight with his dad once his career started to reach the next level. In addition, he never used his platform to speak on one thing regarding black Americans. Lastly! Wayne got some explaining to do also. He was letting this slide only because he was benefiting off of the Drake âCharacterâ
â€from Germany đ©đȘ! Kendrick L, what a culture awaking
Yeah, I don't think she's reaching! Man is Canadian! If he didn't grow up in the black culture he WILL NOT APPRECIATE IT!
Hey NoahđđŸ
Look Iâm a female indigenous woman. And I care about the culture. I love the culture. I love the music, I love the people, I love the art, the books, the history. And you know why? Because Iâm an academic. I love the liberal arts. And I love people. I care about the struggles.
I been not liking Drake for years. I mean since .. at least 2011. I just see that heâs disingenuous. When I first started listening to Kendrick a year later I was hooked. Heâs got a lot of heart. Just the levels of artistry between the two are different levels. They could never be the same. Drake⊠heâs just not like us. đ€·đ»ââïž
J.cole woke up this morning, opened up his windows, placed both of hands on his hips, looked out the window, and let out a big ass sigh of relief out đ
Im 69 & listening to your reactions.
Let's remember, Black's and Puerto Ricans started the culture! The dancing and hip hop.
I feel like Drake doesnât know about the black culture at all, especially since he lived in Toronto and raised by a white woman his whole life.
I live in Oakland and I canât TELL you what Not Like Us felt like yesterday for 510 Day (a Bay Area area code). What a time to be alive. đ„č
I didn't think it was a reach. He was raised by his Jewish white mother. She showed him how to appreciate Jewish culture. His dad is black, but Drake didn't grow up with him. Therefore I believe what she said is right, he has no real appreciation for the black experience and culture.
I lived in Canada and black people there are different.then in the USA . Chicago in the house
How âŠ.i never been but I wondered how the vibe was

Drake didnât grow up with his father, he grew up with his mom
Hey Noah!!
drake is not culturally black hes never grown up with that part of his background being in his life
I think he's mixed but raised like uppie white
The comment made by the Canadian lady is that she learned about it when she got older even if she still doesn't fully understand it. But Drake has not really done that. The point being made by others is that he is using those in the culture to make money.
im 87, this beef is keeping me alive
Saw this yesterday , thatâs crazyđđ
Drake put his house on the market last year. Yâall trying so hard to spin this narrative.
Itâs more than the slavery bar. Itâs his arrogance. He confused being a top selling pop rapper with being the best battle rapper. You donât tell the culture that youâre the best, but you have a stable of ghost writers.
