- In this episode, myself and DigitalDan show off seven of the rarest, most unique/vintage UK roller coasters which we consider to be 'Hidden Gems'.
Have you been on any of these roller coasters? And also, are there any other coasters which you would class as 'Hidden Gems'?
Many thanks to DigitalDan for joining us on this video. Make sure to check his channel out here: / digitaldan7224

Cheers guys!
Chris.
Hope everyone enjoyed, had such a good time making this, it was honestly such a laugh. 😂
Cheers for having me on the channel Chris 😄👍🏻
It was great to see you collab with screwy loops! It just shows how much you’ve accomplished in the theme park community 😄
Certainly was mate! 🙂 Any time buddy, thanks for joining us on the vid 🙃🤘
It was a brilliant collab as always and great to see both of you in a vid!
Dan?! THATS ONE HELL OF A ACHIEVEMENT
chris: lets celebrate scenic railway's birthday by giving it a ride
coronavirus: *yeah no*
Jinxed it 😣
Devon isn’t the Deep South, yours truly, a Cornish person
I'll give you that one 😉🤣
ScrewyLoops sick video though mate 👌🏻
I agree
The fact that this video is 2 years old blows me away. I remember it premiering like it was yesterday!
Can't believe it's been that long!! 😯 That's crazy
The frying pan was the best bit about this video
Digital Pan!
I was so surprised to actually see rollercoasters I’ve been on! Yarmouth and gullivers world are iconic. And I really want to go on the rat ride now
YES WE ARE EQUAL!
I remember getting to ride SkyTrak at GoKidzGo as a kid at birthday parties. I loved that place.
I remember "rat ride" opening day. What a coaster!
Real nice seeing Great Yarmouth get noticed
3:27 i cannot tell you the amount of times my uncle has begged me to go on this and i never did. Only reason we ever visited this place was to visit my aunt and i tell you when my cousin pushed me off that death slide-
This is may be a place that i will probably never get thd chance to visit again with all of the cousins growing up now, but the memories certainly hold a special place 🤣
Omg the nostalgia of "skytrak", I swear it used to be called skyrider when I was little or has it always been skyrider.no way..
You must live in wolves if you remember go kids go lol.
Good luck getting on SkyTrak lol. When I went it was down all day and from what I could work out it seems there is a height limit. Combine this with it only having a single train with a single seat that is probably the most difficult coaster credit to obtain in the UK (and no I don't have it)
Saw the video picture and knew this was Skytrack 😂 absolutely loved it as a kid!!!
I remember going to Go Kidz Go with my school one time, however the SkyTrak wasn't allowed to be ridden, if I remember correctly which I probably can't since it was a long time ago. They said it is unable to be ridden currently, nothing was mentioned about being too tall. I guess it was just closed on that day.
I remember going to Milky Way when I was like 6 and I loved it. The queue for ziggy’s is amazing
JZWS it’s totally different now, they closed it down for a few months earlier this year and re themed the whole ride ! The spaceship walkthrough section is gone, they slowed the coaster down and added laser guns
@@Coaster_Crazy really? well i'm so glad i experienced the walk through because it was amazing and i will never forget it? did u get to experience it?
JZWS unfortunately not as it was my first time visiting the park this year
Antelope was the first roller coaster I ever rode. I was 8 at the time and it scared me so much that I didn't ride another coaster until I was 18. Seriously.. I'd love to ride it again, just to prove I'm not still such a kid.
class video, would love to see more from the both of you in the future!
Cheers mate! 😁👍
Roller Coaster in Great Yarmouth is actually so fun oml
we used to bunk off school and get a combined train and park entry to bembon brothers in margate. Scenic railway was my second credit at 14yrs old
I love it how you literally read my mind with every question I had about the Go Kidz Go coaster, including RCDB and what if you hire the place out questions 😂
I'm from Cheshire and used to frequent Gulliver's World as a kid (I was only 15 minutes away from it).
I loved antelope and the pirate ship (I've not been there in years as I moved down south.
4:08 THAT FACE 😂😂😂
Great way for me to end my night
Thoughtful, clever, funny and (dare I say it) educational, its another perfect Screwy Loops production.
Corr! Educational? 🤣 Thanks so much mate! 😁
Thanks for using my footage 👍🏻👍🏻 great video
Thanks for letting me use it! 🙂 Was a huge help! Cheers mate 🍻
Enjoyed watching.
Great and informative video guys! Well done yet again 😃
The Tubs and Snails at Joyland is one of the most thrilling yet painful rides ever made.
Thanks mate! ☺️👍 Snails looks insane! 😱
Brilliant video.. Loved the humour :D Always remember going on RollerCoaster in Great Yarmouth great wooden coaster.
Thanks mate 🙂
As a rider of the antelope, I can confirm that you do get airtime through your airtime!
