  • Monks are the pinnacles of discipline and martial technique that test the limits of humanoid capability. Warlocks are the servants of eldritch beings who’ve bestowed upon them unknowable cosmic powers in exchange for dark and mysterious pacts. When combined you get a sword wielding martial arts master whose intense training is empowered by the dark gods. Grab your hexblade and put on your gi as we go through everything you need to know.

I dipped all the way into three levels in warlock And I went with packed of the tome and my DM let me flavor it as a martial arts belt for my monk gifted by my patron!

My DM is eager to run Curse of Strahd once our current campaign concludes. He encouraged me to consider monk or warlock for CoS. I proposed playing a multiclass of both. Either a Sun Soul monk employed by an Arch Fey patron to spy on the goings on in Ravenloft, or a build stolen from another channel: a reborn lineage Way of Mercy monk + 3 levels of warlock to get pact of the chain for a raven familiar to basically play The Crow.

I love this My character Alraj Is six levels monk three levels warlock he is a creature who made a deal with an ancient fiery genie to have the power to slay a giant that had been terrorizing his village! But the cat folk being Peruvian coated don't believe in such devil magics and prefer that all fighting be done through martial arts! I was exiled from my village for this dark embrace! But I continued to fight the Giants who seem to be making a mess of fayrune In my brother's campaign of Storm King's thunder! I have mighty companions The halfing barbarian pip who hails from the far north, and a kobalt ranger from the The Black Marsh! We will read the lands of this giant menace!

I have to say a 2 level dip in Warlock is probably better, 2 spell slots and 2 invocations.

Mechanically I was able to take advantage of the Jeannie warlocks ability that adds elemental damage to each one of your attacks and I was able to use my spell slots to cast hex which acted as an extra d6 I got the deal early on!

Great video! Monk/Warlock is not a Multiclass many people think right away when thinking of Multiclassing, but they are really neat.
Monk is my favorite class, and my hobbie is finding ways to Multiclass and create new concepts.
Also, forget your Wis Score. Armor of Shadows all the Way. On a properly built Multiclass by Level 3, you have 17 AC Minimum, with full range of Martial Arts.

Thank you for making this for a dip in both directions.

Just started a new campaign as a WarMonk. We just hit level 3, and I'm pretty sure I'm about to be the best damage dealer in the party (for now). I'm playing Drunken Master and Archfey, for RP reasons, obviously not power. This character has so much flavor packed in, its awesome. Highly recommend this class combo.

As well, Monk + Warlock have some great character concepts.
Way of Mercy + Celestial Warlock: The Miracle Worker (The Best Reliable Healer i have ever played)
You already Talked about the Long Death Monk + Undead Warlock: The Fear Master.
Astral Self + Fathomless Warlock: The Octopus (Extra Points if you go Simic Hybrid)
Genie Warlock + Kensei Monk: The Control Sniper
(Would you like to be a Flying Gunk? And oversee the battlefield while pushing your opponents into your Spike Growth? Dropping them prone with your Eldritch Smites from 60ft?)
    My favorite though (I've played):
Hexblade Warlock + Astral Self + Battle Master Fighter: The Martial Revenant
(...or the only way i found to make Whips viable without Paladin)
10ft Melee Attacks + 10 Ft Flurry of Blows + Hexblade's Curse + Spirit Shroud + Brace= Melee Opponents would touch you unless they want to get hurt.

Hi, thanks for your video, I build a Tiefling Monk (full Neutral) multi-classing Warlock after level 4 (i'll take a 2nd level of Warlock [or 3 for a familiar !] later but increase Monk Level is so porwerfull at the beginning). When I mentioned the idea to my DM, he was very enthousiastic xD. I actually check for my spells, so you give me a lot of good advices. Eldritch Blast and Mind Sliver looks very good, but maybe Mage Hand can be usefull (or Sword Burst, or Blade Ward but i need my action to attack at melee), & Hex of couse to buff before melee and Arms of Hadar or one of Grand Ancient spells.

oh. Why genie is ignored? It adds proficiency damage to your first attack and doesn't consume your bonus action.

    I am not a monk. I am a Wonk.
