I think this comes down to the individual as Meek went at Game and did well against him. Battle rap does matter because it teaches the art of rebuttal. I think Meek underestimated Drake or didn't take it serious because he had a pretty good diss track until "Pest Control" came out lol.
Just like rappers, there are different tiers of battle rappers too. Kdot was battling and around Daylyt who is dope asf. So that's why I think Kdot being a battle rapper, plus how he actually raps, you could assume he was capable of doing this to someone.