I feel blessed. Sky track was my first coaster 😭😂
I remember when the Rat used to be at Lightwater Valley - didnt realise that it had opened under a new name xx thanks for sharing - we enjoyed watching xx
Thank you 🙂 glad you enjoyed it! 🙃👍
I remember go kidz go when i was younger. Every time the skytrak was terrifying. I remember begging my mom to get another ticket. You had to just hold on to the cart and look down. I always thought the transparent plastic would break lol. It was terrifying
This brings back memories 🤣👍
Love Raptor Attack! Went on school trips in high school and the exit got us all running and screaming two years on the trot!
This has to be the best coaster enthusiast colab
That is a bold statement 😯 But thank you! ☺️👍
I don’t know... that USA Roadtrip Collab ElToroRyan did with that British CZcamsr was pretty epic... 😜
Wahay! Great Yarmouth is actually famous for something! 😂
5:45 I’ve been on antelope, ITS THE BEST ROLLERCOASTER EVER!!!!!! In my favourite theme park 😊😊😊😊😊 happy to see it on here
It's an awesome little coaster! Haha ☺️👍
I used to be a ride operator at Warrington gullivers world. I operated the pirate ship and atelope in 2005, possibly the roughest wooden coaster ever built! My second worst experience of riding a coaster after the wooden coaster that was at Rhyl.
It's brutal 🤣
That’s a blast from the bast my first job back in 2007 was at light water valley, when there was only two people in the rat you had to fill the back seats with weighted sand barrels, didn’t do that for long and always ended up jumping in the back haha
Ok that joy land ride the tub one. It’s shut down now from what I know. It is really quite sad. BUT happily the snails are still open and I’m so exited to go back again 😂😂😂 Also there is a spooky rollercoaster in joy land aswell. That’s something to test your toddlers on 😂😂😂. But I’m so glad that good old Great Yarmouth is on this list and it’s good that it’s getting some recognition. Go get some rock from the rock shop while your there. Also come down to lowestoft to pleasurewood hills. Go on wipeout, Jolly Roger and marble madness. And cannonball express if it’s open. 💓💛 Byeeeeeeeee
The number 5 bus in Wolverhampton. The airtime when we hit the roundabout was insane
Every time! 🤣👍
I was going to comment on House of Fun being filmed in Yarmouth but I’m pleasantly surprised that you put that in
thanks chris at time of this 10 days till xmas , no one can get that sky coaster cred , not even the shawn sanbrooke lol
merry xmas to you and wife more content to come in 2020 , thanks to digital Dan as well
thumbs up
Thanks mate! 🤣 Hope you have an amazing Christmas dude! Parks season will be back very soon 🙏
I've ridden 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1. Love the videos! :)
Thank you! ☺️👍
the sky track coaster was at a soft play thingy near me when i was younger but it wasn’t the wolverhampton one because that’s ages away
Love the vids!
Cheers mate! 😁👍
I rode the Granada SkyTrak and it remains one of the most terrifying experiences of my life.
Awsome video mate!! Its nice to hear of these hidden coasters!! Keep up the great videos!
Cheers buddy! 😁👍
@@ScrewyLoops no problem😀 I love the videos and its nice to get a notification of a new video to watch from you. It's always something that as soon as I see it I try to immediately watch it.
@@GLXYFPV thanks mate! 🙂 Honestly means a lot! 🙏 Should have plenty more to come, best time of year is Winter for me to make videos, as I have no parks to go to 🤣
Besides Japan and other european states, UK is the melting pot of weird coasters.
I saw a video a while ago of top 50 uk coasters with rollercoaster and scenic railway in there at about 30 and 40 respectively
I was very surprised to see Milky Way featured, I went a few years back and loved ziggys blast quest but it was called clone zone. It has a small alien walk round before the actual ride. Very cool
I’ve been on it as well, when it was called clone quest, and I agree it was surprisingly good
Airtime within the airtime 😂🤣😂. Took my 5 year old on antelope this year - his first big coaster. we went on the front as i think i would have put him off for life if we went on the back !
I love this channel I swear
Thanks! ☺️👍
Ah yes, the crossover I’ve been waiting for
Rode the Reel in Blackpool pleasure beach during the 60's!
When I saw the cover of this video 😭 I was like "wait, I've been on this one, it's right by my cousins house" JSBSJSN
It's not far from me too 🤣👍 wouldn't have known it existed otherwise😅
i loved the snail ride at yarmouth when i was younger !! lmao don't remember the spinny one tho and they've got rid of most of the good old rides up where the wooden coaster is
A great coaster that use to exist was the dragon flyer at Camelot, being diesel driven, ok so nothing with airtime in it. Use to love sliding around on the seat.
I used to go to Lightwater Valley all the time as a kid, I never really saw the draw of the Ultimate. I loved the Rat Ride. I think it was called Sewer Rat when I went. How charming.
