There's a stigma that wealthier people shouldn't be depressed because we have so much to be thankful for. When we express our struggles we are shamed for doing so by those who don't have what we have. Money might make your life easier but it doesn't guarantee happiness.

I’m so glad you said this. I feel more depressed now because I can’t even speak on it without somebody assuming that I’m bragging. I get gaslit now more than ever. No one has empathy about what I’m going through because of how well off I am. The only thing money guarantees for me is a solution to an issue: payment, bill, flat tire, a salon visit. Money absolutely does NOT guarantee an open ear, authentic connections, understanding, empathy, participation, support, encouragement, compromise, laughter, or joy. And when I do mention my difficulties, people automatically associate it with the fact that I have money in the first place… as if the choice is between “either money or happiness” like they are on polar ends of a spectrum. it’s not like you are happy without money and you are miserable with money. They are not synonymous with each other. That’s another thing people don’t understand

His mind and heart were flooded with extraordinary light; all torment, all doubt, all anxieties were relieved at once, resolved in a kind of lofty calm, full of serene, harmonious joy and hope, full of understanding and the knowledge of the ultimate cause of things.

They meanwhile don't really have the option to get help for themselves because therapy and healthcare in America is expensive and its only getting worse. All costs are going up. And they don't have the time as much of their lives are spent working and working, going about their day with dark and morbid thoughts. Do I really ned to say anymore?

Money can buy comfort, not happiness or a fulfilling life. Imagine you can buy any car you like and don't have to worry about the economy. But you come home, you're alone, can't figue out who your real friends are and who's with you because of money. You have no drive to do anything and your hobbies are not fulfilling anymore and you don't have to work to achive anything no more.
Money has nothing to do with depression. Animals at zoo's can be deperssed and they don't have any danger near by and get feed regularly. These animals don't even know the concept of money.

@@ErikAnkan73 So living a completely relaxing live causes depression? What about waking up in the morning to slave away at work for average pay or living on the streets with zero money in your pockets? There’s plenty of single parents who are experiencing either of these things.
These rich people have no idea what depression is and they’ll never experience it, it’s laughable that you’re comparing their comfortable lives to people who are actually depressed due to financial struggles.
