    Hello, actually I love your videos so so much. I confirm you that after your videos I hope come to Finland. I want to study a master in Finland. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English from Egypt. I saw all the universities in Finland but I can’t reach wit a master of Spanish. So, I decided to study another master like business or Education but there is a must that I have some credits in business or Education. I studied translation from Arabic to Spanish, translation from Spanish to Arabic, literature and grammar. So, what do you recommend me to study in Finland?

  • @julianaugustoromeroreina4735

    Hi, Oliver. I'm new to your channel, but ive been watching you since yesterday all day. I was wondering something. So, i'm planing to do a master in Aalto, but i have a dog who is really attached to me and he'd probaby die if i leave him in my country. Are pets allowed in the student residences?
    And, i really appreciate all the informationn you give us throught your channel. Thank you so much!

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Hey JuliĂĄn and thanks so much for the great question! It depends on the student apartment provider and the specific apartments on whether or not your can have a pet with you. In your case, the two best options for student apartments would be Aalto University Student Union (AYY) apartments: www.ayy.fi/en/housing and Hoas: www.hoas.fi/en/
      With AYY apartments, pets are allowed in studios and studio rooms when living in a shared apartment, and in two-room or bigger apartments. Source: www.ayy.fi/en/housing/the-abcs-of-housing (control+F and search for the word pet)
      With Hoas this also depends on the apartment type. When you apply for an apartment from Hoas, you can check a box in the application form saying that you have a pet. This will hep Hoas offer you an apartment where pets are allowed :).
      Do note that there are other things that you also need to take into account when bringing in a dog to Finland. Please refer to the Finnish Food Authority and the Customs agency when it comes to any regulations, vaccinations etc..
      - Finnish Food Authority: www.ruokavirasto.fi/en/companies/import-and-export/import/animals-and-animal-products/animals/dogs-cats-and-ferrets/
      - Finnish Customes: tulli.fi/en/private-persons/moving/animals
      I hope these get you started. Do let me know if you have any suggestions for future videos and id love to add those to my list.

    Sir !!
    Hy! I am from Nepal.
    I am planning to go there with bachelor's degree in sustainable Solutions Engineering . I have got an admission offered at LAB University, Lahti But they said 'a residence permit will not be issued in Finland.' So i am confused 😕. I expect some ideas /help from you.

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  Pƙed 3 lety

      Hey Sabha and thanks for the question. First of all, congratulations for being admitted to LAB. That is wonderful news! Second, please just call me Oliver. We Finns like to keep things casual and there is no need to use sir or mam when addressing a Finnish person.
      To your question, i would need to get a bit more information because im sure that this is mostly about the context. So if you could please copy and paste the exact words that the university sent you (if you have it in written form). Please do not attach any personal information, names, phone numbers or email addresses in these comments. Just the part of the message where they talked about the residence permits is enough.

      Hey Imtiaz and thanks for the question. I would ask you to contact Edunation directly about the question regarding scholarships because im not 100% sure. However, please note that you cannot apply to Aalto University through Edunation. They currently partner with a limited number of schools in Finland and you can find the full list of them on Edunation's website.

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      Hey Aura and thanks so much for the great question! This depends on the school and degree that you want to apply to. Every university in Finland has different application requirements even when applying through Edunation. What you can do is go to edunation.io and check out the different degrees that are available through their partner universities. Each of those degree pages have the specific application requirements explained so it should be fairly easy to figure out what kind of steps are involved in the application process.

      Hey Divij and thanks for another good question. There are a few English taught Master's level degrees in the field of medicine but as a general rule of thumb, you are not able to study to become a medical doctor in Finland in English.

What you need to do instead is to register your right of EU residency once you have arrived into the country. I talk about this in detail in this video: czcams.com/video/nX47CXW4oUY/video.html
