But the most important is that their good piece of listening arts remain playing over and over in people's minds and heart. The Highways of My Life (1974) is another wonderful song I will never forget because it was a hit during my teen golden years also.

Growing up in the 60's, 70's, and 80's, their songs were Anthems for my life. The jam "Livin in the life" is my favorite song of all time and helped form my outlook on life as a teenager in the late 70's and early 80's. My favorite Isley Brothers song is "This Old Heart of Mine." I always think fondly of my childhood when hearing it. I remember my parents also playing "Shout" on the radio as well. When Rod Stewart released a redux of "This Old Heart of Mine," with Ron singing in tandem, was a glorious rebirth for modern-day audiences to learn about the Isley Brothers. Although Ronald has aged very well, he has had many legal troubles with the I.R.S. for tax evasion. Hopefully the worst has been resolved. I should point out that Rod Stewart did a marvelous job with that vocal, he lacked the natural flow of melody that Ron Isely possesses, Well done Lamont!

Lamont, my Aunt is buried in that cemetery. I spent alot of my childhood at her house in Paramus. Beautiful cemetery! I loved the Isley Brothers, especially Fight the Power and who,s that lady. Great video Lamont. I live about half an hour from Paramus now my friend. Wish I could run into you one day. God Bless!

'this old heart of mine' my favourite, many have made covers of their music but none ever surpassed them.- not even the Beatles, Rod Stewart and Lulu.
