  • Josh Hart (The New Orleans Pelicans) joins JJ Redick (ESPN) and Tommy Alter for another awesome episode of The Old Man and The Three. Topics include: his recent on-court success, how much he's enjoyed playing for Willie Green (who replaced Stan Van Gundy), Jrue Holiday's defense, a complete breakdown of what happened during his NBA Free Agency, how the team approaches the season without Zion Williamson, the underrated play of Brandon Ingram, the insane game winner from Devonte' Graham against The Oklahoma City Thunder, his friendship with Jalen Brunson and so much more.

    I always remember him for not getting multiple high fives during games, freaking hilarious. Sad Pelicans aren't doing so well with Zion sidelined and in rehab in Portland. Aside from drafting Zion(which they might regret not taking Morant if things don't pan out with Zion) David Griffin hasn't really done a very good job with roster and managing Zion's injury(Zion's part to blame too). Getting nothing for Lonzo when month's of rumors knew he was going to Chicago.

    • @carltonbanks5470
      @carltonbanks5470 Před 2 lety +3

      They nailed a 2nd round pick in Herb Jones (should be rookie DPOY), a very good 1st round pick in Trey Murphy, some promising young pieces like Jaxson Hayes, Kira Lewis (out for the year), and NAW. They traded for Jonas Valanciunas and they signed Devonte Graham (hit 2 game winners already). And they still have multiple future 1sts, a $17 million trade exception, and a $10 mil expiring contract to trade. Griffin is building a quality roster slowly with flexibility. They've had injury issues beyond just Zion this year, but are still 13 - 16 when Brandon Ingram plays. You clearly aren't paying attention.

    • @BK-zm8rt
      @BK-zm8rt Před 2 lety +2

      While Griff hasn’t done a good job with the roster, you cannot blame the Pels for taking Zion over Morant. Zion was clearly the number 1 guy in the draft, everybody wanted him. The Morant talk now is just bc of hindsight with all of Zion’s injuries.

    Yeah Stan Van Gundy is the typical cranky old man, I understand this young guys couldn't thrive with him. Just look at his Twitter stuff, he's always writing stuff that, regardless of his political views in them, give off such a bad vibe... For starters, anyone that deep into politics isn't ever gonna be a great coach for a young team, this guys needed a coach that lives for the game and love to be there every single game. So glad we got Willie, seems so humble and kind, everybody loves him on our team!

      Despite tons of injuries and a rookie coach, after our 1-12 start we’ve already beaten the Clippers (twice), Grizzlies, Bucks, Jazz, Nets, Warriors, Cavs, Blazers, Mavs, and other quality teams. Thus your casual assessment is provably false.
