It reminds me of Peter griffin tbh

Woody: You actually think you're THE Buzz Lightyear? Oh, all this time I thought it was an act! Hey, guys, look! It's the real Buzz Lightyear!

@@elgachatuberrandom4928no, no, no, no! Look, there’s an alien!
I always forgot this movie was made on the 90s. For that time this was an amazing job.
really cool since it was the first fully 3d movie in theatres
And this isn't even Pixar's first CGI film. It was in 1988 called Tin Toy.
@@constipatedparker5879well that's just wrong
It's their first FEATURE film
Tintoy is a short demo created to test out the animation
This is their first real film
@@constipatedparker5879 that was a short though
@@constipatedparker5879 Close but not quite. Their first CGI film was Luxo Jr., 2 years before Tin Toy. But even Luxo wasn't their first true CGI film, because Pixar's first true CGI film was The Adventure of Andre & Wally B, although they were named Lucasfilm CG Project at the time in 1984.
For the first 3D animated movie, it is amazing! It’s surprising it even holds up today 🤩
what's actually cool is there was gonna be another 3d animated movie released years before toy story.
@@coinstudiosmoviescartoonsa1978 Let me guess Cassiopeia.
Wow! I Didn't Find It!
well, it holds up in the same way machinima does. cuz it looks like a playstation 2 game at times.
@@raretendo6879 there was another one before . A collaboration of Jim Henson ( the muppets)and PDI (shrek)
The sudden death of Jim Henson in 1990 changed everything. You can see clips of the work done on CZcams.
They worked with the technology that they had at the time to make this film and it worked.
what program did they use
@@vrteur Renderman. You can actually use it yourself, but it’s very expensive
Presto is the program they used to animate, fizt is the physics tool, and renderman is the render engine to use shaders and pbr materials for the final film after it’s animated
this is usually a disaster, you need to have the tech done before you work on something.
The floor is made out of floor
"In the following shots, Andy's hand was accidently subsituted for Rex's head. Note that Rex's eyes and teeth remain, attached to a human hand"
These pre-footage descriptions are actually horrifying
I never thought I would see buzz's eyes out of their sockets
it looks sick though
I like how buzz is the only cursed one here.
What about Rex with Andy’s head
Exactly HOW did rex’s head get switched with Andy’s hand?
We’re the textures right next to eachother?
They accidentally used the wrong file for his head, substituting it for Andy’s hand.
@@GigaChadFromDiscordI’m guessing the operating system was a bit less user friendly back then
sometimes if a file goes missing there's no easy utility to search for where it went, it just says "rex_head not found please specify another file to use" or something and they accidentally clicked on andy_hand lmao
It could have been as simple as a wrongful ID, like 1284333 (supposedly Andy's hand) instead of 1284233 (rex's head). It depends on the software and how it handled the model you imported too
they obviously did it on purpose for shit and giggles, programmers are very humourous
Pixar was founded in 1979, but was originally owned by Lucasfilm and known as the Computer Graphics Group, originally for animation to produce for media in the late 70s or early 80s
0:50-0:51, 0:52-0:53 And 0:54-0:55 Woody: (Panting) Wait A Minute. Does He Realize That I’m Not There? (Gasps In Horror) But That Must Mean…. I’m Lost! (Groaning) Ohh, I’m A Lost Toy.
0:48 inverse kinematics issue definetely
definitely not
"DISCLAIMER THIS VIDEO IS NOT MADE FOR KIDS" when I was a kid I honestly loved this type of stuff seeing the inner workings of something that isn't real.
it's just so people can comment, because videos with animation usually get marked for kids wrongfully.
@widdlepocketmarcy yep, because the people at CZcams are idiots who think that Animation is a Genre, and is inherently for kids
they do that because they almost got sued
@@Kebab0960 they wouldn't get sued for this. channel termination at the very very most.
@widdlepocketmarcy no i meant youtube diables comments on kids videos because they almost got sued. sorry i should've been more specific
Woody's face at 1:38 is genuinely the funniest thing I've ever seen.