I watch both of you already and your both great 👍
Thanks mate 🙂👍
3:19 I frikin loved this when I was little only thing is that it stunk like feet and was a frikin pain in the arse to get in plus it's barely on now. When it's going round you have to run and Chase it and try and make it back before it gets back while dogeing loads of kids. Don't even get me started on how loud it is 😂(that video brought back so many memories)
That brings back too many memories 🤣 especially the smell part 🤮
OK this is epic.
Good video guys great team work 👍
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
what is it with great yarmouth, some cracking coasters yhere mate
The Rat at Lightwater valley is brill ! Hope it's there for many more years...
snails you say? SNAILS? OH F*CK YEAH!
Yes! The two funniest UK coaster youtubers are in a video!
mateeee Go kidz go was my favorite place as a kid, I've rode that skytrak a few times and i loved it... Kinda sad that most the time i went it wasn't being operated!
I loved Go Kids Go as a kid! The Sky Track was amazing :)
Amazing vid
Thanks so much 🙂👍
Iv ridden the tubs in Great Yarmouth quite a few times and not once have I thrown up after
I live in Suffolk so RollerCoaster is in one of my local parks 😊
Ohhh I’ve been on the antelope at gullivers world
I take credit that I’ve ridden roller coaster as my first ever coaster in the uk!
Yes Digital dan!!!!!!!!
There was also a sky track at big sky soft play in peterborough
Omg I have been on that Sky track when I was 7 and it was awesome 😎
So happy I’m 13 and I went onto sky track 5 years ago and I went to gullivers a while ago so happy to get on some of these rides
Antelope was my first ever coaster - probably why I like rough rides 😂😂
6:48 It think that is Rachel 😂
Good spot! 🤣👍
Designed by chuck norris lol. Never done lightwater valley before, gonna try and do it and flamingo land over 1 weekend next year. Great vid!
They're quite close to eachother 🙂 easily do-able in a weekend 👌cheers mate ☺️
Screwy Loops!
That ride at go kids go is a roller coaster that can rival steel vengeance
Rmc go kids go
More airtime than a packet of crisps in the wind! 💨🍃
I remember go kidz go from my childhood 😂 that was a scary ride when you were a kid
when i saw go kidz go i was like hey i did that i live there
0:20 yeeeees!
I've had the pleasure of working at go kidz go and omg its so difficult to stop the bloody rocket but it was so much fun to operate
I can imagine!! 🤣👍 Completely forgot that it didn't have brakes.
@@ScrewyLoops the stopping difficulties depended on the hight of the child but im hoping it opens again soon so kids can go and enjoy them self's again.
Green Dragon at Greenwood Forest Park in Gwynedd, Wales could be on this list. It's a very unique coaster - before you ride, you walk up a hill and enter a carriage which uses the weight of the riders to pull the train up to the station at the top of the hill. You then walk up the hill again to the station and board the train. The ride actually generates more electricity than it uses.
That's definitely one I would add to a 2nd part of this video 🙂👍
Hello There, this was a really decent video thank you for giving us this perspective, it's much appreciated. Cheers Peter :-)
P.S. it's a shame that Raptor Attack is no longer at Lightwater Valley.
So many Oakwood clips but no Oakwood coasters! Great vid though - Antelope was my first ever woodie. My friend convinced me to put my arms up for the first drop, and then proceeded to stick his elbow in my armpit so I couldn't put them down. Good times.
Thanks man! 🙂👍
Was on a coaster tour to zhe uk in 2006. went to Lightwater as well. Straight up missed the Rat‘s Ride. Still bummed.
I remember going to a play place in Wolverhampton but I’m not sure if it’s go kids go because if it was I might’ve got the credit because so was like 4
Amazing video but them eyes look like an Ocean 🌊🤣
Thank you! 😁🤣
Geez. What a great vid
Thank you! :)
Might be two years on but Peterborough also has a sky track rocket type thing, at a place called Big Sky. So I feel there may be some others knocking about the place. Should do a 2021 version 😊
Will have to keep an eye out!! Didn't know this 🙂👍
@@ScrewyLoops if you did want to do an updated version then Skegness fairground also has one of the only two inverted wacky worm rides called queen bee too (might even be the last in the world still actually operational - I don’t know where the other is) 😂😁
The antelope was one of my first rollercoasters
The Tyrolean Tub Twist is absolutely brutal for a kids coaster you just go flying off it at every corner and it’s great
And roller coaster, that first drop is great
We had a skytrak at big sky in Peterborough 😁
Hidden gem is Pinfari at wicksteed park... yes it’s a Pinfari but the airtime is godly and it is a hella lot intense
I can just imagine the instense stench of socks from the skytrak trains lol
Immersive 🤣
I remember before rat ride opened, there was an appeal out for farmers to catch hugs rats so they could be stuffed for theming. True!!
😱😱😱
