Imagine that lifthill at the end
A Giga coaster called melt down that is built into the crust of the earth melts its riders into a puddle. Very thrilling.
Use a launch system to get it back above ground and no need to worry about tree hight 👍🏴🇬🇧🤠

I have often felt that it would be a good idea to have another row of seats facing backwards on Oblivion. Imagine falling backwards into that hole. 👍🏴🇬🇧🤠

Can I be controversial and say that the cross valley woodie wouldn't have been that great? Sure the two major drops are cool but the rest of the layout (based on the recreations people made) seems slow and boring. I like the fact the valley is still untouched and hope it remains that way!
All I keep imagining is 2 El Toro style drops into the valley, and that's enough to sell it for me 🤣 I don't think it would've ruined the view that much either. Especially if it was all kept beneath tree height 🙂👍
It would also be rough as hell at the bottom of the drops

There is a precedent for massive woodies being crap. El Toro splits opinion, the Beast is shite, the less said about Son Of Beast the better, and look at how many coasters like Mean Streak built in the 70s,80s and 90s have ended up as RMCs because they became unmanageable as standard woodies
I live in the same village as Alton and I’ve never actually heard the rides just traffic gets busy

Right hear me out. A whole car on oblivion that’s backwards would be amazing. Thorpe Park should bring in backwards seats on nemesis and please, please add flat rides to alton.

I still want my cross valley coaster, maybe use something quiet instead of wood, coz you have an amazing woodie now, like a Mack that could even weave through trees with launches - Imagine ICON at alton towers but with spinning cars maybe and through the valley and connect forbidden valley to dark forest coaster-wise, itd feel like the big one does in terms of length - the theme is the journey. I found myself lucky to be alive recently, so I was thinking of things ti fight for and I remembered this as something I wished I could see one day in some form.

If I'm not wrong, Stampida from PortAventura was originally planned for Alton Towers. Makes sense as it's a quite compact but intense ride that doesn't surpass the treeline much. I could be wrong but I remember reading it somewhere and saw some concept art of Stampida from CCI mentioning Alton Towers.

This is really interesting, I was only aware of Secret Weapons 1&2. The bit about the Nemesis river gave me a good laugh too. The valley wooden coaster sounded really cool but with how special that area is to the past Earls and present wildlife I'm kind of glad it wasn't placed there. Still, there's no reason they can't wipe out some of the worse attractions, dig another pit and build it there 😂 they could even cover it over like the Black Hole for another dark coaster, and it would reduce the noise pollution.

Hope to go here in 2021 if I can alongside my local Folly Farm and Oakwood as well as a trip to the three parks of Great Yarmouth. I would love to get on Nemesis, Smiler and Wicker Man over the others but I would love to get on everything there
I actually wish we had the woodie and the pipeline coaster. They would be so unique.
You should do a PB on. The spinning coaster, family coaster to replace the streak and the bigger one are all ones that come to mind.
The only reason I’m not going insane in lockdown is because I have just watched all these videos 😂😁

Honestly they could have just not rethemed Air to Galactica, although it is fun to ride it in VR, after that one time you do it’s more fun to not wear the headset

That didn’t just use TNT they drilled downwards to place the explosives far underground that is why on the rock face the other side of the vertical loop there is lines going down from where Eddie killing drilled I know this Because my grandad was one of them

Well, the cross valley coaster might happen now. Merlin designers and John wardley were seen on the site of where the coaster was going to be. Also RMC follow the parks where they have built coasters except for one account which just so happens to be Alton towers. If you put two and two together. Cross valley RMC as the UK's first RMC.

I would have loved the cross valley to be two coasters one each way so also doubling as a transit system ie. a station at the Dark Forest and another station at Forbidden Valley.
I've always imagined something like this for any park in general 😅 it would be such a cool idea!

Honestly the booster broom is genius i would personally replace rita with it the whole racing theme of rita really doesn't match the aesthetic of the area

Is it bad that I still want a cross-valley rollercoaster in the park? Instead of having it be wooden, just make it unique by making it an RMC Raptor single-rail track! The small size and footprint can add to the thrill as you whiz down the valley in a single-seat car on a 10-car train. Boom. SW9.
Dunno what to theme it as, honestly. It could either be broomsticks, dinosaurs, or motorbikes. Besides, Spinball Whizzer and Galactica feel lonely, so the theme should at least feel welcoming and safer compared to Wicker Man and the Smiler.

It seems so strange Alton doesn't have an RMC. Alton Towers always seemed to be way ahead of the curve in coaster trends, an argument could be made that Alton Towers set the trend for a long time.

Thunderlooper was actually removed because it had temporary planning permission that ended in 1996. The balloon was cancelled not because if the tree height issue. A hot air balloon is not subject to the same restrictions as a building or structure as it is not permanent fixture on the landscape. So not sure why it got cancelled. Also, it is pretty certain the Broomstick coaster plans were fake. Like the jazzland ones.
My prediction for sw9 is an rmc raptor
You should do the Disney Parks. I bet there are 5 million ideas by Walt Disney that never made it because of finances or other reasons.
Random one, but apparently, they've been told off a few times for manipulating the rules, including going above tree height and then going for retrospective planning. Personally, I don't see that much of an issue, what would the locals say if they erected a tower block? THAT would be an eyesore.

There has been a few cancelled plans for fantasy island.
I remember reading about the broom coaster, I bet the theming would have been amazing.
I found out that thorpe was meant to get a new coaster this year but then there rides manager turned on merlin and tried to get logers back so he was fired and now we need to wait

Why do people, live near theme parks when they know there going to make noise
They need to clear out the rapids it’s old and worn out and boring! Half the time the fountains or falls aren’t even on! More like a lazy river! Then there would be loads of space and depth to do something good