I Wonder what a Full Remake of the original movie would look like (with modern Pixar lighting ofc)
It would look a lot like Toy Story 4
Garbage
With easy access to even better resources for any modern person today, I wonder if fans could remake the first Toy Story, at maybe Toy Story 3 level?
@@ScooterCat64 Unfortunately no, the models are way to old to be used, every single texture and shader would have to be updated heavily to pay tribute to the old textures while still looking realistic, not to mention the human models would have to get a heavy upgrade, the lighting can only do so much before it just looks like the same film with better lighting.
A cool thing to think about but definitely not as a full movie. Maybe a scene or 2.
And you thought Shrek’s animation errors were nightmare fuel.
When I was a kid, I bought what I thought was Toy Story in VHS, turns out it was a documentary about the making of Toy Story. I was sad it wasn't the actual movie, but I still watched that documentary several times and it really gave me an appreciation of the medium and the work it goes into making these movies.
That probably was The Making Of Toy Story Tape which was in a bundle that would’ve came with that as a seperate tape along with the retail release so you probably had the documentary tape out with the retail releases case
In Toy Story 2 there's the scene where Belt Buzz is walking in from the elevator but they forgot to animate the belt so he just looks like normal buzz for a split second. I wonder if the deletion controversy threw them off and they overlooked that.
No, the “deleted” version of the film got completely scrapped after they saved it, the story and jokes were terrible, so they rewrote the story within a weekend, and went into overdrive with the animation to be finished within 9 months since Disney wouldn’t allow Pixar to push back the release date. That mistake was probably because the animators were overworked to the point of exhaustion that they missed it.
Disney is Sega confirmed@@awesomej1107
@@awesomej1107It's just an unfortunate fact of life that sometimes you need to push yourself to the limit and it's nobody's fault. I appreciate you not condemning "crunch" on principle.
If it wasn't for the old coal miners working through horrid conditions, nobody would have had the needed fuel for further industrialisation to improve the working conditions.
@@KopperNeoman Yeah, the situation got so bad that at one point one animator left his kid in the car in the hot sun in Pixar’s parking lot after forgetting to drop him off at school because of sleep deprivation from everyone overworking to reach the 9 month deadline. The kid ended up being okay after the dad realized what he did, but it made Ed Catmull, the then President of Pixar, realize that they needed to put more of a focus on the staff for any films being made in the future to prevent such an event like this from happening again.
@@awesomej1107why wouldn't disney allow it? Is disney a movie manager now?
0:48 He became the literal L sign because he is lost😂
WHAT!?
1:45 why is Woody alone
I'm guessing they made the others invisible but still in the shot so they can animate woody or something.
Skizofrenia
"Hey! My eyes are down here." -Buzz
Man, the hardware that would be required for this back then..
0:30 Buzz really got his eyes sucked right out of his sockets.😭😭😭😭
Looks like he is the real Buzz Lightyear, and it's not even an act.
They trials and efforts paved the very foundation for 3D animation as we know it in cinema. It's incredible what they achieved.
0:39 Rex really found himself in Sid's medical office.
0:51 wtf why is woody’s legs like that😂
They were hit by the car when it left.
if i had to guess, probably a rigging bug or some weird IK/FK bs going on
Absolutely love Toy Story. Interesting that all of the tech bloopers are alternatively funny, scary, or both. What a movie to behold!
aside from the glitches, i find toy story 1 to be one of the darkest movies along with toy story 3 . But theres is something darker on the 1st movie. Since toys are aware of live and death. I guess Sid toys had some thing of PTSD, they are the only toys from the films who cannot talk like others toys do, also they got used to being mutilated so they know how to fix themselft. Also if you think about Sid`s childhood compared to Andy`s you know why he destroys his toys. Due problems with his family like abuse, so for Sid is a normal beheavior to torture toys
And don't forget the fact that Andy's father doesn't appear, and there's a little baby, so we can infer that something horrible has just happened to his father before the events of the movie
It’s still the most successful, best, and the 1st 3D animated movie ever in the internet

Toy Story made by Bethesda Game Studios:

