Sand Chum balls are an integral part of successful Yellowtail fishing. Dropping this sand balls will attract Yellowtails and bottom fish faster and closer to your boat. It also creates a Cookie trail of chum that leads the fish off the bottom and into your normal chum line. Sand balls are most effective for deeper water such as the outside edge of the reef 40-70' and the secondary drop off into 100'. For fishing on the reef or in shallow water, check out my next chumming 101 video for another chum ball option.

Right on time! Just bought a meat grinder yesterday. No chum blocks available here in Bali so I'm making my own.
Thank you, I've been wanting to start using chum balls. Good info. Hope to see you in the keys this summer.
Always Great information Steve!!!
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff Steve
Steve, we use to chum for mullet and used sand, oatmeal, garlic powder with bread chunks and mixed it up with sand on the spot. Worked all the time
Fantastic Steve, thank you for putting so much into this video series. Incredibly valuable information.
Great tutorial, very interesting!
Outstanding! See y’all next week for mini season!
Wow great tutorial Steve! 👍 great technique! I'm going to try this next time I'm down there along using your weighted hooks I ordered!
“meat blanket” lol
Steve thanks for a great set of tips. Have you ever frozen the chum balsa so they deploy more slowly on the bottom?
I'm anxious to see those fish coagulate.
Hi, Steve. Love your channel and your bait. Caught a really nice snook 34” up here at Sebastian inlet on one of your 4” paddle tails. Coming down soon. How much rope do I need for a chum bag for the bridges? #2 or #5 if it matters. TYI
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼. 👍.
CHUM-OLOGIST!
First
That's the same as the Filipinos do to get their bait and chum wrapped around a rock to go to the bottom of the sea.
I'd still prefer the HSVJ porn but I will settle for the rock-on-rock action 🙂
