I have seen quite a few of these types of videos where an animal is swimming for its life in the water that shouldn't be there. I am really beginning to believe that these are setups where people take some poor animal, throw it in the water, and then go "rescue" it for clicks. I have lived 1/2 mi away from the water for 45 years. I am familiar with the boating population in the kayak population and the swimming population of people. No one has ever found an animal swimming in the middle of the ocean or the sound that they had to rescue. People, yes. Plenty of people but no animals. There are just too many of these videos to be real.

I lived in south Florida and witnessed a raccoon feasting on crabs in a tidal flat. He had it made because those crabs were everywhere. You could see where he had a fat belly from gorging himself on those crabs. Cool stuff.