Pretty cool I remember having nightmares of the baby head spider as a kid lol
thank you for the disclaimer :) love it! Animation IS a medium!
1:45 It's like Woody being Doc Ock. 😅
Man, this is scary but at the same time VERY funny to watch😂. Lots of effort was put into this cause the movie is dope.
Thanks for calling animation a medium, and not a genre in that disclaimer. Lots of people don't appreciate this!
Why are you not popular there is a lot of good video to research the animation and the history maybe someone did that already 🤔
0:15) Buzz had always wanted to do that even if he’s just an action figure.
It is amazing that the first animations probe that they were made on scilicon graphics workstations :D. I investigated about that computers and movies like this and effects of Terminators movies were made on that computers.
Good Job. 👍🏼
0:30 talking Tom 1999
Who else grew up watching this classic?
rex with his andy’s hand on his head would be funny as hell
Crazy seeing something like this looking it came out in the 2000s
Ofc there is gonna be a lot of mistakes
Like really that's the first 3d fully movie !
And honestly they did so good for the first 3d movie ever
Interesting!
Pretty cool
First 3D Animated Movie 🙌
punctuation is definitely needed at that beginning disclaimer. i initially read it kind of as 'animation is not a medium (not a genre) a lot of effort goes into'
Keep in mind this was the 90's. It would take literally HOURS to render a scene. Imagine going through all that only to realize you accidentally messed up Woody's legs.
This was the first 3d animation movie ever it would've took more then hours to film a scene
Animating with prisma 3D be like 🤣
True. But it's still in beta. So let's hope it'll get better
Oh no ! Legs
This movie finally proved to the world that computers were powerful enough to animate an entire feature-length movie, and yet they still had issues.
this comment section is giving me a headache. i just wanted to read the comment section for toy story animation bugs but it seems that people cannot read why these bugs were caused or theyre some two year old on the internet
"this is not made for kids!"
*no eyeballs*
no cap sherlock
imagine how hilarious it would be if Buzz's legs floated around the bed when he pointed his "laser" at Woody
The animation glitches used to scare me as a child
I loved that the video starts with a poorly written warning that looks like it was written by someone who is very angry lol
Well, that was traumatising
Its interesting about how they got the perfect graphics on old computers
0:30 "Woody, how dare you open my helmet?! Now my eyeballs are sucked from their sockets!"
What program did they use to animate and create Toy Story?
I don’t think that information is public but I think they use something called renderman to design characters
They used Presto for anination. They used RenderMan REYES for rendering. You can actually acquire old versions of RenderMan that have been cracked by X-FORCE dating back to at least the late 1990s, standalone as well as plugin modules for SoftImage|3D (1996-2001).
@@geggy310 renderman is render
this is bonus content on a video game, right? i feel like i recognize that music at the end from someone streaming it.
it sounds like the Donkey Kong theme
I'm Laughing 😂holy cow! Heheheheahhhhh Goofy Ahh video
Increíble
They did achive a masterpiece it looks bad in the production but they truley tried the animation still holds up to this day it looks so good
É incrível como que tiveram que montar um servidor inteiro e poderoso para a época para poder rodar a engine que eles mesmos criaram.
Looking at these now is cursed and hilarious all at one.
It's crazy how advanced 3d animation is now

Disneyland Resort is celebrating Pixar Fest!
Someone had a lot of HDD space back then to even store the glitched stuff. Amazing these clips survived.
It was probably archived to tape.
This makes me feel better when my stuff goes wack
No wonder Buzz was worried about his eyeballs being sucked from their sockets. He’s speaking from experience 😂😂😂😂
👍
"THIS VIDEO IS NOT MADE FOR KIDS" yeah no shit, seeing these on my crappy DVD player in my darkened room when I was little actually traumatized me
Buzz Lightyear’s eyes finally got stuck by their sockets
Can you do one on Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie or even Madagascar?
Very interesting selection, did Jonah have that on their DVD?
This is Sid's Cut of Toy Story
At 0:33, the prototype version of Buzz.
Right Side : UBISOFT Gametrailer
Left Side : Release of Game
Buzz Lightyear without his eyes in their sockets really looks cursed.
In the early version buzz looks like mad parody
When you look at it now you think it wasn’t a lot of work
Its funny how much the average Glitch in 3D video games resembles these early 3D animation blunders
if u think about it a game is just a slightly dated controllable 3d movie
@@Zion_kThe difference is that these movies pre-rendered animations to then be stored as 2D/stereoscopic videos either on film or as a file, while 3D games are rendered in real time.
@@KopperNeoman yes but the stuff that had to be prerecorded and rendered ends up advancing enough to be able to be done in real time
most of these issues could have been avoided if the animators knew a little more about parenting
They should’ve used sculptures in some of the scenes like the Shrek. I feel good test to make the process easier.
They used what they could at the time shrek had came out years later
@@joshbree6829 I’m talking about I feel good test smarty-pants
The I feel good test is from 1995
I would love to see how faster a modern computer would render this movie today...
One of my questions is how do they make 3D models without having polygons?
All 3D models have polygons, but they’re really, *really* small.
Aaaaa eye head hand human !!
This video used to freak me out as a kid lol
:25 dam buzz eyes really flying
Naturally, making the first 3D movie must have been difficult.
I have the DVD of this, it’s on disc 3 of Toy Story The Ultimate Toybox.
Старые компьютерные интерфейсы программ пугают гораздо сильнее, чем недоделанная анимация, как будто смотришь на что то чужеродное, мертвое. И как люди 30 лет назад не сходили с ума работая в них?
I love Toy Story Pixar movie ever made
I see see someone has the collector laserdisc.
